You still don't get it, you can't mix FF types on a single mission ( not that it's technically impossible ). This game is about risking and trust. If you are not willing to take a risk to form a team with complete strangers then maybe this is not a game for you...? -

Not if you use a sniper rifle for purposes it wasn't meant for...cbq action ( i mean under 300m zoom out crosshairs sniping literally ), then you won't really be affected so much that you have to compensate for bullet drop especially if you only use a M107 or AS50. Even 800m is really difficult for a trained sniper... We are still missing quite a few factors for long range shooting which would not be difficult to add but would also reduce the amount of wannabe snipers. -
It doesn't change anything if you can aim or not, you can't aim either way unless you have 3rd person on which most people frown upon if you have at least read a couple of posts in this thread and other threads as well. And if you aim in 3rd person while lying in grass your aim will be way off due to line of fire - line of sight issues causes by the camera offset causing your first shot if not even first shots to miss.

I'm already waiting for the first post "Don't force me how to play!!".. I like the idea and hopefully they will add some sort of it in the SA. But it should be able to work with all known com programs so it will block coms if one is onconsious.

Nice idea with the missing windshield. The light and model issues are well known and ignored by BIS, it's as old as the game itself...maybe not with OFP where almost everything was working as it should.

Same engine, same problems...it's not like TOH is an entirely different engine. They could have made the helo tweaks for ArmA 2 as well but they wanted to make an extra buck...

Double the amount of pistols = double the amount of ammo that misses... you can have two, i will take one and shoot you with it while you perforate the air behind me. Is also good if you want to preserve precious ammo. -

Like, but please no extra account other than in the game and not some extra game loader. Perhaps like they did in Crysis, one login but not something like the name Enforcer has been taken and then i have to rename to Enforcer12345, we have IDs for that which should be shown behind the name info at all times. -

Why not just make one version of the game? BIS can't handle two types, see ArmA 2 and OA. The others who want to DM can play a DM game. -

Thank the gaming industry...long before most were born we had to balance on ledges ourselves in order to not fall down in games, nowaday you just hold RT and push LS to leap from tree to tree ( Assassin's Creed ), what an achievement if i mange not to fall off a tree... -
Like 80% of the stuff in the list... russian body armor and light police armor yes...but what does a brit. US or even the dragonskin which is only issued to high ranked officers afaik doing in a "russian" backwater country?

Gives the people who have a lifelong ArmA/OFP experience to use every opportunity to repeat it over and over again, maybe then will they understand ( and reseach themselves ).

If he actually wants to add different aiming devices and the option to switch them then this is a no brainer. Remove crosshairs to have people make use of the optics...

If you want to join an apocalype game you can't have a villa in the woods with naked girls running around ready to give you a bj, a massage and a cocktail after pretending to hunt zombies for an hour and saying: "Oh my god i'm so tired..." That's what the current situation is with all the private server offering the easy way for players. If those players could officially use cheats to make the game even easier for them they would. Sometimes the devs have to force a gameplay to achieve what they want. Doom 3 also played with the torch as game element...nobody complained...every CoD or MoH shooter kills you instantly when you go to places where you shouldn't ( meaning 1m to the left or right )...nobody complains...the game is in the top 5 every time they start selling the next "copy" of it. If you are enjoying playing a game where you get everything thrown in your lap where you actually have to turn every stone to find food where's the point in playing it? -
That's not the problem, most textures let light pass. If you watch from the outside when someone searches a house with a torch you will see the cone hitting the floor or another object beyond the wall he/she is pointing at.

The fov is the same no matter which view mode. It only looks wider because of your camera position. You don't really gain a lot more, just 1m on each side at 100m which of course appears to "increase" at greater distance. The only fact that remains is that it is used to peek around corners or edges like rooftops in angles where it should not be possible and that is a point where 1P and 3P players agree. It's true that a crosshair gives you a sense of where your gun is pointing, but even IRL you won't hit a target farther than 50m just with point shooting other than in ArmA where you have your 1000m accurate crosshairs, you can't add weapon sway because that's part of the arcadish fps genre to simulate weapon sway where ArmA has an actual model of the gun that moves it's barrel according to your model movement unlike in arcade shooters where you have a picture of an animated gun waving in front of you and the crosshairs getting so huge that you can't even hit the broadside of a barn when moving faster than the developers allow you to.

Shows how dangerous 3rd person is. While "savoring" his characters rearside and "enjoying the wider fov" he missed the chance to scan his surroundings and of course used his communication program to it's fullest... :P -

You just have to make it so if they try to lower the settings they won't be able to see anything anymore because the textures are all blurred. -

I am for permanent AI anyway. In towns and outside so nobody can use the precense of AI against players looting towns. -

Just remove the ability to remove grass with lower settings. Render vegetation and vegetation layer with decreasing detail level up to 500m. Vision should be blurry after 200-300m anyway because nobody can really see any small details beyond 200m, if we could we wouldn't need magnification. It would also solve the sticking out problem when hiding. -

LOD issues, no computer can render that far to cover everything but they already introduced a "cover layer" where when you go prone and the vegetation is high enough you will "sink" into the textures a bit. But it doesn't stop you from sticking out like a sore thumb if the distance is great enough...much farther and they can't see you anymore. "Blending in" doesn't really work in the game as it does IRL. The only thing you can do is take cover behind concealment if you don't want to be seen. -
The icons are good enough, at least it gives you enough info about your current condition.

Remove it, no more cqb sniping. I already cqbed a lot of wannabe snipers with no backup on expert servers with just an assault rifle ( also "shot from the hip" ) and was called noob in the process, but i survived and the other didn't so i don't care. In fact put expert as the only difficulty setting. Not if you tweak at the right places...
