Forgot to mention this, I was on the old US434. Where could I see such a list of those servers you speak of?

To answer the thread question, my opinion is no, it will not survive or it will change to something completely different from the Mod some of us discovered and enjoyed in 2012. Splitting up this 'game' between the original Mod and the SA was the absolute worst thing which could have happened. It split up the player base, slowed down development in both of them and now, to an outsider, all this is just a confusing mess: A mod which only has a few original servers and more and more stupid mod mods which just changed the game for the worse, or a 'Standalone' which when you ask why is it so bad, everyone just hides behind the "it's still in development" line... The general play style has also degraded a whole lot. I've been playing back when the Mod was more for survival, as intended, took a long break and now I've given it a shot again. I started out with a little experiment: I spawned and went unarmed to the outskirts of Cherno where, of course, I got shot on sight. I didn't try to hide or panic when being shot at, I just wanted to see what would happen. The troubling thing is that I did this continuously for a couple of hours (about 10 lives) in random locations around the area, and every single time, no exceptions, no one tried to communicate, no one answered me, they just shot (and it wasn't just one kiddie sniper wannabe, I heard different guns almost all the time). TLDR: No, Dayz as it was intended a zombie apocalypse survival game, will not survive.

influx of SA players to the mod
cucu (DayZ) replied to georgiapeach's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes, this is exactly what we need! SA players realizing that SA is still far from finished/playable/enjoyable and come back to vanilla Dayz Mod (not the mod mods like epoc and overpooch things) -
No Servers in Steam Browser
cucu (DayZ) replied to Skydive (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
didn't want to open a new topic for this: on a similar note, is there a way to filter out epoch/overpoch servers from the multiplayer menu when launching with steam? I am not interested in any of those mods and it's a waste of time having to browse past them all the time when looking for a proper Dayz Mod server. -
It may be nice to have a tweaked temp system which would not deterr players from travelling. Especially when starting out, you're looking at forest running for a good while. I'm thinking of something like your temperature should rise much quicker when indoors/next to a fire/in a vehicle and it should decrease slowly (slower than now) when walking, standing outsite. For example, a day of running outsite, with stopping from time to time for look around would seem to be a balanced way to keep the temp constant (running = overheating slowly + stopping = cooling down slowly - all good) On another note, I found a fireaxe on a rooftop and I could not pick it up (no option to loot). I don't think this was just a prop, could it be a new bug?

didn't know this...

This may very well have been done on purpose. Think about it: this would mean much more $ for the devs if they 'force' players to get the standalone (by 'introducing' all kinds of game breaking features in updates of the free mod) Most probably this is also the reason they are taking their sweet time with the standalone, they give hope that someday it will be good, and more and more people buy it... but that's another topic...

So no continuity? Nothing to do but kill random people and hack?
cucu (DayZ) replied to Hysterics's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
@Op: I feel the same way. My only light at the end of the tunnel is WarZ. Really hope it's going to kick dayz's ass :) -
I will not pay for the standalone version! As many of the dayz players, I payed for Arma2 just to play DayZ. If the devs don't continue to develop the mod at the same pace as the standalone after release, it will be a very bad move from their side. No matter how little it will cost, I will not pay for the same thing twice. They should have kept dayz in closed alpha, and release it later, or tell us about the standalon sooner, so we would have had a choice. Bad move devs! I can only hope that WarZ will be everything that Dayz cannot be.

killed a man at cherno towers
cucu (DayZ) replied to maxron123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes, that is a very interesting story and completely worth creating a new topic good job -
If he really is 13, creating this topic was pointless. He would have had more luck crying to his parents to buy him another copy. After all, I am sure he did not buy the game from his hard earned cash.

Well this was pointless. To be honest I had higher expectations from this community but it turns out that although at any give time there are thousands of people here, no one is giving any useful advice. I found more answers from external sources rather than from here. This place seems full of frustrated children rather than helpful members. Shame on you dayz community! I will try to reply with the same answer I got, I will keep the solution for myself.

lol, me too, it just hurt while trying to read it -
nice catch. These kind of players are talking out the fun of this "zombie survival" game.
