Public servers are basically the hunting grounds of hackers my friend. Best choice is to find a private server, preferably whitelisted and active admins. -

I think an important thing for those who wish to keep them, along with presented ideas in this topic, is to keep your memory settings to default, so your game doesn't eat up so much CPU that it feels like a hippo is trying to feed off your computer to keep it running. Everything else so far is highly suitable. -
As a 14 year old who has played with several throughout my DayZ career, I don't prefer answering to the question of what age is suitable for the use of this game. But from my point of view, I will respect those who have a sense of maturity and respect in their actions, whether it relies on their attitude or behavior, or their experience in-game, preferably the former.

To be perfectly honest, I am amazed that hackers are still present in public hives when the multitude of players have transferred to private hives. It's like the public servers have simply become a playground for them, just to screw around in, forever alone. It's like the hackers have become far stupider than they originally were, because they are screwing up in their original intent. -

There was an original intent to add dogs to DayZ a few months back. Don't really know what happened to that, though. However, adding another predatory being other than zombies would give players something else to look out for when running through the woods at night. -

I rather adore the new zombie path-finding and sensitivity. Feels like you are actually trying to survive through the zombie apocalypse, and every zombie is an enemy. After a long while, zombies have become yet again a predator of DayZ, and now, listen for the moans and screams...

Yeah, DayZDB is your best point for getting loot spots around the general area. But honestly, once you know the map, you really don't need it afterwards. -
The use of tents have marginally improved since the summer, and are far more useful and less likely to cause you trouble for setting up camps. I personally don't enjoy putting up camps, so I either use my handy-dandy inventory, or the Czech Pouch I pick up every now and then.

Well, DayZ zombies have nerves, so they don't take kindly to getting shot. They find it quite agitating, which is why I am kind enough to keep aiming for the head, just for the sake of their content! :D

I actually had a similar problem like you, my friend. A friend of mine suggested I put my settings higher than they were (all were mostly on low). I put my graphics settings up to normal, and, due to the less CPU the quality of the graphics was taking up, I was experiencing less lag. Try raising your settings a bit and see if that helps...

I'm pretty sure the entire concept of DayZ was FOCUSED to be on PvZ AND PvP mesh. If people want to go play PvP DayZ (though it's nothing like what it should be) find yourself a Wasteland server. -
I rather enjoy this topic. It is rather confusing to some whether the zeds or legit zombies or infected (which is why I prefer calling them zeds). Usually, when it comes within the strain of a virus that is transferred from one to another, it is usually represented as an infection. Zombies are simply a pop cultural reference made to appeal for the public. Under a biological point of view, the enemies on infected.
