A decent suggestion. I have spontaneously combusted from bumping a small bush before so it makes zero sense that hitting a survivor does nothing to your car. I was endlessly happy when they added the fuel siphon as it made sense to add it. It's good to see some good changes being made lately that address continuity issues. Like if I have a toolbox and can put wheels on a car, why can't I take wheels off a car? These kind of issues stack up and break the flow (imo).

Gentlemen/Ladies of the apocalypse, I will be spending some time over the coming summer doing some upgrades on my PC build. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or perhaps advice on what products to buy/avoid or pro tips for the upgrading itself. I will be looking at getting: Case Motherboard RAM I have never upgraded a motherboard or my RAM before so any and all advice is appreciated. My current relevant specs are: Motherboard: ECS H77H2-M3 Processor: Intel i7-3770 @ 3.4GHz (1155 socket) Memory: 8GB DDR3 single channel SSD: Plextor 128GB HDD: 2TB Seagate GPU: 2GB AMD Radeon HD 7800 PSU: Antec 620W

Thanks for the detailed reply and sorry for my slow response, was stuck doing some cramming for exams. I agree about the plasticity of the input panels that seem to be around on a lot of motherboards at the moment. Currently I feel like I am going to break something whenever I plug in anything, especially the DVI input. I think I have decided on a ASRock Z77 Extreme 6 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z77extreme6); crossfire capabilities if I choose to double up at any point, reviews well and looks solid as hell. For RAM I have opted for Corsair Vengeance 16GB - 1600 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmz16gx3m2a1600c10). It's 1600 as opposed to 1333 as you have suggested and it's Corsair so I trust it entirely from past experiences with their products. I love the design of your case. It looks sleek and functional. One thing I can't stand with cases is the trend of LED's everywhere and trying to make it looks like a gaming monster case. I crave simplicity in product design; if it does it's job properly it shouldn't have to look flashy and be lit up like a damn spaceship. I was considering the Thermaltake Chaser A41 (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/thermaltake-case-vp200a1w2n), compromising on the LED's on the front for it's customizability and cable management. I think you have me sold on the Fractal Design however. I will definitely be taking out the drive bays as you have done as the only internal drive I use is the SSD and keep everything else on an external as I like the ability to just unlug and take ALL of my shit wherever I go (inb4 slow write/read time). Again, many thanks for your advice. I would give you beans twice if I could

Are your file directories correct in Commander?

I think whilst the idea of carrier pigeons in this case may be somewhat ridiculous, the man has a point. However ridiculous it sounds, there definitely is grounds for a better comms system other than side chat. I'm sure that it has been dealt with in the SA though (I'm sure I read something about CB radios, walkie-talkie's or something along those lines).

I pretty much have the same build as number 2 and it runs beautifully. The only thing I will change in the future is a case with greater airflow as advised by Statik. How much are the quotes for each?

Does anyone have a fix for just the DayZ mod, not epoch? -

Hate when this happens. You find a server that is perfect for you, you find amazing gear, there aren't barracks in every goddamn town...then the server just becomes a ghost town [insert "BEST DAYZ SERVER - Awesome loadout" server rant here]

What country do you play in? Also by survive do you mean you play hardcore in terms of no markers, 1st person etc?

Does anyone even remember what DayZ is?

What zone are you in? -
A pretty decent server. Not 100% vanilla but when you factor in the high traffic, its a pretty worthy compromise. There are AI on skalisty and at the NWAF, there is a bridge to skalisty, and there is full moon. TBH, I have never found the AI so it hasn't been an issue and I don't frequent skalisty so again, no problem. The biggest draw card this server has is it's active and friendly admins. Was playing today and we got hacked, within the minute the admin had contacted us, gave us the TS details and they were perma-banned within 5min. Was very impressive Edit: hurrdurr too tired for this shenanigans....here is the link I meant to include http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/103.23.148.205:2302/

ways to collect and use empty bullet casings

A brilliant idea imo regarding the sound trap and tracking players by there trash. However, if every player on a server leaves bullet casings everywhere imagine the load on the server :| -
I became a KoS sniper today...and I'm not sure if I should feel bad about it

As far as the poor sod on the roof was concerned, his game was over anyway so feel no guilt there. As for the wookie; wearing a ghillie and carrying a DMR pretty much says to anyone looking at the aforementioned wookie, 'my favourite hobby is wearing my victims' faces' so his fate was sealed and I'm sure he acknowledged that when he went down. Take my beans good sir. -

Have you modified the map or any parameters or is it pure vanilla? -
If it is I don't want to live on this planet anymore

Probably one thing I am looking forward to most. Imagine coming back to your tent to find a note saying: 'Needed food, only took what I needed. Left what I could in exchange'....or alternatively 'I ate all your food and took your guns....I wasn't even hungry. I'm not sorry. Have some toilet paper'

Worthless Points of Interest: I Nominate....
mphilippa replied to DoctorScandalous's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
mmm somewhat agree to a degree. It is almost always a waste of time walking, if you have a vehicle though it can be worth the drive if you combine Devils and Vybor. Buuuuut, I sometimes enjoy spending over 30min sneaking around the airfield, its one of the only places that still gets the heart racing when you see a full server -
This is exactly my thinking. The point of the sprint and grab is to be quick enough that if anyone is watching you that they either won't get a shot as you're ducking between cover fast enough or you will be gone before they get the chance to get an angle on you. I always gear up in elektro/cherno and I have never been killed in the process. Stay alert, use 3rd person wisely and avoid other players in the area
