    Buying a server help!

We do not yet offer Overwatch, so you can rule us out for now.
  2. No clue what that means, BattlEye is an option in the control panel. E-mail [email protected] if you're looking for support, the inbox is clear (and of the few emails that I saw in there none of them mention battleye).
  3. Didn't know, they haven't updated their threads, posted anything on twitter, or updated their websites. (hfb has updated their website, didn't see before posting). I was more referring to dayzpriv though since as far as I know they are the only large competitor of ours outside of breaking point. All I found about vilayer were unasnwered posts: http://opendayz.net/threads/install-overwatch-on-vilayer-dayz-server.12710/ http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/143820-install-ovetwatch-on-vilayer-dayz-server/ We'll consider Overwatch soon - sahrani is done I believe, Overwatch can be next.
  4. Nobody offers Overwatch hosting, we are generally the first to offer support for a new map or mod. Most of our competitors don't even have epoch or sahrani yet. Newer dayz mods change more and more files and have more and more convoluted server systems since the death of the unified hive architecture of bliss which take us longer to try and implement and support with our control panel with as many features enabled as possible. To the person trying to get our support to help with your BattlEye filters, we do not generally do that - it is your responsibility to find BattlEye filters that work, modified BE filters are in the realm of 'customization' (similar to modified PBO's) for which we offer little or no support. Additionally, as I said several times, Overwatch servers were a magnet for DDoS attacks and we do not want this sort of traffic on our network. We have no control over the breaking point server browser, and they insist on requiring it to play breaking point - the frequency that they refresh the list of active servers is unknown to us. If your server says it is 'running' in your control panel then it is running, there is an IP and port listed so you can check for yourself. If it is not showing up in their server browser and your server shows as running you'll have to ask them why.
  5. We do not currently. We may introduce it in the future - initially we didn't want to because servers running overwatch were ddos magnets. If that has changed we will reconsider it.
  6. As far as I know they are still very unstable/feature incomplete - but I've been out of town the last 4 days.
  7. Updated to Epoch 1.0.1.5 while forums were down. Sahrani should be available very soon.
  8. I have no idea who you are or what your e-mail address is, but the inbox has been quite clear lately so maybe your e-mails aren't getting through for some reason. If you're the one asking about the RPT log then click view logs in your control panel and voila there it is. If you are the one looking to run more than 50 slots I responded to all those e-mails yesterday. Here's what I've been telling people: If you want to run more than 50 slots you need to purchase a dedicated server from us as our shared servers do not have CPU's that will run more than 50 slots, you will have full administrator access to the server and we will install our server manager software that makes it work with our control panel. Please note we cannot allow Breaking Point official servers on the dedicated machines as per our agreement with BP. Here is what we have available in Germany, Amsterdam, and Washington DC: Intel Xeon E3-1230v2 3.30GHz 2x500GB SATA or 1x60GB SSD 100mbps port 8GB RAM (+$15 for 16GB) 5TB premium bandwidth (+$70 for 10TB) $90/m Intel Xeon E3-1270v2 3.50GHz 2x500GB SATA or 1x60GB SSD 100mbps port 8GB RAM (+$15 for 16GB) 5TB premium bandwidth (+$70 for 10TB) $100/m These are available at Washington DC, Dallas, Amsterdam, London, Singapore, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and San Jose: Intel Xeon E3-1230v2 3.30GHz 2x1TB SATA 8GB RAM 1gbps port 100TB premium bandwidth $225/m Intel Xeon E3-1270v2 3.50GHz 2x1TB SATA 16GB RAM 1gbps port 100TB premium bandwidth $270/m We do not have any available currently in Los Angeles with DDoS protection however (unless you're willing to pay a fairly sizable setup fee and wait a week or two). Send an e-mail to [email protected] if you are interested. Just because YOU weren't the target of the attack doesn't mean someone else on the same server as you wasn't. Other providers have no DDoS protection whatsoever, or very little. They are simply not as popular so they don't have to deal with the attacks (or if you talk to my partner he thinks they are the ones attacking us). I'm sure whoever you 'got to DDoS you' had a very small botnet, as I've said repeatedly things change when you are suffering >10gbps attacks. We are very fortunate to have DDoS protection at Los Angeles available as an option, and hope to make Chicago available as soon as possible as well. I'm really not that informed about Epoch, I think I was told that problem was with 1.0.1.4 itself but I'm not sure. If whoever responded to you said they were looking into it they've probably taken initiative on the matter. I'm personally working on BP private hive support atm.
  9. Correct, we don't offer more than 50 slot servers because the E5's can't do more than 50. If it's worth it to you we can probably sell you a dedicated server with our control panel software running on it, contact [email protected] if you're interested. We have a couple people with E3-1270's that host 4 high slot servers comfortably, but they aren't cheap. We have them in everywhere except Los Angeles, and additionally in Germany.
  10. There is a support team hired to handle support inquiries, I'm management. Contact [email protected] with questions like that. Also we have no ETA on Sahrani. It is a DDoS attack caused by one of our customers being a repeated target. We recommend you move your servers to Los Angeles if you want DDoS protection, that is all we can do. We will likely have to force them to move to Los Angeles soon and hopefully they will stop attacking that server. They just moved to Los Angeles, hopefully the attacks will stop.
  11. Move your server to Los Angeles if you want DDoS protection. As far as I know we are the only DayZ host offering any sort of DDoS protection whatsoever, through Los Angeles. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=dayz+ddos+protection This is simply because there are very very few places in the world that can protect UDP-based game servers from attack. Most DDoS protection solutions are designed to protect websites and database servers only. CloudFlare only protects websites, we called Prolexic and offered to pay anything it takes and they said they can only protect websites. Almost every other service (besides one in Chicago that we are working on securing a deal with) generally outsources their protection to Black Lotus in LA, which means the traffic has to bounce through LA before it reaches the server, which will dramatically increase ping and defeat the purpose of having geographically diverse servers. DDoS protection appliances also don't protect UDP traffic, for example Cisco Guard has no UDP protection whatsoever, Arbor TMS has very basic options for UDP filters, but one of their appliances that will protect up to 10gbps (the largest they offer, not enough to protect us against some of the attacks we get) costs approximately $70,000. Fortigate has good UDP filtering, but only has an appliance protecting against attacks up to 3gbps (http://www.fortinet.com/products/fortiddos/300A.html) - We are very lucky to have worked out a deal with Black Lotus to offer servers there at the same price as the other locations. Most "DDoS attacks" you hear about are tiny and easy to mitigate, we get attacks as large as 30gbps sometimes, which is a whole different ballpark.
  12. We also allow you to upload custom server side mods - there should be no reason to ever edit the command line, changing the -mod argument isn't necessary because all the pbo's in the @bliss/addons folder will get loaded by default, and users have full access to that directory by FTP. What we don't allow is editing the game files themselves because of how our system is setup.
  13. We are now offering Breaking Point servers (it is an option under the Map selection dropdown) See here for info about Breaking Point: http://www.thezombie...breaking-point/ Download the Launcher and server browser here: http://dayzbreakingp...eakingPoint.exe You will not be able to use DayZ Commander, you have to use their launcher. These are servers hosted on their 'Official' hive which means you won't have full control over them like other private hives. You will be able to stop/start/restart, change a few settings, and FTP in to modify the GCAM config file and download logs, but all other FTP actions are locked. Also we haven't applied a small update that they released this morning so occasionally when the first player connects to the server they won't be able to get in and should retry. This will be fixed soon.

