  1. It will attempt to run but players won't be able to connect (it won't get past authenticating). Switching to default is always recommended. DayZ 1.7.5.1 does not apply to any map other than Chernarus.
  2. When we're ready to deploy the new version (it should be less than an hour) we will start doing rolling restarts with 10 minute warnings on all servers. ALL servers must be restarted to apply the new ArmA2 Beta patch. This will be handled by us and does not require your intervention. If you are running Chernarus and using a custom PBO your server will NOT WORK until you remove your pbo, start your server, download the default pbo and make your modifications again. The pbo files are very different. Namalsk will NOT WORK if you update to DayZ 1.7.5.1 - it will tell you you are running the wrong version of DayZ, you must downgrade to play Namalsk. Caveats - The following additional bliss features are not working in 1.7.5.1: per-user custom inventories wrecks care packages Messaging should work and buildings tables definitely work. We do NOT support old versions of DayZ, so please don't ask to downgrade. EDIT: We are starting the updates now, rolling restarts on all servers with 10 minute warnings.
  3. I think so? I don't really understand the question. Mission file updates are part of map updates, if we didn't update the mission the map wouldn't work.
  4. We expect to have it working by the end of the day, would have it sooner but real life commitments slowing us down.
  5. Okay we are moving all of the San Jose servers to a new datacenter in Los Angeles on FEBRUARY 15 PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH OUR SUBNET BEING GIVEN AWAY, THE IP'S BELOW HAVE CHANGED Here are the new IP's that the servers will be moving to: SAN JOSE 01 - OLD: 50.23.115.101 - NEW: 192.31.185.200 SAN JOSE 02 - OLD: 50.23.65.14 - NEW: 192.31.185.201 SAN JOSE 03 - OLD: 50.23.115.85 - NEW: 192.31.185.205 SAN JOSE 04 - OLD: 50.23.113.232 - NEW: 192.31.185.203 SAN JOSE 05 - OLD: 50.23.113.238 - NEW: 192.31.185.204 - SAN JOSE 05 WILL NOT BE MOVED UNTIL LATER MOST SERVERS HAVE NOW BEEN MOVED, SAN JOSE 05 WILL BE MOVED EITHER TOMORROW OR MONDAY We are starting a presence at Black Lotus in Los Angeles because of their stellar DDoS protection capabilities, and encourage any servers that are affected by the random DDoS attacks to move their servers there when they become available.
  6. Desync is and always will be due to either database load or localized server load, it has absolutely nothing to do with the database location. An extra 50-60ms added to the already-scarce database queries will not cause desync. We are not maintaining 400 different pbo combinations, frankly that suggestion is inane and uninformed. Not to mention each has to be built with the correct instance ID anyway. And no the code for heli crashes does not require the changing of one letter, you can change one letter in the compiled pbo and the crashes will spawn but like I said they will use the wrong loot table, and the UH60 crashes will not spawn at all (which means DayZ+ is not 'fully working'). Changing 'one letter' in the pre-compiled files will completely break the bliss merger, and until I have more time to figure out why the only solutions are to either remove dayz+ completely or leave heli crashes non-spawning until the issue is resolved, I chose the latter. Had I known that DayZ+ had different helicopter crashes beforehand I would have made sure this was fixed before it was released, but there is a new map/mod every week and we can only spend so much time testing them, I made sure the zombies worked correctly and the building of structures worked correctly and then I made the release, nowhere in the documentation (if you can even call it that) did it mention that there were different helicopter crashes or I would have checked into it. Obviously you haven't actually used this package, because it does not work, especially not on every map. Wrong. Our base DayZ+ database uses all of the spawns and vehicles from this SQL: https://github.com/Stapo/DayZ-Private-Server-Lite-Plus/blob/master/DayZUtilities/Resources/Database%20Schema/hivemind.sql - formatted for bliss. There are 42 vehicles and 100 spawns, exactly as they should be. The object_spawns table is not utilized by anything in our system and never has been. Considering that it's basically a negative review of how we handle things, which has quite a bit of incorrect information in it I feel it necessary to defend ourselves so people don't get the wrong idea. I also think it's ludicrous to blame us for bugs in the bliss software, it's like blaming a minecraft host for bugs in bukkit or a CSS host for bugs in srcds. I can tell you that there isn't a single hosting company out there that has working bliss messages by default, nor a fully working DayZ+ by default (with the possible exception of vert, who had support from the developer when making their bliss port - we did not). And we do not even advertise having the messages feature because it is broken. In fact we don't even advertise the buildings feature, even though it works pretty reliably. Criticizing us for something not working when we never said it was is idiotic.
  7. We updated the createvehicle filter last night for DayZ+, we attempted to have the script updater make a comparison between the base createvehicle.txt and the one in a user's directory and if there was a difference not to overwrite it - that may not have worked as intended.
