And i bet he snipes at a maximum of 200m... Wind would be so awesome, even assault rifle shots would be a matter of skill up to 200m depending on the caliber. In vanilla i can even have pistol shots reach 300m when shooting "way of the gun" style, hitting would be difficult though.

Weird statement...FF off doesn't make teamplay better. It's the people who do. They never put FF off in any mission before, not even in a player made mission i played and i'm pretty sure it will sure stay that way. That's the spirit of the game to learn not to shoot everything on sight when playing with others and still hesitate when not sure if you see an enemy or not even if you have a clear shot, often enough you have enough time to ask a second or third time, no answer and still FF? Bad luck for the one who didn't answer or knew his position to tell if it was him or not. If you can't even manage these basics ( know your position and that of your teammates, communicate ) you should play lonewolf. There are enough options to distinguish teammates from enemies ( like team black guy or team braveheart ) until we have full options for character customization. Even then will FF happen when people lack team and communication skills and sometimes there might be a lookalike... -
I played with the config on our FEAR server once and changed the shotgun a bit because it was weak in my eyes among other weapons.....it was really deadly below 50m which was almost every distance in the game but it still didn't become the favorite weapon of the players. They still prefered spray and pray weapons...

I wonder if the vehicles can take E10 or Vodka... In case you turn it on you also need quite some time to clear the system, not just rinse it once...

If you have a closed community ( private serve with whitelisted players ) the possibility of people trashing your store would be lower because they might really find it useful instead of thinking to trash and loot it once and then it's gone.

You know you can multiquote in your posts?? :P Regardless if it has to go, some say a zombie apocalype isn't a realistic setting because there are no zombies...but what about a camera hanging 5m behind me...or did i miss something? Did they invent a technology that allows me to view my back and watch what i'm doing with a 3P app??? -

Needs global settings where the server overrides host settings, i would also want server hosts not to be able to alter the mission to have the same setting and chances for everyone. But then the "don't force me how to play" group would get loud again... -
That's what i mean....every time they try to shoot beyond that range they start to guess or ask how far at this amount of mil dots..i always reply "if you want to snipe then get used to the sights. I can shoot everything you can shoot if you are not capable of shooting farther than me with a scope" It always ends with sniper machine gun fire,also when we are beeing shot at. I do not fire when i'm not sure and rather let someone else do the job if he is willing to expose himself for a 10% hit probablity. I made a chart for myself when i was the sniper/spotter for our clan wars, i never engaged targets bayond 600m though due to lag problems vanilla had in those times. I barely wasted a shot. My luckiest one was when i misjudged the distance when shooting .50 vs .50 but my bullet bounced off the ground 10m in front of the other sniper who was also prone and killed him.

Remove noob range finder mode in the server options and there fly the scoped rifles because hardly anyone can guess distances that accurate...

100m ist quite far for pellets... In the game you can still use pellets at 200m quite efficiently, the spread is about a 2m circle and is quite deadly, well at least with vanilla hitpoints, not the DayZ superman hitpoints which is about 3x the normal value.

There would still be the problem of beeing to look beyond concealment... I liek the suggestion of having to go to a menu and switch out of 3P off to be able to use aiming fight...gives the guy who was "spotted" a chance to switch locations, either close in or run away. -
And because of that you lower your weapon before you alt-tab...simple solution. Why do you alt-tab anyway...?

Making a game as realistic as possible ( just pretend it could happen ) makes the game authentic. If you have in mind that there are no zombies you will never immerse yourself into a game. -
I know how to shoot 3rd person with crosshairs...that's what i practiced for years for clanwars. Just people complaining they can't hit with it and who have never heard that they have an offset when using 3rd person and wonder why the guy who was using his sights at close range shot them before they could score a hit with 3rd person because they had to spray a few shots to score a hit. That's the big difference you have to learn when playing fps like CoD of BF where your bullets fly where the crosshairs are regardless if your barrel is sticking in a wall and not like in ArmA where your sights are slightly above the muzzle and you hit the obstacle in front of you if you don't watch what's in front of your barrel.

Make it harder to kill both zombies and players

I don't think anyone who knows how to handle an AK or AR at 200m can just take a scoped rifle without proper training and shoot the same at 500m and more... + add excitement...you can be the best shot in any gun or sniper school. When the bullets start flying it's only a matter of having balls or not if you hit or miss. Which is well implemented in the game when the bullets hit your surroundings ( character breathing heavy and shaking ) -
Just remove "execute action" from your LMB and you will be fine.

If people want to play third person they don't need the sights... :P Keep them spraying. People who want immersion and do not use the excuse of wanting to see their character from behind ( which takes 1/3 of the screen and with it a lot of fov ) but actually meaning they want to peek around obstacles to have an advantage where there shouldn't be one should be able to use their optics. I could shoot without crosshairs in 3rd person just fine...i just had to tilt my RL head and my camera was behind the rifle... Ever heard of headbob?
