The #'s are the beta patches. Make sure you have the beta. I would suggest using DayZ Commander (as noted above). -
Cannot Play DayZ after installing Origins

This means that you don't have the beta installed. Try pressing the "Install" button next to where it says Arma 2 is not found. Make sure that your DayZ was not corrupt: Also, try to join a server through DayZ commander instead of whatever other launcher you are using. -
In DayZ Commander the mod is called "DayZ". It should be right above DayZ+ in the install/update tab. Keypad enter

Make sure that you have updated DayZ to the servers version. If you have I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling DayZ. -

The best way to play DayZ is with DayZ Commander. Throw away your steam version of DayZ (It's unreliable anyway). Visit this site: http://www.dayzcommander.com/ You can use the server browser in DayZ commander to find servers that work for you, and also to download other mods easily. BTW The error message you are getting is because you don't have the Arma 2 beta installed. You WILL need the Arma 2 beta patch. When you get in DayZCommander you will need to install the DayZ mod (labeled as just "DayZ"). Then you need to install the beta patch:

The server has an issue. Tell the owner to remove the last line of his init.sqf in his mission.pbo (or server.pbo can't remember).

One thing I noticed in the Rezzed video was that, they are adding a lot of craftable items. Kitchen timers hotwired to bomb, for a timed explosive device? I don't even know where to begin making one of those... I'm guessing we won't have Google in the zombie apocalypse, so it might be a good idea to have the players find technology magazines (fashion magazines for the ponies) to create explosive devices and other craftable items (color cloths rainbow and unicorn).

Not going to happen. What would make said NPC trader immune to the zombie apocalypse? Obviously you wouldn't be able to kill him and take all his stuff, which just adds another factor to why it is such a horrible idea.
