It's only safe because the problem feeds itself . If there was no KoS then there would no reason to KoS. But ego and the troll are in the mix so Utopia we shall not ever see. Half the players unhappy with KoS will kill themselves (not themselves but yeknow) out of fear/paranoia. They expect the rest of Chernarus to change without altering their own behavior. Its also lazy/efficient (?) in that it saves them time, they don't have to find whatever they need themselves and spend all that time being vulnerable looting.

Maybe they do turn each other on. I'm not privy to the private lives of the infected. Some of them do sound like they're having fun.

So all we would need in your scenario is all go live off the land in the middle of nowhere for a few weeks, wait for them to die off and then we could return to the towns and continue killing each other for the beans and coke unhindered. I guess wildlife and matches would become the thing we'd end up fighting over instead so we'd not get bored.

Yep nothing rips your undies more than surviving just to get screwed over by a douche who can't or won't play the game properly. I'm not much more than a coastal hermit but what ever. Normally play between 6-9 pm weekdays.

You can be friendly but unless you want the hero skin be ready to kill someone if they don't behave that way themselves And Id keep 'friendly' encounters as brief as possible especially if your giving them medical attention. Some folk will kill you once they're in a healthier state than when you first met them. Wary of asking another for blood. Get yourself the means to restore it yourself by hunting and cooking critters. A stash of cooked meat in your bag can help relieve some of the pressure when roaming in cities. You can replenish whatever the Z's take from you on your mission and perhaps survive that hole someone decided to put in your torso. Cans o crap doesn't give you enough to help that much. Don't drink or eat before you need to. Both a can of soda and beans will fill your icons (not your blood so much) so your wasting them both by drinking or eating before your seriously red. My rule of thumbs is I don't eat or drink until I've found my next source of either. Have an emergency supply in your bag if for some reason consumables are scarce. Z loot can keep fed and watered. Some say not taking your character seriously and thus a death seriously breaks immersion. I say there is enough crap in the mod that does that anyway so just learn from your mistakes and don't wah wah about losing your life or gear. Have fun, learn, blah blah blah Get a mic, set up direct chat and talk to someone before they see you unless you just wish to let them go on their way oblivious to your existence. Don't run out of bandages. Work hard and be good to your mother.

Not sure which version you've been playing but if a zed is spotting you prone your too close before dropping or just in his path hoping he won't notice you when he trips over your legs. Personally haven't had any issue when prone. Perhaps learn to stop, drop (watch) and roll? (evasive left and right) Have never died of hunger, cold or thirst before death from an unrelated cause. Loot any Z's you kill, they have soda, beans and bandages..sometimes Pvp is harsh if your learning I must say, so many other things to worry about other than players but you'll either get used to it or rage quit. Get a mic for direct chatting to players don't hang about with a dumb look on your face, get out of line of sight. As you've discovered most will shoot you, but not everyone. If you engage rather than choose to avoid do so from a position where you have control you may find you die less often. People shit their dacks if they run into you unexpectedly and more often than not your dead whether they feel any remorse or not. Don't know what else to say other than maybe its not the game for you? And I don't consider myself great at DayZ by any stretch of my own imagination but I don't spit the dummy (much) at games these days I just be go wid da flo bro

Agree If anything it should be the other way around. But a timer at all would be pretty poo really (unless you had a few private servers to jump around to keep you occupied).

If by chance you have found all three of these items.. hatchet, matches and skinning knife.. you will not find an animal especially if your in need of blood. If you only have one of these items you will see the four legged buggers everywhere.

Not up against Z's but other 'things' as well as the environmental factors like food, water, shelter and contagious illnesesisisms. With staves and shtuff not guns etc Maybe something like that already exists and I'm being igno rant?
