Without ruining the balance that Rocket has worked hard so far I feel making the infected more harsh can be accomplished by removing the broken bones and adding in being bitten.The broken bones is too harsh and having morphine around is a rare occurrence.If you make getting a broken leg into being bitten instead you can add in some more realistic outcomes.For one,a broken leg is kinda silly in realistic thought processes by knowing that a human would have a hard time breaking another persons legs by hitting them with their fists.But a bite can be very damaging and is,afterall,what the infected want to do to you since they look at you as food. Being bitten can come from being attacked to where you take a certain amount of hits and then have a chance for it.It would be like fighting your hardest with elbow throws and weapon butts to avoid an infected's bite. If you do get bitten then a bite icon pops up.Two things can happen with one being 100% of the time and the other a 50/50 chance.The 100% chance is the bite wound which will need immediate medical attention or risk bleeding out and mimics the bandaging function we have now.First change bandages to a medkits.This medkit is a one use kit that has stuff like gauze,alcohol and suturing supplies and takes a good time to go thru its processes.Then the 50/50 chance is of getting a bad infection where you can't run at all and so takes the place of the broken bones but in a less game breaking way.The use of morphine,where before it healed the broken leg,is now to allow you to overlook the pain and hence search for antibiotics.If you have antibiotics on you and take right away then you will not get an infection.Maybe even make infections from bites a bit worse so that not only can you not run but your screen is shaking.This means if you have antibiotics and take right away,then thats all you have to take.But if you do not have antibiotics and do get infected then you need painkillers on top of the antibiotics to cure yourself.Let the infection take a strong hold by not finding any antibiotics in a certain time and now you must crawl. Its small subtle steps you may have to go thru or its BAM broken bone and you better have morphine. :)

Arma has a bad system of trying to lift the weapon when passing thru doors adding clunkiness.Maybe Rocket could remove this so that weapons had no collision with objects.Would make for way smoother game feel. ;) -
Realistic noise levels for prone/crouch/standing

What kills me is that my footsteps when crouched are just as loud as when standing.And its the same volume when I am slow crouching as when I am fast crouching which to me makes me feel as if I am stomping my feet with each step.Then the sound of rapid footsteps when side strafing and in outside view the character is slowly moving step over step.Arma2 is just clunky in so many ways sadly. But Rocket can fix certain things.I agree that you should be louder when crawling compared to crouching.This will add dynamic where you use crouching when very close but out of cone of view and prone when further away but in view.If that makes sense. Plus I feel that a jogging speed for when you press W would feel way more natural even though I know it will take longer to get places.I can't tell if sprinting is faster than running.And crouch running seems too fast also. -
Why not spawn you away fom towns by a certain amount.Say you enter a military barrack and leave to server hop.When you enter next map your 500m away in the woods.

Love it.I modded my won stalker game so that medkits did not increase health but just stopped bleeding.Then I modded in that you needed to eat and then rest for 8 hours where in your health would increase by 1/4.No food eaten before you rest and hence no health increase.

Would love to see Military helicopters overhead and pretty much on a regular basis.Very limited AI routine to have no impact on game and so they never attack.I am talking just a N to S or E to W helicopter or a group of them.

I know its long but I think its worthwhile;) There does not seem to be much fear from infected.After awhile they become an annoyance when in fact they should be terrifying the whole time you try to survive with your character.By adding in a few more layers to the mix you force a game changing element.That is fear of getting bitten and then slowly getting infected yourself.If bitten you could get a bite icon which itself slowly turns red until you yourself are infected and turn.Make it so that it takes a while to turn so that you can try to get antibiotics to cure yourself.Maybe 8 real time hours.This should give you time to plan a strategy to find some meds by visiting hospitals or maybe even trading with players.Could also make colds factor in where if you get sick from elements then the time to turning is lessened to 4 hours. Next is to make food more rare.By making food/drink more rare players are forced into making trips to small villages by necessity with larger cities giving more food spawns but higher chance to get bitten for you and your friends.Crawling around small villages that have less infected just to have a chance at finding some food and water should be a large part of this game from start and well after getting the best gear.Afterall,this part of DayZ is brilliant in itself!!! Think small groups now having to band together to enter towns since now u have a chance of getting bitten and that causes a totally new game tactic to emerge.Small towns become guns blazing affairs since you do not want to get bitten!! ;) Large towns now become better targets since they have more food PLUS the meds.....but of course more infected.Would this be terrifying if this were to happen in real life?Yes because while the swarm potential is bad,the chance of being bitten and then getting infected yourself is worse since you will slowly turn yourself into a mindless zombie walking the land looking for human flesh.Remove the broken bones in effect and make it being bitten is the bad stuff infected will do to you with the new element of a timed demise.They are just infected afterall and not super humans.Plus not being able to walk is game breaking while having to find meds with a timed penalty is immersifying. Animals in wild and drinking from ponds and lakes makes later game easy since you can survive without ever having to enter a town anymore.Bad for gameplay obviously and people would not come here and say the infamous "now that I have everything,what do I do?" line.Less animal spawns and make drinking from ponds and lakes giving a chance to get sick and hence much more susceptible to the infection.Easy cure for the easiness that stems from a canteen and a knife.Maybe a new spawn is water purifier pills? Military hot spots should be were players go to get the good stuff.Everything and I mean everything from vehicles,weapons,large ammo spawns to even vehicles.Problem is they have no food or medical stuff so camping them is only feasible when your well stocked.I also think a good way to make military infected harsher is to give them armor so that headshots are the feasible way to kill them. Since fear of being bitten is on top priority,I think spawning players should get a few cokes and some candy bars in their bags and the advice to head north and try their best to not get bitten. :P Also,I think the canteen should hold 3 drinks while being rarer to spawn.This will make it seem precious since the food stuffs are rarer. What do you guys think? Could be helping a squad mate to get some meds and the sick players screen is getting all blurry but he does not say a word about it for fear of being killed.LOL Then when the time nears and no sight of meds you could have player start randomly mumbling/screaming like the infected do at which point players around them just open fire.

