  1. So me and a friend were playing up on a server, avoiding as zombies as possible and of course players, and we get to Stary Sobor. We are crawling by the outskirts when we notice a guy firing at some zombies. We didn't exactly see his weapon, as we were quite a distance away. So we just hid there, for a bit, then went back out for some scavenging. We quickly went around the town, gathered a good round-up of supplies and headed out. So we head off away from Stary Sobor when the impossible happened... A bandit walked in front of us with an AS50 and gave me the gun. We were shocked. He even had another one, and right when I was going to ask him where he got them, he randomly died for no specific reason. So I was left with a AS50 and my friend pissed with not getting the other one. We then logged off for the night. When we got back, we had a helicopter crash sight right in front of us. The luck that has befallen us was magnificent. Unfortunately, luck seemed to fade when I got a broken leg, and ended up crawling all the way over the International Airfield. I found some morphine in the barracks, and we got back on our toes to loot the airfield. However, on zombie was all it took to lead us to our downfall, and we soon perished by the hands of rotting flesh. It was quite the experience, and the character I have now is second to that. SO WHAT WAS YOUR MOST FUCKED UP EXPERIENCE ON DAYZ?
  2. Me and a bro were at the North-West airfeild. We loot to our greatest extent and just continue going north, suddenly... A WILD BANDIT CAMP APPEARS. Almost all the tents at AS50's, plenty of glock rounds, blood bags, etc. We nearly fainted by the established luck. Ghillie suits galore. We then go back to the northwestern airfield to find some guy riding a bike through. We shot him, it was a dick move yeah, but he attracted almost every single zombie to us. That horde was not an easy task... So we continue on and before we know it, we are both dead on the field. He got pissed, I laughed my ass off. I felt like having a fresh start.

    How do tents work

Tents, in my opinion, are equaled out under pros and cons. They prove sufficient in storage, and attempt camouflage to prevent other players from seeing them, but due to the bugs put into these tents, the sometimes don't actually save you items, and may just disappear in a server reset. Large groups of tents are more commonly expected to be found, and are usually put on hill tops on maps. If you want to get a tent, find a place that would seem unintresting and less likely to be approached by players, and take base there. If all works well, you will have a secret storage cache in the server you put your tent in.

    A fan of death now.

I sometimes act this way as well, but I mostly treat each death as a joke. I have died many times by several different things, and each time I get better. I adopt new tactics, and abandon ones that seem less efficient. I just play the game and treat every bad thing that happens to me as just another problem with a solution, and just take it as a joke.

    Vehicles.. Lets be honest

I just find vehicles in the game funny sometimes. You find one, celebrate by driving it around Elektro or Cherno, and end of losing it by death, or theft the next time you log in. I just find vehicles in the game as temporary transport, because I know for a fact you will be noticed eventually driving something, you will be followed, and your pimp-mobile will be stolen... ...I miss pimpy...

What Is you'r View on the crossbow?

To be perfectly honest, it was a great idea. A one hit zombie kill, practically silent, and retrievable arrows? FUCK YEAH! However, it was not exactly implemented well, as each arrow takes a primary inventory slot, and sometimes zombies can fall on the arrows, making that impossible to get. The iron sight's are also horrible, so it's best to have crosshairs with the crossbow. In my personal opinion, it would be a useful weapon if it wasn't so undermined. I would wish for at least a bit more variety in crossbow/bow section of the game, maybe a more advanced crossbow or a compound bow.

    need a tent

Tents were meant for the use of item storage, and there is a way to save the items in it by saving the tent in the options when you are near it. However, the tents are extremely buggy, and are not really reliable for saving your items. Even if you save it, it can simply disappear and you won't get anything back. I was spared by only putting a few irrelevant items in a tent once, and it just disappeared the next day. Plus, even if it does save, you better hope no one finds it. I have found several camps in the game, so it might not be the best idea.

    Rarity of Alice Backpack?

The odds of finding an Alice pack in some residential abodes seems low, but markets are bound to have at least one. Of course, once you get the Coyote Backpack, you wouldn't really care about ALICE packs.
  12. I'm going to go on a run and say that the pilot was either incapable of flying a chopper or had to desync. This is the one reason why I am afraid to find a chopper with some friends, because we don't think we will have the ability to fly it without crashing it as take-off.

    Killing unarmed survivors..

