I fear your laptop might overheat and fall over(not die or be damaged mind you) Its what happens to alot of "gaming" laptops.. But if it doesnt, and the graphics card can run it, youve got a pretty decent machine besides the GFX card. I would just say download arma2lite and try running it, if you can run that, it SHOULD be possible.

Hehe, any player killing oriented player will tell you to take the Enfield. The double barrel is a piece of shit, if you are lucky you get a winchester, barring that... choose your intent. DB is bad for ammo, bad for zombies, and bad for business. Enfield is the same, but has the ability to kill players and theres an overabundance of ammo. Basically: Take what you can get, if you get a choice between the 2, take whatever you have the most ammo for, but know that a pistol will do better than both at being silent.

Oh yesterday I had been respawning only to be killed by players around 12 times in 2 hours.. I respawned in Cherno on UK5 server I started looting the cafe's and found myself a makarov with a few bullets, the rest of my gear was nonexistent but some food and drink came in handy! As I walk back to the other side of the cafe from the front to the back under the stairs, a lee enfield barrel sticks through the door and aims for me, in a fit of panic due to not knowing what my mic button was I unloaded 6 bullets into him and ran away, he panicked and fired a shot before running away and drew the whole zombie horde of cherno onto that cafe! 5 seconds after this incident I hear on direct mic: Holy shit, you almost got me im on 34.2 blood. I profusely apologize and we kill the horde, loot the cafe, and head over to the firestation. I give him my food supply to get his health back to 1k, so he can atleast take a hit and he gives me ts3 details. We continue to play for 6 hours during which we went to the hospital, looted the apartments, circled round back towards cherno, sorted out the barns, we carry on for another hour or so.. and the battleeye client kicked us both off... never saw or spoke to him again :(

Well All I cant say is it happens. Eventually you will see which places have had player presence. If you know what loot SHOULD be there, and all you find is can piles, YOU COULD do the next player a favor, pick them all up and throw them away, come back in 20-60mins and VOILA! new loot! however if the tin can piles remain in the loot spot, no new loot will spawn till the server resets. So.. Basically, everyone else already looted the stuff you are searching. Eventually youll get an eye for that.(What should be at your location versus what you find at your location) Always when I come home from work, at 7pm the server I frequent resets, which is brilliant cause i get some decent loots for awhile then :D

Hehe that one threw me at first, The Vest pouch is most likely a joke because its smaller than your patrol bag. Maybe in the future Rocket plans to remove backpacks from starting gear and then it makes sense to have vest pouches laying around. At the moment, Leave them be, since they have less slots than your patrol pack

Oh oh I got a good one. Met up with 2 guys looting the docks.. they got all the good gear(electro) So I wasnt a threat to them, we decided it was smart(ish) idea to check out the fire station. We head on over and im on point cause I have a Hatchet! suddenly I see 2 guys with AK's one of them spots me and instantly starts shooting(he hits once out of his entire clip) I keep running and ducking between the buildings and one of the players on our group went down, as one of theirs went down. Less than 20 silent seconds later my other friend goes down to the remaining AK player. I waited and looked at the dead bodies till the final player comes out of the woodwork of the buildings and begins to loot. BAM! Your friendly neighborhood hatchet man is here! I loot all 4 bodies, and I make my way over in between the fire station, supermarket, restaurant and office. Waited a good 20 mins, looted some things then went back to my spot in between the 3 buildings and in no time flat had everythign repopulated I saw 1 player in the rest, 1 in the office, 2 in the supermarket. I asked in direct chat on coms "Friendly?" And 3 of them insta replied.. Now that all of them were aware of each other, hilarity ensued as they all ran out and kill each other. (Apparently 1 friendly person is ok... but 4 friendly people is "PANIC!") last guy standing atracted the zeds, didnt have time to loot and died trying to get back into the firestation... Due to a tanktrap. I continue looting... I am now fully geared up, head into the woods, and see a silhouette on the horizon far far above Elektro. I fire one round. INSTALOGGED! Im like... hmm.. Finally made it into the woods, not far from where he logged, and I hear one inconvenient foot step.I swing my gun around he puts a winchester in my gut and my blood down to 3k, and i put 3 G17 rounds in his head. He dies, I live and in only 45 short minutes, im all set to hunt animals, and head to NW :D So to sum up... 2 friendlies and 7 baddies, but I reckon if I had a real gun, the friendlies wouldve shot me too.