  8. Sigh... Yes we are aware of the double building spawns, no we do not know how to fix it because guess what: we are a server host, we did not write bliss, which is what has the bugs in the first place. We do not employ people to write our own private hive software, we simply use what is available - you are expecting too much, and we have always been extremely hesitant to make modifications to bliss because of its ongoing development. Now that ayan has abandoned the project we will have to reconsider our strategy towards it. Since you are such a power user you can fix the problems and recompile the PBO on your server, why are you blaming us for problems with bliss? Mind boggling. Yes we host the database in the US, yes we are working on creating an EU endpoint, no it is not as easy as 'setting up a Debian box with MySQL and PMA'. No it is not a priority because saving 60ms on database queries does not reduce lag very much, if at all. The only reason we are even bothering is for failover databases in case the primaries crash, slightly decreased latency for EU servers is just a side effect. MySQL replication is absolutely terrible at the moment and thus we have to come up with a better solution. Yes we are fully aware that there are UH1Y and UH60 wrecks in DayZ+, no we cannot just change the class names in the code and have it work as it breaks all of the bliss merging functions and the loot tables are completely different. All I said about the messages table is that we do not guarantee that it works in any shape or form, we compile bliss --with-messages and if they don't work then they don't work, again we DID NOT WRITE BLISS (shocker, I know) - I would've told you to go open tickets with the author if it was still being maintained, but it isn't. I accidentally left an object_spawns table in the base dayz+ database, it is never utilized by bliss and I have dropped it from the default install, not that it has any affect whatsoever on anything. DayZ+ does not have a bliss port so we created our own, I imported the object_spawns table from the dayz+ lite package and used it to form the world_vehicle table and forgot to delete it, not something that is earth shattering. We are working on FTP, it isn't ready, and we make it very clear that we do not have FTP access upfront. If you want complete control over your server go get a VPS, said it a hundred times - we are a managed host, we have an easy-to-use interface for people who don't have the time or desire to read through hundreds of forum threads and increasingly sparse documentation learning how to do things. We do what we can to accomodate the minority but there is just no pleasing some people. We make it absolutely clear what we offer as far as hosting goes and then people sign up and demand more and when their demands aren't met they start ranting on the forums, it's absolutely ridiculous.
  9. We're aware of the heli crash spawning but don't have a good fix yet. Will look into the terrorist suit - do you happen to know the classname of the item?
  10. I think we fixed the DayZ+ createvehicle restriction kick, I ran around for an hour and didn't see any of the new medical boxes that caused the kicks so I'm not totally sure if it worked, but in theory it should. Someone let me know if it still is kicking.
  11. Only reason that would happen is if Gamespy is returning invalid data or the website can't talk to gamespy. Try going to http://dayz.st/ajax?a=test&ip=111.111.11.111&port=3000 - replace ip and port with yours.
  12. Did you 'realized' that BattlEye can handle all of these things and other customers don't have any problems using BattlEye to manage their bans list? Yeah we're going to release the list of IP addresses that the san jose servers will be moving to, and we can probably reserve an ip/port for you on the extra servers, just send an e-mail [email protected] and tell them I said it was ok. There should be more serv.st servers up soon, we ordered some but they haven't been setup yet - hopefully will be available tomorrow, I've gotta bother CK to set them up.

    Dayz+ hosting providers?

We also sell DayZ+ servers, for what it's worth.
  14. This is yet another issue with FTP that we have to address, the files are not portable between datacenters so if anyone changes hives or locations all of their settings will be erased. Other providers do not allow you to change locations so they don't have to worry about this. Additionally we often replace the BattlEye filters to account for new maps when they are released - other hosts are unmanaged so they also do not have to worry about this. Yes you can host arma2 on linux, no you can't host DayZ on linux - genius. DayZ uses something called HiveExt to run the persistent hive which is written in C# and does not run on linux without windows emulation. Maybe let's not assume that I'm an idiot and actually know what I'm doing given that we have thousands of happy customers (other than you apparently). This is not an efficient use of my time - FTP access will be ready when it is ready - if you are not happy with our services please go elsewhere rather than complaining on a public forum about a service we never promised to provide in the first place. I would gladly offer you a full refund for your most recent payment. Obviously you know more than I do about my own company's motivations, and hosting DayZ servers in general so maybe you should go start your own company, on linux, with ftp access, and blackjack and hookers.