I would agree to do this at any of the airfields, it's a very impressive tactic. But why Elektro? The Fresh meat is not worth the ammunition.
  14. I have been reading much on how DayZ is a broken, unpredictable mess that has to be fixed, where everything seems to go wrong every second. While this is technically true, and it does require some fixing up to do, this argument is invalid because of a few things. First, the game was implemented to the Arma II engine. You will no doubt experience some awkward and clunky gameplay based on this buggy engine. While I do enjoy Arma II in it's standard format, the game will give you a slap occasionally with it's ways of geometric coding. Second, the DayZ mod is in ALPHA STAGE. I will repeat, it is in ALPHA. You are not going to see a pristine game filled with by far the most fluid gameplay. The combination the Arma II engine gives some mix results because of that. If things seem a little empty in the game, that's because development is in it's early stage, and will be in heavy works, especially with the standalone DayZ coming out. Third, in DayZ, you are going to die. There is no "YOU ARE WINNER" screen at the end of this dark tunnel, you WILL die. I have heard countless amounts of complaints explaining pvp and zombies. I have even heard requests for PvP to be removed! Look, this game was originally used as a training tool for the new zealand army for the test in emotional and mental expression. PvP was put into DayZ because of the unlimited interaction with other players. It makes you feel that something is going to happen once both eyes are crossed, even if it usually will lead to your death. But that's the thing, that's what keeps you on your toes in this game. You want ZERO involvement with any other human being in the game, along with avoiding zombies. I know that zombies can be cheap sometimes with leg breaking skills, but that's the fun of the game, you have to expect something to go wrong. In the end, your going to feel paranoid, that's okay. It's one thing to think everyone is out to get you, it's another to know that it is true. Fourth, it's just a fucking game, lighten up. I have heard so much bitching about some 'unrealistic features based on the game, like how the use of the .50 caliber anti-material rifles are impossible. That's an okay request for the games, it will add some more reasons for inventory management, but if you are going to go all out in WHY this is wrong, i'm just going to roll my eyes and skip to the next topic. I accept any suggestion to make DayZ more immersible, but don't get butt hurt over some misconception. This also goes for anything who get's angered whenever they get killed in the game, usually blaming the games faulty design or the overuse of PvP. You know what I do? I just laugh Every time I look back into the ways I have died, I always chuckle to how ridiculous the game is. My deaths are even from zombie to players, and they usually always have some strange way of happening. I was in Elektro one time, running to the hospital to get some medicine. However, once I get up the ladder, I notice another player up there, a bandit no less. So I do what nobody else did... I just talked to him. I had a gun, I could have shot him, but no... I just tried striking a conversation... Which led to my ultimate death. So basically, this game has some things to complain about, just not this fucking bullshit about PvP or how the game acts. How about complain about things outside the box, or even about hackers or cheap server admins. That would be a nice thing to talk about. ... No really... No, seriously, that's the best thing I can come up with! ... Whatever, do you get my point?

    A rundown on DayZ.

Hm... guess i'm no better than the people I wrote upon in this post. Have my beans.

    A peculiar DayZ Experience.

You know Eidos, whenever I come across somebody that hacks, or talks shit about the game for being too hard or buggy, I usually say to myself, "You now what, this is funny." I just take most bad things in the game as some sort of hilarious joke. That's the whole point of this game, to not take it too seriously.

    FeceZ

Well it's unfortunate that YOU wasted YOUR money on a MOD that you SHOULD have to be SOMEWHAT glitchy because it is run on ARMA. Your argument is INVALID.
  18. You were most likely nuked by a hacker, an occurence in which a hacker somehow tells the game server to kill all players.
  19. Have... 1. First play Arma II and Operation Arrowhead (update the games and battleye) 2. Have you received the latest beta build?

    Will Voice Chat attract Zombies?

From my recent experience, zombies had not heard me or my friend on voice chat. The idea is a good one though, and should be implemented to the game.
  21. Out of my own experience and further study, we all know that we should never trust anybody, unless you are told to meet up with someone you know. Here are some ways to handle the situation in case you come across a survivor. 1. Look at the arsenal. Does he/she have any form of firearm or ballistic weapon. If not, don't bother him. If he has a melee, give the player a warning before he comes closer. If you have a firearm, present intimidation. 2. Does he have anybody else following him, weather they are stalking him or if they are in a group. If so, it's best to ask to hold fire. They will most likely leave you alone if you do not have a weapon, believing you just started out fresh. 3. You can go the stealthy approach to prevent yourself from being seen by the player. Stop and go prone. If you find a large object to put between you and the survivor, use it. If you believe the survivor is of hostile threat, eliminate him in a low density of population area, to prevent the attraction of zombies. 4. If you find the player in the midst of a battle between zombies or other survivors, lend him a hand. This will present a form of friendly interaction between you the survivor, and you might be trusted by him/her. 5. If you hear gun fire, do not ask where it's from. Proceed with situation 3 if you find the survivor nearby. I hope this will help anybody in the future with any form of situation in which you come face to face with a survivor. Some situations will not always lead to the same outcome.
  22. Very good tips. I also forgot one more. 6. If you have a way to use voice communication in the game (mic or web cam mic), use it to call for anybody that you believe is nearby, but do so in a hidden area at a distance, to prevent your position being given away. This comes from experience when me and a buddy of mine were riding through Elektro to the hospital for medical supplies. He thought he saw someone running by, and we both used our mic's to see if he had one as well. Turns out he did, and thank god we asked, since he told us to stay away.

    Blood variety.

The one and most important part of your player is blood. Many problems may persist depending on how your blood levels are. However, canned food has become a very rare occurrence, and the chances of getting a transfusion with someone else is practically nil. Why not have the ability to regenerate blood? It is a natural occurrence when humans in real life biology. It can happen very slowly, while food makes blood regeneration faster. It can acts like a buff. In so many times, I have been wandering around the city, looking for food, with blood below 2000, lapsing in and out of consciousness, color blind and deaf. The regain speed could be about 10 units of blood per second. It seems low, but it actually seems fair. What do you think?

    Enviorment Blend

I notice that no matter where I am, weather I am prone, crouching or standing up. I seem to always have the same line of sight indicator. Why not use the enviorment to our advantage? I know about losing the zombies line and sight and all, but what about shadows and grass to almost conceal ourselves. I noticed that when i'm in these areas, they (usually) still leave me with the same exact danger of being spotted.
