WHERE: ANZ 10 WHEN: around 2:20am GMT+10 WHAT: First Incident: A friend was ambushed by one person and killed by automatic fire at close range at night, out of nowhere. Sounded like an M4 from the rate of fire. He was en-route to a RV point near Devil's Castle. Second Incident: We initially thought nothing of the first incident, and moved away from the location to a position over 5km away on a very remote part of the map using a car. Shortly after reaching the new position (not more then 10 mins), I was mowed down in the same way from the south. It is possible that someone could have found me, BUT it was too much of a coincidence (I was wearing a ghillie suit and low to the ground). We did notice a lot of people dying on the server beforehand. Once we put two and two together, we shut the server down as there was no way to immediately identify and ban the culprit. After restarting the server, we investigated the area where we suspect the shots were fired from. I found an M4A1 CCO (black version) in one of our loot stashes, leading me to believe that after the killings, the culprit had grabbed a weapon from that stash, and dropped his M4 in there in the process. I suspect it was a hacker because we returned to the location at speed, using a vehicle. It's not physically possible for someone on foot to arrive there after such a short period. We believe it is only possible by use of teleport/forward jumping. The finding of the black M4a1 CCO is also surprising, as it doesn't exist in the DayZ loot tables. Are you able to look through your logs to ID the killer? We suspect the kills were made with the M4a1 CCO.
