"SNIPING NEEDS TO BE BALANCED" It ruins the game IMO since it makes players choose from surviving an apocalypse to being a paranoid military style player who literally crawls from tree to tree,bush to bush,building to building searching every possible place for enemies.Then it hit me just now that snipers just need to be nerfed bullet drop wise.They still have a huge advantage at range though .......just bring the ranges in since its a dam zombie game with a whole bunch of other unrealistic/authentic things. There I said it and now I will wait for the haters and Ninnymuggins to start their attempts to ridicule any suggestion posted on the suggestions forums.Every idea I post here will be multi-quoted for stupidity as is usual practice in Dayz forums. :rolleyes: TL:DR........add in more bullet drop for sniper rifles,smaller scope views,no zoom (for weapons that have it) and finally.......tracers. Lets face it,Arma2 claims ultimate realism but its not very realistic.Yes it has certain aspect that adds in realism but is lacking in others.In real life its hard to snipe yet I am pretty good in game.Now on to the way to nerf them. More bullet drop very easily makes firing a sniper weapon and actually hitting anything much harder to do. Smaller scopes just to add in less view space which makes it slightly harder to locate enemies. No zoom even on scopes that allow it.Come on now....make em harder peeps!! Tracers because its a game and they look very kool.Also,because its a game its hard to see bullet impacts and range shooting with increased bullet drop needs something to counter the fact that its hard to see where bullets impact at far distances. This video below shows what I am talking about and is using the ACE mod.It has smaller view diameter for snipers(the white indentation circle is the scope size before the mod made it smaller).It also has a very kool recoil effect added in.And it also shows the shooter having to adjust using the tracer as a guide.NOTE.....I am not talking about adding in the severe wind deflection.Start at 1:55 and you will notice he 3D scope effect,smaller sniper view diameters and using tracers to adjust.

There should be lessening chance of infected spawning as towns get smaller.Would like smaller towns,deer stands etc to sometimes not spawn anything at all.I think this is the way the mod is supposed to be but it never happens to me. -

I play in 1st person for the immersion but feel that if you like 3rd person than you should be able to play in 3rd. That said I would prefer a fix that would change the engine so that in 3rd person you only see what you can see in 1st.This would be ultimate and I would think that most people would agree to this.Then again the Ninymuffins probably wouldn't. -
Good luck squeezing out shots on a potato diet and yes I am talking about firing a weapon.

Screw that I want individual tools that each take up space in pack.I wanna loot around and find an adjustable wrench in some shed and some wire clippers etc in a barn somewhere etc etc.One slot taken for each tool in backpack.More realism the better but if people will start complaining about it removes the ability to carry jerry cans,fuel tanks,tires and heli rotors than at least make a tool pouch that holds them all.Something like this pic below that attaches below your backpack. http://www.compacc.com/images/product/600/17240_2.jpg

What with Dayz and authenticity ruling the realism,why not make weapons authentic also.Make 50 caliber rifles 2 shots to kill and up the amount that the lower weapons geneed by one.Fixing the pistols while there is needed! -

^^ perfect video to show how hard it would be to run with these weapons.I posted this before bla bla bla.....two things can fix this but alas Arma2 devs deemed all weapons the same in their simulator. ;) Two things to fix First make the larger weapons have the sway when standing and crouched(to lesser extent)that a player has when they just ran for awhile.Not the full sway when totally exhausted but around 3/4's of that amount.The smaller a weapon gets the less sway etc etc. Second is to add in one notch of aiming deadzone as default to prevent players from marking their LCD screens. Now try doing some CQB with no crosshair,some aiming deadzone and heavier weapons swaying around alot when not prone. :D -
You just have to press lean over and then slowly move to corner and you will expose mostly your head as it is in real life.

I'm all for death=being kicked off the SA hive for 12 hours.This way everyday you come on and play you will have that feeling of survive is utmost importance.Dead and kicked off and you will have to sleep off the tears.Then when you log back in the next day you will be running and ducking for cover from the moment you spawn.;)Its freaking harsh but will just add to the games immersion greatly.if you die and can't hack being away then go play on a private server till next day!!!! -
Suggestion: blood regen and self blood transfusions

Was thinking something similar recently but different in that food intake had no effect on blood gain.Say you got shot and went down to near death blood wise then you would have to wait 2 full hours in game to regen this blood.So no eating 10 steaks to instantly gain health but transfusions still work the same. Then change the hunger and thirst icons to be the gauge to death instead of the blood icon.When your thirst/hunger icons are red and about to start blinking you will be dead very shortly but it takes 3 times the amount of time to start blinking red.Then have food and drink with varying levels of re-hydration/satiety.So say your blinking red and you take the last swig out of your canteen the thirst icon stays red but stops blinking.If your at a water source for example you can take as many drinks you need to get the thirst icon back to full green which can be 2 full canteens(6 drinks).3 steaks to full green or 6 cans etc. -
About Realism or Authentic Game Play

