My humanity seems to stay at zero for awhile and over playing time it returns to normal. Someone suggested returning to the lobby and rentering the game. Not sure if this works though.

I got to thinking how reliable humanity and the hero skin itself will be in the trust issue Whose to say the hero's sole purpose is not to get close to target and distract while the wolves move in to end it all horribly. Good guy heals his murdering sidekicks (and even the target if he wants to) and maintains his false facade while sharing in the fruits of deception. Winning. So yes.. still be afraid..be very afriad It will save you from becoming complacent (and bored)

See them before they see you and attempt to communicate. Don't wait around for a hug if you stumble upon another player either, move on or get to somewhere safe if you can, cover your butt and go from there via chat. Be prepared to die is all I can say if you want to trust someone other than an actual friend. If you do accept or decide to give help, do so and then make yourself scarce. Its a gamble to believe anyone whose says they're friendly especially if all they wanted was a blood transfusion .

Edit. Re-read that and realised it wasn't a question, just an observation. I agree, it is a little "strange" . There really needs to be some way of knowing who initiated an attack I think. As a new character you have less humanity to play with and almost get punished if you defend yourself successfully and survive too many encounters by killing your aggressor. Best bet if you want steady + humanity is to be strictly passive and evade rather than engage and play medic and/or as a more calculated killer of confirmed player killers.

News just in. A bean vendor was found dead in van in never never land last week. Apparently some bandit took offence at being asked if he was hungry. The locals have been put off their beans and pasta.. well off food in general actually. Other news of interest Vegetarianism on the rise in Chernarus. Deforestation. Is it really an issue? Rabbit and other mammal populations out of control. Man killed for grass clippings.

A coastal hermit like me wouldn't know what to do up that way anyway I'm guessing what I'm doing now ..just different

How long are you waiting? It can take awhile.. a good couple of minutes or so for me a lot of the time, especially if the server/s are busy. As far as I know if you get that far into loading your good.. but have to wait..to go. Annoying perhaps.. but tis the way it is.

Somebody found a ghillie or camo and left undies behind I'd say. Once you swap into either of the above, civ clothing is becomes an item in your inventory.

TLDR; Just another dayz story Probably two of the more enjoyable sessions Ive played recently even though I barely progressed. Day 0 Chopper flying around shortly after spawning near cherno. It buggers off and I carry on into town. I'm watching one player and get shot by another to my side. Start bleeding but thats all thankfully. I hide and bandage and then a bunch of ghillie suited dudes burst around the corner tell me to drop my weapon, which I do ..but then ask me to go prone and get naked.. and start laughing.. I had a giggle too, however.. that crossed a line. So i decide to have an anti authority moment and just run around and around one of them which eventually gets me shot. It's not even possible to get naked I know, but that was beside the point. A quick games a good game.. Another Day 0.. Kemenka is swarming with infected and my first recon attempt finds me bleeding. Stop that but am now bandage less and - 4k blood. Not good. Far too many to be comfortable sticking around given that I was currently unarmed. So the plan is to go have a look at the stands to the north, head back to Kamenka and then visit the coastal airfield.. en route to Cherno. Three empty stands and I run myself to the point of needing food and drink..soon. Find myself with the option heading into Kamenka unarmed for a look amongst an unusual amount of zeds or heading north with nothing ..at all. I decide to head back and into Kamenka. So far.. so good. I find three dead players, one with an alice pack and I'm considering grabbing it when an infected bawls at me and starts having a fit. I cant afford to be hit so head to a building ASAP On the way there I meet another unarmed player bleeding and being chased. I decide to run around them and try to get them off him (I was nearly at the point of not worrying about 'life' anyway and figured why not). I do that successfully and run into the building to lose them and have a quick look see on the way through. Just looking for a bandage and drink at this point ..and hopefully a weapon. No returned communication at this point from the other guy and I start getting the bandit sound.. not even sure what the sound means at the moment(?) He was unarmed so no big deal Anyway, I find a bandage, but there is nothing else in there worth getting ganked by infected for, so I decide to leave and try and lose them and this fullah. I sneak out the other door and make my way towards a house. The unspoken one follows me and then starts grabbing infected purposely and continues to follow me. Was amusing for awhile but I figure I will give him some of his own medicine and start running back into town grabbing heaps and then i run out into a field. Sure enough the guy is still following behind the heap of infected, so I double back towards him, duck down after a few circles around him head to cover, break los and head uphill. He doesn't make it to cover and gets the bash. Well that worked out ok I thought..my stalkers dead and the town is reasonably empty I'll head back in and loot. Finally find an axe and something to eat and drink. Then I remember the Alice pack dude, but figure I should just get the hell out there and head to my next objective. At least now I have a hatchet and my belly is full. So I do that and after a while dive under a bush and go the hell to bed. Zzzzz

Shoot when shot at. A dead bandits easier to avoid. or run away like a girl or give them infected to worry about as well and enjoy your suicidal run towards them. All three work for me less often than I need them too.

Happens to me occasionally. I've gotten into the habit of reloading before needing to use my weapon just to check. try Dropping your weapon and then picking it up again Lower/ raise weapon and aiming down the sights Both have fixed it for me in the past May just have been coincidence of course

If these experiences weren't happening would you be enjoying the game? This "Don't get attached to your gear" has just become the way of saying.. enjoy this for what it is at the moment, ignore the crap and have fun. It is possible if you relax a little and realise that life goes on. (hallelujah.. we're all born again dipshits being babptised in the sea. Only to be killed by an identical brother ...eventually). If you are already past that then I can relate to deciding to throwing it in the have a look later basket. Personally I haven't even played ARMA2 yet so if everything becomes unbearable I will just end up playing the game I actually bought. I loved OFP and had actually wondered what became of it and thanks to Dayz i found it again. Blah

Same here. Sometimes if you tilted your head back 45 degrees plus you could catch a glimpse of what ever it was you just tripped over or that open door in the distance to aim for in order to lose the infected you've walked into. Seems to be less of it about now, unless I have just been lucky.

So I will cry about the bandits in the hills instead. They seem to be the main day enders for me at the moment. I hate it when I got beef but die right next to the cow. BBQQ

I agree. The snipers on the hills above cities are the easiest players to avoid I think. I find I die more often just minding my own business inland a little when I let my guard down and it's not normally by sniper fire.

Thanks for the tips, still have things to learn though this isn't a very serious cry. I do head out to hunt and cook but eventually I just head back into a coastal city and see what happens. I'm definitely my own worst enemy in this game, quality not quantity when it comes to dayz alive for me.

Shame your not bleeding as you'd attract zombie sharks Just a note.. I think you need to update your game files if you can still see your body temp. Pretty sure that was removed last patch.

What's the worse that can happen really..someone finds themselves back on the coast ready for the next story. Cracks me up folk trying to come across all threatening and authoritative in this game.
