Guide: How to add auto run function for G510/compliant keyboards

Greetings, With much help from UPIA over @ the.logitechusers forums. I'm pleased to present you with an option to add a "auto run" function to Arma 2 via a script. 1. Open the Logitech Gaming Software suite and select the giant G. Aka the profiler. You can find the software/drivers here: http://www.logitech....g-keyboard-g510 and download the software/driver package for your specific OS. I'm currently using version 8.30.86. 3. Create or use a pre exsisting profile for Dayz (via the + symbol). 4. Click the profile icon, use the drop down menu to select "scripting" 5. Overwrite your entire defualt script with: 6. To use the function: So currently, given the script. When you press G1 the script will depress the W key. When G1 is pressed again, the script will release the W key. You do not need to assign the G key as that is done by the script. You can use the Test profile feature next to where the scripting option is to make sure its working properly. 7. To change the auto run script to another G key. Within scripting, change number 1 in the line "G_PRESSED" and arg == 1 then" to any number between 1-18. (As I've changed it to G2 in the pic = 2). Keep in mind you can still use the macros for that G key but it will still activate the auto run script pressing W. Have fun :D -

Greetings, Have you ever stumbled upon an epic weapon loot!? Perhaps an M107 50 cal!? Put it into your bag and POOF! Its gone!?!?!? My GAWD! Fix the inventory bug that deletes all weapons if you don't have enough space. If I can't harvest wood because of inventory space, hence the well place text alert message. Than perhaps, hopefully one could incorporate that feature into weapons and gear aswell. In the meantime, you may want to provide an inventory space requirement for each item here or on the wiki. Need advice: Macro an "auto run" button via G510 or DeathAdder

Greetings, I've seen multiple threads regarding auto run. Mostly about the lack of the feature, lol. I own a G510 Keyboard and a Razer Death adder mouse. Both come with software to associate commands like scripts, macros and functions.to the buttons. [Razer Synapse 2.0 & Logitech Gaming Software 8.30.86] Its quite a useful feature of a muse and keyboard with a game like Arma 2. At first glance it sounds simple right? Wrong. You can make a macro that will contiously press and hold W to run. But you can't turn it off with a macro. You can incorporate a delay, but if a situation arrises your running until that delay if finiished. For this to be possible I think it would require a script. Now I'm not fimiliar with either of the scripting languages these softwares use. But the script would need to reset the macro button's active states. For example (This is not a script btw lol just a function explanation. XD): Press G1 = W with toggle = ON. Press G2 = Run reset button state script = G1 OFF. I have not had much luck finding a script like this the works with the most current version of the softwares. I'm going to keep looking at post back if I do. Just figured I'd ask so we can atleast get the option out there for the player looking for this "auto run" feature. Man Thanks! <3 -

Greetings, Given this recent interview @ http://www.gamebreaker.tv/pc-games/exclusive-dean-rocket-hall-interview/. So, we got the current status, priorties and possibilities for the game. Being the updates to now. Lets be realistic. No one asked for bear traps.

A few other games I can think ofhave done this and were successful (Minecraft). A few other refused it and were still successful (Terraria). Arma MP is so locked down when it comes to mods that aren't server accepted. So idk, I think its a cool idea from a community aspect.

Perhaps you can find other means. But all in all, you're not going to make it very far if your hesitant about running into other players. March in there balls deep and take what you need. You're not going to live forever. -
If you hit up a few decent loot locations and there isn't anything there. Change servers, Rarely, servers will have loot spawning problems. Or if your on a really high pop. server. The loot could be taken.

Bear Traps - Why Were These a Priority?

I don't beleive bear traps were priority by any means. Allow me to speculate, but majority of the issues we want fixed. Aren't that simple as bear traps. Perhaps they added them to provide more content and keep interest. Its hard to complain about more free content. -

Not sure you're on the same page. This isn't about running or walking. Its solution to holding down the forward key for long periods of time. Adding, you can add the script to a G key that is accessible by your pinky so you don't have to move your hand postion while playing. I have the run/walk toggle mapped to my left shift key. -

This script does the same function as above. But when you activate auto run it changes the color scheme to give a visual status of the auto run state. Red being on, green being off. Greetings, I think the vehicle's spawn mechanic needs a balancing. To my knowledge vehicles only spawn on server resets and if the vehicle was destroyed. I'm sure there's a timer and a probabilty aspect to spawning but that doesn't really affect the issue. Now I think this is a nice realistic mechanic, but I do not bleleve the majority of the vehicles on a server are being used as they're intended by Dayz. Now this creates an problem, as players that are new to a server are most likely never to find a vehicle at an orginial spawn location. Now you don't want vehicles to common occurance in a survival game. But as the game is currently being played, vehicles are being hoarded and hidden. Usually by shady means like by the server admins and or being placed on the edges of the map. I've been playing this game since v1.7.5, a few weeks. But I've done a lot of traveling, running. In the laps I have done around Chernarus I have only found 2 ATV's on a low pop. server. Its hard to make a suggestion as changing the current vehicle's spawning mechanics would require some serious tweaking. Tweaking that I don't have a clue about nor resource restraints. Don't get me wrong, make your fort. Keep your vehicle. But I'd imagine it would involve a way of anti hoarding or spawning a new vehicle after such vehicle is gone for such time.
