Finding 1.7.7.1 much better than the previous as far as surviving goes, still get infected but at least its not like every encounter. Prone, buildings and hills all still help losing zeds. As does actually watching their paths, waiting until there backs are turned before moving on etc I've visited a lot more places on the map than I ever used to to find what I'm looking for thanks to loot being more scarce and I actually feel like I've achieved something by staying alive rather than ..oh well I'm dead, but Ill be back to where I am now in 30 minutes

Me too. Although I also regret the few times I have shot someone thinking they were the ones who'd shot at me. Can't win sometimes.

I do know that killing a bandit doesn't lower it as it would killing a survivor but whether it increases it I'm not sure. Humanity has always been a bit iffy, http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Humanity says one thing but who knows how accurate that is or ever was.

Don't mind how bad ass the Z's get but for the love of god could 1 in every x? drop a box of antiB's.. Had two fun sessions yesterday, infected early and the rest of the time fighting to regain blood with food. Day0 session 1 Holed up fighting of zeds, eating every can that I could get off their ugly selves just so as to not pass out right in front of one. Day0 session 2 Found all required to live off the land. Two chickens, one sheep and a few cans here and there only to find myself blind from blood loss and pretty much waiting to die in the middle of um dunno. I loved it, desperation, just wishing for that lucky break to survive but yeah.. nah, some bastid ate all the cows ..probably the same guy with all the antiB's in his tent :P

Try to engage over direct chat out of their sight and go from there.. either run away or give them a chance to interact peacefully. Die a lot. Doesn't concern me much. I'm a lone wolf medic which is a hard road to travel but its how I like to play, which, I guess is the beauty of Dayz; in that you can play how you wish and the key is to deal with the results of your actions (or inaction) and have fun.

Like it. Been away for some time but started playing again after reading the patch notes. But.. For the amount of attention you find yourself getting just to get to the loot that, as said above, zombies seem to camp on, makes it pretty hard when even a hatchet seems to be a rarity. Its also a tad too easy to get infected. Finding antibiotics in some locations that never had loot at all though :) I also feel the character physics don't suit the zombie knock downs. Getting up and running again is too clunky and I find myself screaming 'Get the feck up ya tard and run' Overall though it's nice to not have the half and hour run and find yourself with everything you need to live in the woods until your a ripe old age. 3/4 of a can of beans for this patch

Back after a break and having fun playing city medic. I'll head out and refresh my protein supply and restock my tent but then its back into Cherno or Elektro. Won't shoot unless shot at or I'm pretty someone is responsible for the dead players I've been seeing. I'd say for every five people I encounter, 4.5 will try to kill me on sight and the other half is glad to see me. If I'm bored i'll run around, create a Z train and try and hatchetise as many of them as I can before they overwhelm me.

There's always the escape button, doesn't take that long to leave the scene.

Use commander to get the IP and port of the server then shut it down, crank up Dayz manually and find the server poo 'fix' I know but.. edit to add.. I forgot, there is also an option to shut down commander after launch in settings, maybe that will help.

All well and dandy if there were other significant risks but really without pvp the game is a snooze fest after a couple of days.

This pretty much, bodies around, shots and more obituaries. They are hunting players so let them find you, have your angles and ass covered and be patient. Oh and be quiet, nothing says I'm over here like aggroing zeds and shots fired.. but then again two can play the bait and wait game.

That keeps you playing? Most of these great stories are based on player vs player encounters, do the infected and the environmental aspects really matter for you to still get a kick out of this mod?
