what's your favorite backpack to use?

Hunter. Its the largest pack one can use and still see over their shoulder.

I think I've lost my humanity.

Plays a game that's probably less than 20% complete and only hopes there's some kind of end game added... You haven't event played DayZ yet.. No one has.
  3. Persistence, zombie fixes, MORE zombies, better (actual) hunting/trapping, horticulture, etc.. I'm looking forward to when survival is a challenge and the primary goal of the game. When banding together becomes easier than going it alone, making it worth the risk to not KOS and making lone wolf deathmatch snipers nothing more than zombie bait (assuming they could even last long enough on their own to find a weapon to snipe with).

What if we get rid of Zombies?

I never liked the zombies in this game. Or any other aside from Project Zomboid, tbh. I always thought it would be more interesting in a setting similar to the movie "The Road", with roaming AI cannibal gangs.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

Well shit guys.. someone get Rocket in here and let him know.. He'll be thrilled to hear that his game just went from like 12% feature complete to 99%! They could release next week! It was awfully silly of him to think he could make something more than just another shooter from a military shooter. And to buy all those other studios and hire those devs.. what a waste.. On a more serious note, you might check out Breaking Point for ArmA 3. It sounds like it's more of what you're looking for.

When the survival gameplay is fleshed out and actually becomes a challenge, there will be plenty to do outside of PVP. Did you ever play Project Zomboid before they removed NPCs and roaming zombie hoards?

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

I don't have any quotes from the devs at the ready to share, but I've read talk of the addition of more homesteading type things.. farming, building, etc.. And I don't think anyone can even say the core survival part of the game has been fleshed fully out yet. Right now we have players and a (very) few retarded zombies.. and food and water everywhere. Not much of a survival game.. So you're right.. right now DayZ is a scavenger deathmatch.. but I don't think that's the game they want to make. I'm sure PVP will have a substantial role in the game, I just don't think it was ever intended to be the sole purpose. It's just turned out that way so far because they started with a combat simulation.

You seem to be under the misconception that the state of the game now is all it was ever designed to be. Though you may prefer an open world scavenger deathmatch, it was stated from day one that they have much more planned. Cute pom poms, bro.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

Interesting bit to cherry pick from my post. But I'm really not interested in getting into an argument over semantics and inferred meanings. And besides, I have less than 90 hours in game.

    Adding dynamism to gunfights

What's really interesting is that your only response to the points that he's made is to try to invalidate his opinion by pointing out that he's "only played 90 hours", then repeating yourself ad nauseam. And all this despite the fact that the direction the devs are already committed to has been clearly stated. As a result of that direction, they're completely rewriting the code that interprets player movements.. from scratch. So they're going to be experimenting. So suggesting they throw it all out and just make it physics defyingly super responsive like all the other games isn't going to happen.
  11. I'd personally like to see all loot be permanent, ala Project Zomboid. It would require that after certain point the server be reset, but that would make the game more immersive to be there from the beginning and also help prevent server hopping. Of course this would only be feasible if/when they add more homesteading aspects (farming, building, etc..).