Some very good arguments here.Makes more sense that we are immune and that the virus was airborne. I think that the fact that a knife and canteen make being able to wander off into forest a bit game breaking though.Probably how the really long surviving characters are doing it.Bring in water purification pills and lake water that has chance to make you sick.Then reduce the animal spawns or even better make them run away when you get close....even better. :) Then again maybe rocket planned it this way....to give the mainly survival type players a chance to run free in the woods. -

Love the idea and a good way to make this work is to add in skillZZ to the mod.Maybe after acertain amount of time you are giving a choice of skill to choose from. Better ability to control weapon sway Better endurance better medical experience Tracking

Man o man there always seems to be people bringing sex into games.Take Skyrim and the huge amount of sexual mods.Last night I laughed so hard when a guy suggested a mechanism to have players mate and have babies.Some one posted "Oh great....a game with a mostly male playerbase and you want them to have sex for babies" That just made me literally LOL. Now u ask for blowing other dudes for beans to ladyboys(the males who ALWAYS play as female type) having best gear from services rendered.It will be a freak show so please do not do that to this mod. :(

I have always wanted this in a game but with added difficulty of having to click on an ammo box and drop a cartridge onto the mag where an audible click sounds.Pain in the ass but gives a subtle feel that IMO would add to the feel of loading mags. -

Monkey crawlers attack down low so they should be only zombie to break legs.That makes em slow but deadly.Fast runners swing at arms/head so broken arms and maybe concussions. Plus there should be a bite attack and icon(slowly gets red and then u a zombie!!) when bitten that transfers the virus.Should happen by chance as you would fight with your life to prevent it.Maybe get infected yourself if you do not take antibiotics in a set time. -
I always feel that a post apocalyptic world not only will have a military presence but needs it for immersion.It would add so much to the world if your hiking along a road way up north and see a convoy of military vehicles on patrol of trying to cleanse towns.Military choppers overhead and stumbling onto towns where the military are trying to cleanse the infected by force would add to the feeling of a war on humanity.Maybe allow 10 out of 50 players to be military and they spawn in military bases armed to the teeth.When a spot or spots open up from men being killed the next troop gets delivered by a player flying transport to the patrol.Think of the possibilities.....bandits getting hold of military vehicles and then a war within a war erupts.Or being survivors you can walk up to military men and get water and food stuffs. Next is to slow down the running speed to a jog.Feels weird to me that I can't tell a difference from running to sprinting.Yes I know:P it will take longer to get places but will add that subtle realism that you know just adds and adds on top.You could have it so that if you sprint you burn the amount of food you do now but if you jog your calorie consumption goes way down.This way people can run across Chenarus as they do now but have the option of not burning thru their food supplies when traveling the same distance by simply jogging. Also,the footsteps sound when slow crouching is way loud.That ruins immersion for me big time since when I wanna be silent I wanna hear me being silent.Would love to see the HUD dissapear if things worked that way by just varying the volume of footsteps.Coming from Stalker,we had mods that made the HUD almost non existent in the lower corners by using very small icons with muted colors.

Bandits already have to watch their back, ANY player has to watch their back regardless of their playstyle I don't think your getting my point.A bandit will find a nice cozy spot and wait while survivors run around gathering loot to survive.They attack/wait/attack/wait.But survivors should get tips so they can fight back this murderous practice.:P You get a radio and suddenly you see "bandit spotted in Quagalama".If its close you now can decide if you wanna pay back the bitches with their own medicine.....being hunted. No way should they get rid of PVP as it just adds to the new fucked up world feel.BUT even the playing field by allowing good people to actually fight back....and with no bandit skins needed.Just enter the area and watch and wait for the little boogers to pop their heads up.Maybe even spawn top vigilantes with killer skins and NVG!! LOL Just think of the possibilities.Helicopters/radios/vigilante squads.......... Dont punish bandits artifcialy but instead encourage vigilantism. -
What I would love to see and fits a Zombie Apocalypse is getting rid of the shoulder holster and move weapon to hip firing the way most civilians turned zombie hunters would fire.

I dont get it,people play CS and just run around racking kills over and over.Thats a great game judging from the fanbase.Your bored then turn DayZ into a deathmatch.Only thing is you have to eat and drink and you can die which really sucks.Plus it has infected everywhere you go and the atmosphere that they bring.Day night cycles etc etc -

Maybe have it so that the really good high humanity players get a radio given to them that broadcasts bandit areas.So now its worth it to not be a bandit and you can then go on hunting sprees if broadcasts are near your area.
