I'm not seeing enough information here. Is arma2 installed? Is it a steam install? If they are both installed don't forget you NEED to run both at least once to make sure they are registered in your registry. So go into your Arma2 directories and hit the exe's and run each till you get to the menu. Dont worry about launching combined operations if you are focused on playing only dayz. I recomend dayz commander. try that. Its pretty good. Once you have the commander installed click the install/update tab and make sure your up to date on arma2 beta and the dayz. then make sure your map is up to date that you wish to play on. I noticed change logs for 1.7.4.3 say street lights working, but on our server they are not. Can anyone explain why?

thanks for the info. In all honesty. I agree with biohazard. we run our private server on 24/7 day because night is too daunting. No one wants to play like that so they never join your server. Who wants to pay to host an empty server? And who says in the zombie appocolypse the lights will be out? Zombies are too dumb to hit the off switch arnt they?

oops sorry for double post. this site is so active its loading slowly for me.. I double clicked.

Short version. 1. Clan mates and Non clan mates working together to build a base. 2. Clan mate disconnects and comes back later on with a different name, overlooking and sniping NON clan mates at the base. I am upset with his actions. I feel he betrayed our trust. He claims he was bored and just wanted to play as a bandit. Am I wrong to think that when you work as a team, particularly clan mates, that you just cant change your style of game play mid drift? I mean, I know people say "Trust NO one" but isnt that a bit extreme?

The server I play on is in recruit mode. So there are Huge white orbs to indicate if there are players or zombies near by. I ONLY enter towns when there are no zombies spawned, and when I join the towns I get in and get out. The only time I have died is when Im running into an empty town and someone spawns next to me and shoots me with an as50. Im not trying to be overly dramatic about this, but its getting pretty bad. Our server owner has the ability to view a map that shows where players are on the server. Today he said 4-5 players teleported to the helicopter that I spent all morning repairing. He was able to ban them all, but are the bans working? Cant someone create a script that bans these jerks as they try to do it?

Im referring to the master banlist that is streamed to all servers running PBBANS. The several servers that I ran using BPBANS were very good. Bans were frequently updated on our servers as they were added to the master banlist. Sounds like I know a little about what Im talking about.. NO? Besides that, our admin just installed gotcha-anti hack and things have been pretty good so far. Except for them guys that spawned the hind and the cobra. tisk tisk.

Its too bad that Dayz doesnt offer something like PBBANS PBBANS bans players on all servers that stream to this global ban list.

banned a teleport hacker who stole the server admins PW, then 30 minutes later we had the news broadcast hack.

Any idea where we can find that. we just got hit again

You can join me in our private server. We have 2 helicopters. Every vehicle we can think of including the sport utility. NVG's and loads of weapons. the NON hive servers actually expect you to NOT dupe your stuff so we usually just sit around the camp fire having a pig roast drinking cokes till we decide to roll out and kill some zombies. hit me up in steam: specterm or our clan: www.UGF-Clan.NET take care man. way too many hacked weapons on the dayz hive. Hackers bring them in, and dupers make them abundant.

Our HFB server which is set to expire today still allows us to perform the following tasks. 1. We can dupe use any useable item. 2. We can dupe our body giving an endless supply of ammo weapons etc. In wondering what we were going to do next with a server we found a youtube video of how to setup a private server. So I thought I would try it. I'm amazed. All duping ability is GONE! Vehicles spawn in and are in abundance. Helicopters! we found two of them and the spawns are actually consistent with the dayzdb map. In all honesty the private server has outperformed my expectations. the Zombies are killer badass. But the lack of duping ability really makes the game much more fun. so my question is. Why does the normal dayz server still allow duping? and to top it off.. why is the helicopter still not showing up on the island? I think the server files at HFB are broke in the region I am from.

well.. on another note then. If the bliss people have seemed to fix the duping issues.... Why is it so difficult for the Official DayZ team to fix it?

See.. spending hours driving around the map is kinda pointless if the helicopter has been destroyed and wont spawn back for 7 days. But if finding helicopters is not your issue then...

lol.. a post in the dayz forums about some duper tents and you cant expect that there will be at least 3 snipers with TWS in overwatch.. LOL!!! Fools!!!

I sure would love to find a heli. We cant find our server helicopter. Got to use it maybe once. Hence the cancelling of our server. :( cmon dayz. 7 days on server respawn is rediculous.
