Welcome Some players are playing psycho and some more just playing killem all for kicks. This is a game where you play however you wish, make a role, assume a roll whatever, anything goes. The zombies are pretty few and far between but they are more or less placeholders while load testing and what have you goes on. Early DayZ, theres is a lot to come including other ways to amuse yourself aside from killing anything that walks. No worries about repetitive environment, a few building types are common but that's towns and cities for you. -
A few days worth of scavenging, will probably lose it all by the end of the weekend but that's how it goes. Finally found me a scope

You can change your profile name which will change your DayZ name This doesn't have to be the same as your steam account name

I think you make a fair point it would make for a more a interesting/atmospheric maybe rather than a definite door open = player has been there. Might save time for the looter but its still player indicative similar to spawning zeds.

Reads as though you've taken a line from nearly every thread in the forums Harder zombies will make it difficult for new players, the realisation that it hasn't stopped the killing on sight will discourage them Limited food and medical supplies will make it difficult for new players When these players are no longer new they will no longer find dealing with these things as much of problem by then these players will be having fun with the real challenges the game offers and not the basics They will see threads like this and hope that the game doesn't become any easier :huh:

Also..drag a bottle of disinfectant over those rags you've created and your wound will be less likely to become infected so the theory goes anyway, haven't been infected by a raggy badage yet but never say never

Has taken me awhile to find one, I had both side arms and I found the mag before any ammo for the magnum. (no tweren't me in this story) Mil base is your best bet.

Magazine for the FNX45 isn't everywhere. If he had .357 ammo for the other who knows why

We talk from a distance, I say "hey" unarmed guy replies with long winded gibberish I think um ok.. and carry on Short time later I decide I'm going to need a bandage so I tear up my tshirt and the guy turns back up and starts punching me. So I bop him with my fireaxe. He stops punching, I stop hitting. Both bleeding now, but it seems I was the only one with a bandage. He tears off bleeding all over the place looking for one and I'm not sure if ever found one. not much of a story but a recent tale -

Well don't get too excited about the next 80% of encounters either. No place for pacifism in this game, but their are friendlies around and helpful persons etc that second it takes to think, am i going to pull the trigger, can either get you killed or lead to a more interesting outcome edit I'm being optimistic when I say 80% too