    Average ticket support response time

You're looking at somewhere between weeks and months, if at all.
  15. The BattlEye servers have been down for roughly 24 hours now I believe - it's affecting everyone, even people that aren't our customers. Someone has launched a DDoS attack against it. You won't be able to use RCon commands until it is back online.
  16. I only saw spam in the "General" forum. I never created the forum with any intention to moderate it, it was requested by a couple of customers when we first started (who I'm pretty sure are no longer around) and they said they would moderate it - if anyone else wants to feel free to step up. I've deleted all users that signed up since June 18 (since that seems to be when the spambots started) and all of the posts they made. I'm sorry if that also deleted some legitimate users. I've also changed the captcha question so that bots are less likely to know the answer. (it is 'what is the nickname of the creator of dayz' - A: rocket, which I think anyone that plays a decent amount of DayZ should know)
  17. Sorry no, people can max out an entire cpu core with 10 slots by loading it up with junk like buildings, vehicles, BE filters and custom mods, so 50 slots are standard. We assume 1 server will use 1 core.

how do i update my dayz st server to 1.7.7.1

We do managed servers, so you don't have to do anything. All servers were automatically updated to 1.7.7.1 last night. If you were using custom mission or server PBO's you need to reset them to defaults for your server to work properly.

    DayZ Mod 1.7.7.1 Hotfix

For what it's worth we've received significantly less complaining from our thousands of customers (server owners) since 1.7.7.1 - mostly because the bugs are fixed I assume. I personally liked the difficulty in 1.7.7 - perhaps the game needs a 'hard mode' toggle. Maybe you can tie it in with the arma difficulties (recruit, regular, veteran, expert)
  20. Working on it. We have updated the servers to 1.7.7.1 - there were far too many changes required to BattlEye filters for us to do per-server updates, so what we did instead is move the BattlEye folder to a folder called oldBattlEye, you can access it by FTP (but don't just move them back or your server won't work because you will get kicked on login). We preserved the BattlEye ban lists that you had set. It is up to you to manage your BattlEye filters from now on (unless we see a marked increase in hacking, but the filters we had weren't very protective anyway). You can look through these forums to find updated BattlEye filters, but I don't think there are any for 1.7.7.1 yet. Also you need to reset your PBO files to default if you were using custom ones - a lot of changes were made. If your server isn't working and everything is default, try restarting it, and then if you still experience problems please contact our support team at [email protected] Also the $15 first month promo is over.
  21. Planning on doing it tonight, failing that definitely tomorrow afternoon. EDIT: 1.7.7 update is complete - you must reset your PBO's to defaults or your server will not work. We no longer support 1.7.6.1, please do not ask to downgrade - it is not possible. Please also be aware that 1.7.7 only applies to Chernarus currently. All other maps are still running off of the 1.7.6.1 (or earlier) base DayZ code. Another thing of note - the game no longer appears to force start when the first player joins anymore, so you have to wait until it starts the game on its own (usually 3-5 minutes after the first person joins), you will sit at "Requesting Authentication, Retrying Authentication" after your server is restarted until the game begins and you can login. Also some people who have modified their BattlEye filters may have problems, the default filters that we setup (which are very basic) work fine and we have tested them, if you have made any changes you will need to resolve those issues on your own. This thread may be of use, it has links to updated BattlEye filters for 1.7.7 that I have been told work. You can also contact [email protected] and request that your filters be reset to defaults, but we have quite a support backlog right now due to the update so an answer may take some time.
