Greetings, New to these parts. So hello :D Two questions, if you have any BRAAAAAINS! left to spare. :heart: 1. Ammo crafting. Do you know of a recipe guide, or could someone list them? I didn't find anything on the forums or the wiki. Overall, I don't think its that complicated but I can't manage to craft any 15rd for the Winchester. 2. Awhile back, I remember hearing of a "quite" ammo type for the Winchester. Maybe others aswell? I've tried both slugs and pellets for the double barrel and Winchester. Both ammo types seem to aggro Zeds at about the about same distance. On a side note, I understand the difference between slugs and pellets. But ingame, whats the difference between them. If pellets still aggro, do less damage. Whats the point?

Question?: Ammo Crafting & Shotgun ammo types

Wiki "Although in reality the Winchester 1866 is a lever action .44 Rifle, in DayZ it is a shotgun. It allows slugs in tubular magazines of 15. In patch 1.5.8 the Winchester was made slightly weaker in damage and louder. The patch also removed the pellet ammo type from the game and replaced all existing magazines with standard slugs. It's very easy to find ammo for this weapon and many new players still find it useful. " -- I talked to a friend about this and he said back in the day the Winchester was THE gun to have for starting. Silent and plentiful of ammo. Its a shame, its worse than the double barrel nowadays. I still have yet to find a crafting recipe for 15rd. I'm starting to think it was overlooked. I'm not too spec of ammunition but is there a reason why you wouldn't be able to craft shells? -

Well eventually your kinda forced to learn. Or lose more gear due to the bug. Its an error and should be corrected regardless of dayz experience. Keep in mind suggestions are made to improve dayz. -
Disadvantage to going solo / Lack of health supplies

Greetings, I would like to address the disadvantages that are currently in place to players going in solo. I know the mod isn't finished but I feel that the game is a bit biased towards the lone wolves out there. If you run in a group you have the ability to epi pen and blood transfusion your buddy. Make sense, and these are great features imo. Give the incentive to cooperate and form. But I don't think the single player's out there should be at a disadvantage for not doing so. Let alone, being out manned and out gunned. A few suggestions i have to help out the loners. * A pill bottle item that will recover a certain amount of health, preferably till full, over an mount of time. *More morphine spawns in residential areas in smaller towns. If you break a leg in this game outside of Elektro or Cherno without morphine its hopeless. 9/10 times the player just re-spawns. Its not fun or exciting crawling around. Make the medical spawns a uncommon drop in residential. *Splints were already suggested but I like the idea. Perhaps residential could have splints instead of morphine. Either or, I think would be an improvement. *Alcohol. Instead of useless empty whiskey bottles everywhere. Incorporate alcohol as an uncommon drop. Make it a time period based buff to prevent damage, unconsciousness and or broken bones. It could postpone one's death by just enough time to seek aid. Giving them some hope. I don't mean this as a rant. I think the game is pretty well balanced and provides a great atmosphere for survival. Thanks for reading! :heart: -

Lets be realistic. People have been hacking Arma since release, before dayz. McDonald's still puts onions on my burger even though I told them not to. FAWK! hahaha hackers will always be present sorry. -
Your suggestion isn't really realistic imo. Not in zombie types but as what is capable. Zombies now are glitching threw walls and doors so what hope does one have for attributes. I do wish there was a sprinter and a walker though.

If your unarmed. Sometimes the best option is to run right at zombies. Aggro them all and those them by running threw a building that your not trying to loot from. Divert them away.

Humanity should reset on respawn.

I say no. Humanity rating is a play style rather than something specific to a new character. -
Without looking bad? I don't think so. You may be able to run the game on normal after you purchase a 1GB GPU. Back in the day I ran Arma 2 on normal settings with slight jitter on a: Dell XPS Gen4 Pentium 1.8hz single // hyperthreaded 2GB ram 7900GTO Currently I use this setup running maxed: AMD Phenom 9150e quad 1.8ghz 4 GB ram Radeon 6770 HD 1GB

The only place I found matches are in the northern stores like Polvana. The southern stores are looted to often. Head towards Berezino (north east). Its a bit far but it has 2 stores. Hitting all stores on the way.

Strange and Uncalled for Zombie Behavior

Ahh, there is the root of your problem. As it turns out, you were killing zombies with one of the loudest weapons in the game. We call it the "dinner bell" for a reason :) If you have to shoot, a pistol (of any kind, provided you have one) will do you a better job by not aggroing every zombie in town. If you only have a lee and are forced to shoot it, pray to god, because that's about all that's gonna save you from "dat horde". Guess I should have stated the initial shot was was with a pistol. I couldn't avoid the first Zed, only had one pistol clip. Had to switch, bad situation indeed. -
I like the idea of the fencing tool. Perhaps changing the fencing tool to a limited amount of uses (2-3) would help with the spam. If not I say remove it. Its mostly contributing to trolling spam or server hopping/looting.

I've had this happen to me in the red brick houses with the long hallway. I'll get into the back room and have to kill a zombie. Agrro 5 Zeds, ok. Then, its like 20 coming through the door. By the end I had broken legs and spent like 5 Lee Enfield mags. It is scary, but it has also been the only true zombie experience I've had in Dayz. -

I fully agree. I would rather take the chance of losing my loot to connection than have another player hunter alt F4 his way out of what he had coming. -
Unless we get flags/effects for murder, this game will just be Deathmatch.

Imo, there shouldn't be any form of penalty for killing another player. It is every man for themselves. I appreciate that freedom aspect. If your looking for commendatory you can form a group of friends. I'm not the killing type in game. But when a stranger comes straight at me with a gun what other option do I have? I have hunted, the hunters. Shooting players from a building with no intention of retrieving the loot. I can notice first hand how disturbing it is to see nothing but trolling. I saw one unarmed guy get shot in the leg and kidnapped. Held for ransom for a vehicle. The good side of the story is he stole an m4 from one of their backpacks and killed the two suspects. But he understood its just part of the game. -
If your going in to this game mic less and solo. Don't expect much as far as communication. Odds are they have friend on vent etc. that they're talking to. If your trying to mic talk to a stranger in Arma more than most likely they will just harass you, or tell you to shut up. But it does sound like your doing in game text chat correctly. That is how I text chat. Being that it took almost 8 hours for me to respond to your question others in game are most likely busy aswell. Hard to text chat when your surviving. Or they're just quite. If your in "side channel", the "main channel" chatter wont show for you. Vis versa. As for other ways to communicate maybe you can work out some hand signals or something :P Here is the only thing I can think of. Find/enroll for a group?