  15. To those with server access problems you need to contact us by e-mail at [email protected] and include your control panel username, we don't know who you are from the info you posted in the forums. Also Side Chat should be fixed on the new maps, additional bliss features (buildings, care packages, kill messages, messaging, etc.) do not work on these maps until we can do some testing. Competitors are offering FTP because it is built into the crappy TCadmin panel that they all use, just because you constantly spam the public forums about FTP does not mean it is a highly requested feature. Never did we market ourselves as having FTP nor provide any sort of timeline for FTP availability. Our company does not exist just to serve you - if our competitors are so great then feel free to switch to them, nobody is holding a gun to your head. For every person we get asking about FTP access we get 20 requests (from CURRENT customers) for new maps being added, and when we are sold out we get hundreds of questions asking when we will have more availability, so guess what takes priority? And finding a solution to the DDoS attacks is far more important than both of these because they result in server downtime, so most of our time (and quite a lot of money) is being spent on the new datacenter. Also adding new maps is not some triviality that takes 5 seconds, we have to make massive code changes across our entire infrastructure to support them - often taking several days of planning before we even start working on it. Especially for something like DayZ+ which does not have a bliss port where we had to develop and test one on our own. I've been through 15 different FTPd's for windows, we need something that is reliable, can chroot, has per-file access restrictions (rather than per-directory), and most importantly has a user database that can be edited live (without restarting) by an external program and not using active directory, which is much harder to find than you seem to think. We may end up having to write our own FTP software. And no you cannot host DayZ on Linux without emulating windows nor would we ever consider it.
  16. Added new maps: DayZ+ DayZ+ is a mod where you can build your own bases and structures and it has a bunch of other tweaks to the base DayZ game to make it unique - see http://dayzplus.com for more details. Thirsk & Thirsk (Winter) Thirsk is a very small map that by default only has ATV's and motorcycles as vehicles. Thirsk (Winter) is a snow-covered version of the same map. Isla Duala Isla Duala is a new map from the creator of Lingor and Taviana, it is quite large and well-developed and is a fun alternative to Chernarus or Taviana. All of the new maps are compatible with our map tool already. The bliss optional packages (buildings, custom inventories, etc.) are currently disabled for the new maps until we do some testing. rMod *should* work with the new maps but has not yet been tested. Isla Duala is not yet compatible with DayZCommander, Josh said he'd be pushing the update that fixes the problem tonight or tomorrow (more likely tomorrow because he seems to be asleep). We are still in discussion with the developer of DayZ Origins and hope to have an update regarding its status soon.
  17. Honestly, we are doing our best, I still haven't found a suitable FTP server for windows that can implement FTP the way we want to. I'm personally working on new maps right now - we get hundreds of requests every day for different new features and we implement the ones that are most requested. FTP isn't actually that high. You came in the channel spamming and cursing, those sorts of actions tend to get you ignored - we are a little behind on e-mails due to two support reps being sick and they will be caught up with soon.
  18. No there will not be any better options for Singapore, datacenters with real DDoS mitigation are very hard to come by and there sure as hell aren't any in Asia or Australia. That said, Black Lotus (our new Los Angeles provider) has a very extensive network in Asia and pings should be significantly lower than San Jose - try pinging 199.59.162.167
  19. Send us an e-mail [email protected] Also send us an e-mail, we can enable custom files for you. I don't know of any good (or any at all really) datacenters in south america, so it's unlikely.
  20. There is no way your e-mail took 2 to 6 weeks to respond to, if you didn't get an answer within 24 hours then we never got the e-mail or it got deleted for being marked as spam by google (our mail system is through google)... The hive forum is for community support, our staff do not monitor it. There is IRC support which is immediate if anyone is available - see http://dayz.st/contact
  21. Another round of attacks tonight it seems... Washington DC 05 (173.192.200.91) is offline. Dallas 07 (173.192.70.135) is offline. Dallas 03 (75.126.39.68) is back online. London 07 (185.2.138.76) is back online. Seattle 07 (50.23.131.238) is back online. Dallas 05 (208.43.33.119) is back online. Washington DC 12 (50.97.49.68) is back online. Washington DC 09 (173.192.200.126) is back online. Singapore 06 (119.81.31.18) is back online. We are working with the datacenter to try and mitigate some of this. Said it before but we are opening a new location at Black Lotus in Los Angeles in a couple weeks that will have built-in DDoS protection, and we will be moving the San Jose servers there, if you want protection it is advised that you move your servers to LA as soon as servers there are available.
  22. To those asking, new servers should be coming in pretty much everywhere (except San Jose, Salt Lake, and possibly London) on Monday afternoon (usually before 5PM CST) London usually takes an extra day so it will be up Tuesday. We are moving all of our San Jose servers to Los Angeles (to Black Lotus, a company well-known for DDoS protection) soon - before the 19th of February. Any servers at high risk for DDoS will be asked to move there when the location is online. We will be posting IP changes soon so servers in San Jose can start notifying their players.
  23. Yeah and I'm pretty sure you can actually edit all of the filter files through BattlEye, there's just no GUI frontend for it. I read that somewhere, not sure if it's accurate I haven't had time to look.

    Looking for a host.

Probably better off getting a VPS
