Namalsk hands down is the best dayz map created besides Chernarus obviously. The atmosphere is SPOT ON with a zombie outbreak, and the main city looks like it was modeled after Pripyat. The town most effected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.. I love that food/water and medical supplies are the top commodity as well, and not weaponry.

Because this was one of the main ways to dupe just about any consumable in the game, all it involved was placing items in your backpack, and doing things in the right order. You effectively only needed 1 cooked meat, and a can of a soda, and if you did it fast enough/enough times, you NEVER needed to worry about blood bags, starvations, dehydration, getting shot and being low on blood. Nope. Just keep duping that cooked meat till you're back to 12k blood and you're a walking terminator. :) Glad this is fixed. It's a minor inconvenience, which DayZ is about anyway. Inconveniencing us at every turn. The tradeoff is worth it. I know a lot of private hives had this issue fixed without the need for this, but this was the all around solution for the public hives as well.

About time. Great work to everyone involved. This was exactly what the majority of DayZ players, both the new and the ones who have been here since the beginning, have been wanting to see fixed with this mod for a long time now. Well, minus a complete stop to hacking but that's out of reach for the time being. I'm hoping, with WarZ's ridiculous 24hr lock-out in place if you kill off your limited amount of characters, it will send all the douchebags over there as it will be more enticing for them to piss off the people who spent $40 to test a garbage game. There's already private hack advertisment videos on youtube for the alpha there. Lawl.

Ok, so I'd like to take a stab at DayZ again, but I refuse to do it on a public hive server. I need to mention that I am ONLY looking for a server with active admins. Here's the list of other things I'm looking for.. Mid population, although high isn't a problem. Bug fixes, such as duping, tent & vehicle saving, anti alt-f4 fix, etc. CHERNARUS. I have no desire to play lingor at the moment, but I'll take suggestions for good lingor servers just in case I get interested at a later point. A custom anti-cheat program, advanced script parsing, etc. Those things a long with active admins, who not only just monitor the logs, but also play in their own server would be a huge plus. There's such a huge list of private hives out there that I really don't know where to start, and considering that I only intend on sticking to one server, I want to get it right the first time. So I'm looking to you guys to help me choose a solid, community approved, private hive. Any help is very appreciated and I look forward to hitting chernarus again.

Was an avid player and server contributor, but alas I quit as well due to hackers destroying the essence of the game. Not worth the time invested. So I'll be back for standalone to try, try again.

You rent one, just like you would a regular server. The difference when it comes to "private" is mainly the fact that you get your own hive for your server.

Nice ventrilo setup. In game comms aren't that clear. I wasn't going to call it a setup just based on the audible ventrilo tones, but some people have in game VOIP bound to their vent/ts PTT key.

Ok Rocket, this was news to me as well, and I was almost about to shut my server down, but I may hold off on that if you can answer one question for me. You say the rules for admins have opened up, but you only go on to talk about private hives after that. If I have a server on the main hive, do I have free rule to ban anyone I suspect of hacking? Do I have to provide logs? Basically, all the rules we had to watch out for to prevent being blacklisted, do we have to follow those still? I mean, with the way the game is right now, and so many people having bypasses, there really is no way to know other than hunch in some cases who is hacking. I'd rather ban 20 innocent people until I caught the asshole doing it, and then just go and unban everyone except him. If you can give me the go ahead, or assure me that I shouldn't have any fear of getting blacklisted, and I can rule with an iron fist(against hacking, and anything classed as illegitimate) I will go ahead and keep the server online and possibly come back to play the game. That's really been my biggest gripe. It's so out of control at the moment, but I felt like we still weren't being allowed any privileges in terms of being able to kick and ban users for certain things. I only intend to ban for suspicion of hacking like I said, or using illegal weapons, or doing anything incredibly disruptive to the server. I don't care if people camp on sniper hill all day killing fresh spawns. That's part of the game. I don't care about someone griefing. That's DayZ. I care about anyone doing anything, or having anything, that should not be in dayz. Whether they hacked it in or not, it doesn't matter. There are other servers that will allow it, and there are more people than not, who would like to see people being removed for having illegal items. Plain and simple.

Honestly, both of you "normal dayz player reaction" types would of been out of there so quickly yourselves. Don't even try to deny it because I'll never believe it. It's a fucking mobile anti aircraft.. pretty sure your as50s and M107s don't got shit on that thing lol. It's multiple 30mm cannons. All the thing needs to do to kill you is turn your way haha.

I've already given up. DayZ was my favorite game in the past 5 or so years. Had been playing it since the middle of may, almost excessively at times. Had my own server, teamspeak(still have that), squad/clan, etc. Gave up about 2.5 weeks ago. It's simply gotten to the point now where you cannot have a single night of gaming on DayZ without dying to a hacker, or having to abort several times from different ones. What's the point? Yes, I have the option of moving over to a private hive, but that kind of takes away the spirit of dayz a little bit in my eyes, taking away that persistence you're supposed to have. Oh well. I'll be back for standalone and until then, I'm back with my old BF3 clan for the time being just pubstomping and scrimming. More fun than DayZ the way it is now. I don't like lingor, or takistan. Just doesn't feel "DayZ" to me. With chernarus, and DayZ, this mod truly felt more like a game than a mod. The desert/tropical setting, really does feel like a mod on the other hand. I'm just really jaded about the game now, and how it's been all but ruined. Down to 80,000 concurrent players from over 150,000 per night. In a couple of weeks time. Thats saying a whole lot. One of my squadmates, who was really upset with where this mod has gone, decided to go pick up a bypass and some scripts(the vip one). Just to simply see with his own eyes how many people hack. He didn't even execute any scripts other than godmode and teleporting to people, often naked. He didn't kill one single person as I would often just hop on my alt account who was completely fresh and just go in the server with him. Every server we joined, within 5 minutes, he'd say "Oh, got a hacker here. Oh wait, I see another one teleporting, let me teleport to him and surprise him.." etc etc. I of course don't condone making a problem worse than it already is, which is why I told him I wouldn't have any part of it if he decided to "test" out his scripts and kill innocent people, which fortunately he refused to do." I guess we both just wanted to see with our own eyes how these stupid fucks operate. He did a charge back on his credit card and got the money back after 12 hours or so. Lol.
