    RIP DayZ

Once a certain base of people find a game that they believe will live up to their standards, they are going to invade the game and attempt to play it like the play all other FPS shooters. There is still an extensive pocket of players who don't have the mindset of assuming every living thing with a gun or hatchet is some 'Nam vet that treats everyone like crap. There is always a union within the system that can show an extensive sign of dominance to all other close-minded individuals. Cheers, Comrades.

    Bandages... what's the point?

Oh, haven't you heard!? They are implementing the feature of controlling your hand as you bandage yourself! Now you can kill yourself by attempting to put a piece of cloth around your wound!
  3. Hopefully this also includes the community developer of DayZ as well... I have faith in the current developer while others may not. At least you got a rig set for SA ;)

    DayZ SA: Walking simulator

Will take a while to implement the vehicles in-game, for sure. However, it would be a fresh of breath air to not see the [MAX VEHICLE] tag on servers for a while...

    Dayz a mature game?

... I have began to question the credibility and coherence of my generation. Makes me feel disappointed that I was not born at an earlier time, with so much wonder around every corner of gaming. ...makes me want to pop-out the ol' N64 and play a bit of Mario...

    DayZ BO2 emblem

I admit, that is quite an accomplishment to pull of with the COD Emblem editor. Makes me actually have faith in some people that have the mentality to play COD regularly. As for the game in general: It's an idea and a system that has been re-hashed countless amounts of times ever since Call of Duty 4. Cheers, Comrades.

    DayZ Myths

We all heard of the mystic and cursed Green Mountain. The mythical mountain men of Gillie Monsters. The super-natural element and bad luck of the Dew. However, DayZ is filled with mystics and tales of sizable and proportional events that send the chills down players spines. I decided to devote a topic specifically for the share of players experiences of the supernatural world of DayZ. I'll start the topic off. I traveled down the edge of the hill, watching my step as I observed the town of Khelm. The dirty and grimy binoculars magnified the dirt on the lenses, but I had a decent enough view to see the inside of the town. It was infested, just like the rest, but for such a small town, the numbers where diminished greatly compared to Berenzino. A friend of mine had radioed me the coordinates and the map I had directed me here. Why he decided us to meet in the secluded time, I will never be certain. I checked the ammo in my revolver and my newly discovered AK. I checked my bags to see if I had proper medical supplies and consumables to last, which I did. After a thorough check, I entered the town, keeping my eyes on the woods and streets. I avoided the temptation to loot any buildings around Khelm, and decided to keep going. He was waiting for me at the north edge of the town, and by the sound of his voice, he sounded as if he were in distress. I decided to keep my mind-set on getting to him and see what the situation was. As I neared the rendezvous point, I noticed a severe lack of zombies compared to what I saw on the nearby hill while I was observing Khelm. It was as if they all ran off for another area, or was dispersed by something, which was unlike what they were supposed to do. I decided that it was simply a stroke of luck and kept moving, but still kept the quiet environment in check. For all I knew, they were chasing my friend up the hill with his pants down. As soon as I reached the area where we were to meet, I smelled a awful, foul smell pierced my nose as I wandered close to a nearby building. I pinched my nose a looked around the corner. I nearly threw up as I saw the mangled bod of my comrade splayed against the wall, as if crucified from the iron stakes that were penetrated into the rocks aged interior. A horrid view for any survivor, especially one with compassion. I was just about ready to leave when I heard him yell and scream at the top of his lungs. I stared at his convulsing body and at his sunken eyes, which held only a black void to be seen. No sane human could preform such sane act, if not even some zombie... Right at that moment, I sensed a presence behind me. I turned around, aiming my AK at the figure in front of me. He looked awfully familiar. I looked at my mate, still screaming his heart out on that wall, then back to the figure. He wore the same cloths. As he raised his head, he had a decayed face, caked in blood and bone, staring at me with souless eyes, both blank and discolored. He looked like a zombie, but had the sophistication of movement as a man. He walked towards me, still shakily aiming the AK at his head. He looked at me, almost through me, as if I were a transparent figure, and whispered 3 words. "Welcome to Khelm."

    DayZ Myths

I find myths to conclude more of a CreepyPasta extravaganza to me. That was the purpose of this article in my opinion.
  9. This isn't the best optimized game. Unfortunatly, zombies do not go to radius of where the sound originated from. The sensory outputs of zombies are follow to only detect players only, with either sight or hearing. If they hear the noise, they will go directly to the main origin of the noise, the player. Hopefully, the community developer can add a sensory code for the zombies, and perhaps they will be improved in standalone.