Also a helpfull tip for the new players! First pick up all the loose drops around the bag! this will make it 10x easier to actually pickup the bag. In the latest beta patch bags dissappear when dropped, therefore it is smart to transfer the contents of your old bag to the new bag first, then swap, and move on. Or pickup the bag using the gear screen(only possible on dead bodies)

You are infected(not zombie related) If your body temp drops below 36 theres a chance you become infected. When infected you lose 3-6 blood per second to a minimum of 6k blood(in other words it wont kill you) You need antibiotics to cure this. Found in a hospital(rarely)

I usually observe for 20 mins up to an hour before making a move. Perhaps thats considered boring or cowardly, but its worked 50% of the time.. What cant be prevented is people logging in behind you. It sounds like thats what happened in Berezino. Taking only 2 mins to check Stary is too short of a time, when the dude is inside a tent looting, and if he entered stary from the other side you wont even see the zombies he spawned. My advice... Start in a town first, get all the necessary supplies, and gtfo, set up a camp and THEN start returning for fun. It sounds like you leave the coast before you have the supplies necessary to setup a camp. Theres no real advice here though mainly because: It happens. Even in squad based combat, you cant defend against a player spawning in behind you, or just waiting for someone to come along. Try and be the hunter, not the hunted. Heres kind of a dick move but one i love to pull when I need supplies from a town. Wait for another player to loot the place you want to loot and wait for him to start heading towards the forest, put a round him as he reaches the treeline, mosey on over take his stuff. If he has the stuff you need, great, if he doesnt, wait for the next.

Hiya and welcome, The DAYZWIKI ought to help out with most general issues but here goes: Yes there are melee weapons but they are still being tweaked(Crowbar blunt weapon requires multiple hits, axe is one hit kill) Depending on whether its daytime on the server you join, itll be around 30-40 players average nighttime between 0 and 20 but you get all shapes and sounds. No, not every building is accessible, maybe 30-40%. It is possible to set up tents, the server saves their location and provided no one finds them they should persist through server resets, campfires can be made by combining firewood with a matchbox, it is even possible to skin animals with the hunting knife, then gather firewood from the forest with the hatchet, make a campfire with the matches and then cook the raw meat.( This is THE survival technique for loners. ) Beat me to it

People like that wont ever have a good story to tell. And they will realize it sooner or later. This game comes down to experiences and moments. No one i know appreciates a story that ends with "and I quickly logged" Even when logging out in the fire house at NW due to either lag, server disconnect or my game crashing, when I come back in, ill stay regardless of being surrounded by 3-4 people accepting the cards i have been dealt. (Normally I wouldnt be caught dead logging out in the damn fire station at NW :P)

Had a mate with this issue, he basically reinstalled the whole thing to get it to work... Most people that have the bandage menu issue also cant see their location at the bottom right when spawning. My mate fixed it by reinstalling arma2 and OA(verifying helped also btw) and then setting up the beta command launcher correctly(he used sixu to update DAYZ but used the site to update the beta patch and the command launcher) And now his game works fine and the bastard is showing me up for finding a cz550 in the first barn he ran into

The few times ive decided to go INTO a supermarket its either after ive JUST spawned or im running around berezino in my lonesome

Or having spent 3 days gearing up around NW only to spawn in after a nice long relaxing sleep and finding out you are about 40m in the air and falling fast -.-

For new players I would avoid supermarkets they have the covetted matchbox item and tents.. but beyond that, if you dont need those items, IGNORE IT.

Basically the rule is: Find medical first(before weapons and everything else cause its the most important) Then look for the rest of your stuff. No point in getting attached to your gear if you dont have medical supplies... One of the most contested areas in cherno is the north hospital near the apartments but the apartments hold ALOT of residential drops and the hospital has morphine and blood.

If you're in the supermarket, find: KNIFE, FIREWOOD(or hatchet), MATCHBOX Then simply run out into the wild, kill some animals(not bunnies) get some raw meat, cook it (by having firewood in inventory and rightclicking the matchbox to start campfire then highlight campfire and select cook meats(dont press G just scroll menu click)) and youll get 800 blood per cooked meat.