What is "authentic" though?Carrying around a few jerry cans,car windshield and a helicopter rotor is not realistic or even authentic IMO.Why carry a tire when you could have a can of FixaFlat,why carry a rotor when the heli can just need hydraulic fluid and why need a new engine when you could just need new spark plugs/thermostat/air cleaner etc.And finally why have to drop pants when you can just poo in them and be a disease spreading apocalyptic bumb?? -

Love 3D scopes and feel they would give the game polish.All scopes also and not just aimdot and Acog but PSO1,Susat etc.When the screen becomes black with hole in the middle I just feel its an easy way out by game devs.And if you look at most pics of snipers online you will notice they keep there eyes round 2 to 3 inches away from the scope to protect from kickback.This mans that you do see the outside edges of the scope and do not put the scope straight onto your eye unless you have a huge rubber shroud type sight.Plus 3D scopes just look way better!!! ;) -

I found these posts at Reddit and am kinda amazed.Please,I just want to open up this suggestion a little bit as I think its lost somehow. Rocket-Whats is the one thing that is most important for you as the game transitions to standalone? Please restrict to one item, and upvote if someone else has said that item. Xkaiser-My biggest hope is that it refreshes the "feeling" when I started playing. I didn't know of any exploits, hackers didn't exist, finding a good gun was euphoria, and surviving actually meant something. I feel all the duping and abundance of things has nullified the survival feeling for me and my friends. Evilviking-Oh man, that feeling of finding my first M16A2 after over a week of civilian weapons... amazing. MattLightfoot-So how do you think we can achieve that?So do you think starting with the new blank database will be enough as well as us tackling hacking and possible admin abuse? Walking into a barn and seeing 4 DBL barrel shotguns on the floor sucks.It sucks in so many ways that I am kinda shocked you do not see why.Make people search everywhere to find weapons and when that lone barn in distance finally produces a weapon it should be exhilarating.Do not just wipe database and then make military weapons hard to find but make the game harsh from moment you start.Finding your first civilian weapons should also feel great and it removes the barn in distance having flares,chemlights,sodas,beans,enfields,Winchesters and voila ur done feel that Dayz has right now.Melee weapons of varied types should be the main weapon for awhile and after a good amount of searching a civilian weapon or if your lucky a military weapon.A I found a post by Rocket where he states that they are now making a system where items will spawn anywhere and that made me smile.There is something so kool about going into a cabin and not seeing loot piles but instead having to search for stuff.Food in cabinets,guns in drawers or under beds etc.I do think that weapons should spawn with a lot of ammo since if all weapons are rare you wanna give people stuff to shoot with. tl:dr.....do people find the abundance of civilian weapons to be too high in Dayz right now? -

I am all for a game world that has items galore that are at first sight useless but can be crafted into useful items that are life saving. empty cans+rags or sand=water filter clean rags+alcohol=bandages thread+needle=suture kits clean rags+peroxide+thread+needle=medkits alcohol+weed=cure for the apocalypse blues Stuff like this can be found all over the place at low spawns so people can actually not have to run down to a hospital for bandages(should only spawn in hospitals then).For the water filter,there are maps with clean looking water and maps that have green disgusting looking water.If the water is clean looking then just a boil will suffice but if it looks very dirty then filtering and boiling would be necessary. The more items the better for immersion IMO. Instead of that huge ass tool box have a tool pouch instead that you find individual tools for spread thruout the lands toolsheds and industrial buildings.Wirecutters to jump vehicles is one example but we all know certain tools for certain jobs is what the real world lives on. -

I am more for allowing server owners to set difficulty levels that relate to how much food/drink spawns and how much weapons spawn on their servers.I think I read that Rocket said something to this effect but I could of been dreaming. :rolleyes: -

Dig a hole and cover it up.And for bases I was thinking that clans should be able to achieve the ability to then build a base on that server.This way clanY has base on UK25 and clanZ has base on UK32.The clans name that owns the server will be present in the server info also. Each disease will have its own medication and it will be hard to tell which one to take. -
PROBLEM=when you get shot nothing happens. SOLUTION=when you get shot you should instantly drop in pain.Then depedning on bullet damage get up like normal,get up but with aim all erratic or or stay down due to shock. TL:DR When you have a weapon pointed at someone and they do not have one pointed at you"in real life" you have huge advantage as a pull of the trigger and the person will be all tore up.

All the weapons being so easy is great for a small map like Namalsk.When I play it I want to get into fights but when I play on Chenarus I wanna get more immersed and weapons on stairs etc hampers that.Great map though and the food/drink/temp is well done so for me its my PVP map goto. -

I have never saved anything in a tent in Dayz.If all weapons were super rare then I would start saving them up.
