Stop wasting time on the mod, fix it up enough so it "doesn't completely broken" (intentionally bad grammar) then move on to standalone where he can spend more time actually addressing problems instead of letting them get so far out of hand nothing can be done. ~Sol

Hoping to have a public alpha available by the end of the year. Also, just FYI... it's not hard to supersede what DayZ mod has done, since it's core mechanics I can count on one hand. DayZ standalone may be another story... ~Sol

Hindsight is always 20/20 they say... I honestly just wish he'd wrap this DayZ mod thing up, and get on with the real deal.... stop adding more broken ass stuff, and just fix it up enough that it's reliable... I honestly want to see where standalone ends up rather than wasting more time here. ~Sol

My first post was a generalization of some fairly harmless things to call people. I wasn't directly attacking anyone, and making it personal. I can't help it if someone felt they were in that category and had to rebut based on emotional discourse... resulting in a personal attack that I simply defended myself from by stating facts.... only then to have my integrity questioned, then dragged through an interrogation process where every tiny thing I said was nit-picked until it was sub-microscopic and a flaw could be found.... all of which amounts to me calling someone a fanboy? Zombies behave nicer, but artifacting isn't always gone and in some cases worse than before. Some people are also having issues with cars and tents losing gear worse than usual... and of course the new "spawn on the beach whenever the game feels like it" feature, which is supposed to be some counter measure for server hopping... though it seems to fire off whenever it feels like it. So far I've spawned on the beach like 10 times (after logging out to fix the artifacts still) or more, and had to RUN back to camp in the far north. Other than that's it's pretty ok... inventory still broken, and database is a mess... you know, the usual. ~Sol

Yay Battleye... They had a big update a couple days back... looks like Battleye is officially not "total shit" any more. Go team. ~Sol

Read the announcements section. The patch is avaialble for optional upgrade... it was supposed to hotfix a few problems, namely the artifacting... but it seems to have caused other problems, and in some cases not even solved existing ones. I would recommend waiting for it to be officially put through to Six Launcher before messing with it. Just my personal suggestion... ~Sol

Hackers change players into all kinds of shit, including dogs. Chances are, it was a player that got polymorphed by some wanky hacker. ~Sol

I'd love to play, but average ping from Australia to the US is about 220-250ms. I'm used to latency like that, so it doesn't bother me... but you'd have to bump the Battleye auto-latency-boot to around 270-280 to be safe. ~Sol

I should have been more clear but you know, most people only read what they want anyway. I replaced the models in the latest "officially supported" version (1.7.2.4) with the animation files from 1.7.2.3, and I no longer have game breaking visibility issues. I'm not sure why they don't just rollback the current build of that file... I can't see anything that they may have changed, not at least for the better. ~Sol

Exactly... even a standard keyboard is 155 keys short for the requirement. I need two and a half keyboards just to play. ~Sol

Money says DayZ mod never sees beta. I say he skipped it, but I should have said "I bet it gets skipped". The reason he should stop adding things, is simple... it's not built for it, the engine is stretched beyond belief so far as it is, and adding more shit is causing more problems than it's worth. I never said my engine was better, at all. I said my game will (hopefully) be better... not that it is or will be... though I don't see anything wrong with being positive. I never said patches weren't fast enough as well, ever... where are you reading this shit from? Again, I never claimed to be better than Rocket, and I certainly didn't "say so". I'm not even upset with Rocket, but I can see where he's going wrong in several areas... perhaps not wrong, but wasting his time that could be better spent working on things that are clearly more important.
