I'm not mad though... Why does everyone think I'm mad and raging? I just changed my play style and made a guide for it... geez :/ ~Sol

I think I'll run out of ammo first... I'm up to 38 murders now and have yet to be even shot at. I used to, now I don't give a fuck :) I'm not 5, and you're extremely rude. What did I do to you? You on ANZ8 being shot by me? No? Then fuck off :) You're free to come and get me. Also, I didn't "start" that way. I made a passing comment that someone challenged. I'm not here to hang my dick out. Notice I didn't mention what the game is or anything else about it apart from it has zombies? Harden the fuck up mate. ~Sol

OK so here's my epic story... I'll try to paraphrase it otherwise we'll both be here all day. This took place in entirety over about 3-4 days of actual play. We had like, 10+ hour sessions from Fri-Sun over the weekend much to the displeasure of my wife. Team up with two friends, it's night. We move through Cherno almost immediately and manage to kit out with some OK guns. We head north (since I'd never even made it off the beach prior to this) and so through some small towns, looting and killing zombies. We make it to Stary Sober and find the skoda. After a few hours of scavenging and sneaking around we repair the car that was kindly pre loaded with guns. we make off north again in our new car until we find a suitable camping area. Next we all decide to scout for fuel since the car was low and we had like 4 empty jerry cans. We all decide to head to the NW airfield since we are camped somewhere nearby. We've never been there before but logic prevails that airfields have fuel and it was our best shot. After a few hundred zombies later and a bunch of new guns we get fuel and decide to head to Cherno again since we are now pretty low on medical supplies. We drive there in the night, and hide the car about 500m out. We decide to loot the hospital and one of our team gets killed by a guy in the apartments across the street. I take some hits and fall unconscious while my last friend manages to bandage me and give me a transfusion. As soon as I'm all fixed, I see the perp running off. I shot him with my 12 guage slug but only winged him, and he vanished. We threw my friends gear in the car and went to pick him up. After recovering him we went to drive back to camp and end our day, only to flip the car over on a washing machine just past Pavolo. We knew the car would flip back over on server restart so we left. End of day 1. As soon as one of us woke up after the previous marathon night, the car was still there (and now right side up) and there happened to be some random dude pilfering through the gear. My axe said hello but I somehow missed and he was startled. He had a double barreled pointed at me, but he ran off almost immediately. I think he was out of ammo, and he was standing next to an upside down red skoda surrounded by piles of zombie corpses, to be freaked the fuck out by a guy with an axe. I noticed after that some wheels were damaged and that's the only reason the car was still there. 5 hours later we finally found some wheels and off we went. Shortly after arriving at camp again, we decided to do an airfield run again, since now we needed fuel and spare parts. Great idea until half way back the server did another random weird reboot, not only causing us to loose the gear we got from all the way back at the hospital and the airfield run we just did (yes we saved the car many many times in between), but three tires were flat again. After a couple more hours of wheel searching and several more server reboots, everything was just gone including our tents and other vehicles. They came back again after several more reboots and the wheels I had repaired were broken again. I gave up, and that ended day 2. The next day someone else had repaired the car before we could get to it... my friend died somehow from the server rebooting so much, and so I decided to go pick him up once again, this time using the dirt bike. On the way I found our little red skoda, crashed headlong into, you guessed it, a washing machine. Two tires broken... luckily my friend had found one already... only one more to get. After a nice drive in the dark with no lights (lucky my monitor is awesome, so even with default gamma values I can KINDA see in the dark a little bit) I picked him up. We got all excited about getting the car back finally and decided to just write off the last bad events and carry-on. On the way back towards camp, and our car which was now up around Vybor area, I stopped to check the map briefly just north of Pustoshka. I pulled just off to the side of the road and stopped. I checked the map for about 5 seconds then heard it... pewpewpewpew a silenced weapon less than 30m away, mowing us both down with two wheels in our packs, our car just up the road, and our motorcycle now lying on it's side, motor still running. That was the end of it all. It's not even that though, which makes me change my play style. I was happy enough to die there (even though I was annoyed like FUCK) because I knew if I was in that dudes shoes, I would have killed me too because we had a motorbike and he didn't. At least he would have been like "FUCK YEAH", and had a legit reason to do it... even though had he been friendly he would have had access to all our other shit too (which is now somewhere in US 1192 in the forest, north-west of the NW airfield) but that's another story in itself. What did change me however, is reading the forums and realising I'm fighting a useless battle, and to make life easier on myself I'll become what I hate. I'm not blaming the community at all, they just made it obvious that what I was doing was wrong. ~Sol

This explains why I find that gun impossible to use. I might not need this DMR after-all.... ~Sol

I don't, that shit is nasty... I much prefer Maker's Mark or Chivas Regal... Also, I'm no psychologist but I detect a hint of "yeah right" in your post >.> or maybe you REALLY do like Tequila. I've been an indie dev for about 20 years and have been working on a project for about 7-8 months now with two other guys. We will hopefully have a beta out by December. It involves zombies. It's not a game you have heard of yet, but hopefully will have in about 2 months when we officially announce it. I am the project director and lead artist. I can't code to save my life, but I understand code logic, and game logic. I don't have to prove anything to you, but maybe you won't think I'm full of shit now. ~Sol

I use an L85 to spot peeps.... then change to DMR to actually shoot them... I find the DMR a much nicer gun to work with. Just FYI, I'm 33 and a bored but successful (enough to waste my time here, anyway) business man... I'm also a gave developer and using DayZ as a field experiment. ~Sol