    Whats the fun in this?

Even with night-time servers, individuals will eventually get sick of the night and either leave for a daytime server or boost their gamma up. I don't mind night too much to the point where I will ultimately refuse to join any server with night time. It aggravates me yes, but I still find it to be a challenge. Just hope you have the moon guiding your path.

    Genre dun for?

The genre itself is completely new, and stand for further installments to use this recent popularity in order to produce something decent enough for fans of the genre to enjoy. I know several games that had attempted such ideas, but 2 that practically made me lose hope in the genre are Fort Zombie and WarZ.However, it is a genre in its infancy. DayZ was a good start, one that surely will bring along more games to come. DayZ may have lost it's touch somewhat, mainly as once you know the map and how the zombie behavior coding is, but hopefully DayZ SA can re-birth DayZ once it releases.
  12. I'm late. Yes, the DLC provides higher resolution textures for your eyes to orgasm over. It's certainly worth it for the bundle since if you are also a regular ArmA player, you get to enjoy the extras that came along.

Anyone else miss when you were a noob?

I suppose once you have explored every cinch of Chenerus and it's map cousins, you will begin to get used to the occasional BS and loot spawns from certain buildings. When I first headed inland Chenerus, I was mystified with my companion to see what the interior had to offer, and sometimes, I wish the world was a little bit more dynamic and randomly generated.

    If Rocket messaged you tomorrow...

I would like him to add the game to the game. Sorry if I am asking for too much.
  15. Bandits get to not have their faces seen. I think that would be for the best...
  16. It has grown up, has made mistakes, learned from them, and continues to commit to natural human situations. It transitioned from the public hive to the more efficient and less parasitic private hives. It switched between the original developer to the community developer, who garnered fame and notoriety through-out his share. It plans to get its degree in Standalone. Like the life of the human, it seems like this game and its community changes throughout its existence, from another mod for ArmA to the worldwide phenomenon of the fresh zombie sandbox survival genre. It has went through several phases of popularity to garnering it's own remake and countless spin-offs and maps. At this point, we know that eventually the mod shall begin to recede below the standards of the new standalone, but will always stay in our hearts as a reminder of the battles, bandits, and dynamic community of the marvel we call...

    DayZ's Transitions

I believe DayZ succeeded in what many past companies failed to do: an open-world (quite a big one) zombie survival enviorment with dynamic player interaction. Perhaps the latter was a first for some, but rocket got what he wanted out of DayZ with its emotional appeal and strained interaction players would have with each other once they found themselves. It had endless possibilities of how the outcome between two players would be, whether one kills the other on sight, they team up for the better good, or one sticks around till he finds the moment to strike out. Though the indoor environmental in ArmA and DayZ are practically nill, I suppose that is why Standalone has come to reap the legacy, and let the community handle with the mod. For now, I just wait and see what will happen to the mod, but still keep a close eye on SA.

    DayZ's Transitions

Under the standards of what genre it is basing itself off of, it is the perfect game, though for its technical standards it may not be. However, so many players had dealt with and even had fun with whatever glitch side-effects they experience through-out their lives, even to the point of telling tales of how they survived the Chuck Norris Zombie. In a manner of speaking, the glitches that had been since patched had been a blast to experience during DayZ development, and cannot wait to see what comes forth.

    DayZ SA Suggestion

... I did my contribution to this post. Love ya all!

    What the hell

The laws of Gravity are the worst of zeds. ...the legs man... ...THE LEGS!!!!!!
  21. A death-match game in DayZ? Perhaps if you mean it to be hunger games, then it would make sense. But if you are simply going to kill other players in DayZ, why not just go shoot players in DayZ? Hell, why not had some T-34s while you're at it?
  22. In the case of the modification being transferred, it is without a doubt that DayZ will be recollected by Arma III, while SA stands as a individual game for the true developers to contribute to. Who will take the place for the mod when that comes out is uncertain, as R4ZOR might have to do a complete overhaul to transfer the engine over to the game, even if still have similar coding. Hopefully, the origin of this mod will never die after Standalone is released, and proposed that R4ZOR does well, we might have ourselves the cult classic zed survival simulator.

    Z's in the wilderness

The best I can understand from this is that zombies can travel quite a distance before eventually returning to the path-finding mode they usually travel in. Perhaps this may be a bug that either spawns certain zombies from fences.