I can end your misery... log on to ANZ8 and come wander around in the forest a little :) ~Sol

SO DUMB :P ~Sol

Yeah, because they taught me how to play the game dude... I'm passing the message on? Why 0/10? Do you think my guide is poorly written or structured? What advice do you have to improve it? Are you some kind of pseudo-psychology major? I'm really interested how you can "tell" these things from text (to which you cannot possibly know the overtone used while I'm transcribing them). That's a cheapshot troll response on it's own... Your spelling and reasoning abilities clearly out-do mine! ~Sol

Y U SO MAD BRO? You're all butthurt because I posted a thread about how to play? Wow man you should really get out more and stop trolling my "how to play" thread. ~Sol
-
Are you talking to me? You got me on the middle aged part, but what makes you think I am an underachiever? The opposite is true, in fact... but whatever floats your boat mate. Don't let me ruin your fantasy. All this thread was about, is the fact that I have been playing the game wrong. I was under the impression it was a zombie survival game, but clearly it's a deathmatch game with some annoying zombies here and there. I'm just playing the game how it's been designed to play from now on, that's all. ANZ 8, on the side of some hill in the woods north of Cherno... it's pitch black but I have NVGs so come get me :D Thanks man. High five and bro-fist all at the same time. ~Sol

My thread isn't dumb. You're dumb. ~Sol

5 down so far... loads more bullets remaining. Come get some :3 ~Sol

My dick is bigger than your dad. ~Sol

Big deal.... I'll go hug zombies until I spawn at Kamanka, then run for 30 mins to the NW airfield and get another one... then come find you and spawn kill you over and over again. I still have have 2 ATVs, so finding you should be rather painless. ~Sol

I did all of that. I can tell you a story you probably won't read, because it would be over 50 pages long. I have had some EPIC journeys... to have them ruined each and every time by either a scripting hacker that nukes the whole server, or some griefing noob that kills me and doesn't even bother to take my gear. I lost a car AND a motorcycle at the same time from being assassinated, and it was rather FUN. Having your ass handed to you non-stop by players who merely seek to kill mercilessly, for no reason other than to ruin peoples fun is just too great. I've essentially become fed up with it all, and now I'm going to join the team. ~Sol

I have one of those for scanning for victims. It shoots like poo though. I figure since DayZ was made to be a greifer paradise, to easily ruin other peoples fun... I may as well play the game as per design. ~Sol

Servers with no PVP, for those to kill just Z's

We don't need "rules", just an effective way to log and deal with hackers and griefers. ~Sol -

I am against dickheads and assholes, so now 90% of you guys have to uninstall the game so I can play unhindered. ~Sol -
Griefer, Hacker, and ALT+F4 - Not yet another thread
Sol (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
THIS IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE "SOLUTION" THREAD This is the resolve we need right here. Out of the thousands of threads with this plea... "fix the hackers" or "fix the alt+f4'ers". Give us the means. We already know what doesn't work or is having little effect, or IMO is likely to cause more problems than it will solve; - Battleye (What a joke. It's worse than PunkBuster, which is already the worst thing ever) - The ARMA 2 engine's ability to allow heavy modification in just about every way - Recording data to try and get a computer to figure out who is doing dodgy shit and ban them (but hopefully nobody else) so, I made this post in another thread but here it is again, slightly revised and modified: Like all other things in life, there are always rules and laws. I know, that while many of them are "made to be broken", most people can discern the difference between "right and wrong" or the "50 shades of grey". There should simply be rules in place where, if enough evidence is captured of players performing unsportsmanlike behaviour can be banned through submission and review. Tracking data and making life hard for people who have kids, run a business, have unexpected visitors, internet trouble (thanks, rainy weather) is really just crazy. If the community gets fed up enough by this behaviour that "can't be fixed because of X reason" then give us the means and power to do it ourselves. Then and only then will we stop seeing endless threads about the topic, and endless posts of Rocket repeating the same thing over and over again to everyone. Give us the ability to submit these screenshots and videos, and a way to more easily identify a player by name since everyone looks like a fucking clone of the next guy (I love APB Reloaded customization... you can't get any two players confused), and follow up by banning the individuals who cause the problem. When you die, you should be presented with your killers name, not for realism but for policing hackers that insta-kill entire servers worth of people from some place you can't even see them. For reporting the players that constantly seek to kill on sight, anyone and everyone, not for a non-gameplay realted reason but merely to grief. Quite simply if someone submits a video recording of a player displaying poor behaviour, like ALT+F4 or server hopping to move covertly, griefing and hacking players, or anything else deemed inappropriate... get enough "strikes" they get banned for life. Simple as that. No need for any more "solutions". Give us the power and the means, and the hackers and griefers and ALT+F4'ers will all be gone. If the community truly hates it so much, we will make it happen if you give us the means. The data collection system is still going to need review on a case by case basis for people getting falsely hackusated by the server bot anyway, so why not use the man-power more proactively and hand-ban the hand-full of douchebags that ruin it for everyone else. The biggest deterrent for playing in a shitty way will be having a real and absolute consequence. ~Sol -
Thread number 6123 on this very topic. Search button... it's there for a reason. ~Sol

YAY! Finally an idea that isn't "PUT DAYZ ON XBOX HURRRRRR" I bet it drowns in the next 30 minutes never to be seen again. I support this thread. ~Sol

Case and point. Yet another highly intelligent and well thought out post by a sterling example of what-the-fuck-I-was-talking-about. ~Sol
