I am all for reduced water/drink spawns but feel it just needs a tweak to make it work better.That tweak is to make hunger not cause blood loss but instead greatly reduce endurance.Make it just an annoying thing to live with while you hunt and scavenge for food sources since in reality you can last a very long time without.This of course has nothing to do with blood increase when you eat but just no blood loss from hunger. Water on the other hand should stay as is since dehydration is a killer.Less drink spawns though and I think the canteen should be made into a 3 use item before having to refill.

Game gets dull after fully geared (suggestions for Arma 3)

This is because DayZ is geared towards a loot leveling system.You strive for better loot from the minute you spawn.This is not a good model to base the game on though IMO.The game should be all about survival and have guns thrown in to help.I spawned last night and 5 minutes later I found an ill placed tent right by the coast loaded with some excellent gear.I will admit it....I got bored a few minutes later.I couldn't believe it but there it was.So what next I thought,should I head to NWAF and PVP. :( No,I thought thats the end of DayZ for me instead.But thankfully my last try was my best DayZ game session to date.The next life was miserable and I was crawling around scavenging for loot eventually dying to 3 zeds that were standing in a shed that contained food.Broken leg and all,I almost made it to a hospital,but fell to malnutrition after 3 hours of excellent gameplay on my PC.:D We all agree that humans want what they do not have...right??Ok,my point is that the game should make it so we want to survive as goal so you do not need to worry about endgame.Survive as the end game is where its at since endgame=YOUR DEAD!!!Instead of people looting up fast so they can head to NWAF to snipe,make their drive in DayZ world to stay alive as long as possible. MAKE SURVIVAL THE MAIN PURPOSE OF DAYZ This is accomplished by lowering ammo amounts first off.The amount of spawns of ammo seems right to me but the amount in each loot pile is absurd.I had so much Enfield ammo I was leaving it behind and that is an immersion breaker right there.Why is that you ask....well the same reason that I got bored when I found that uber gear.....I just went into town and started blasting away because I knew how much ammo I had.Because in real life you will never ever just go into town guns blazing since ammo doesn't grow on trees,I just felt kinda blah about the whole thing.But when I got down to one clip left once again DayZ became what it is destined to be,a struggle.;) Then the high end gear...its just too much.The game shines when you have a relic type weapon.It just feels right when your crawling around a small town with a shotgun,crossbow,enfield etc.That feeling is gone when your crawling around a town with a .50cal sniper rifle,ghilie suit and NVG's and a squad standing next to you loaded with enough ammo to level the town 4 times over.Sadly its the players that are making it so that camping high end loot spots is the endgame.Never get rid of them though as the game needs the high end weapons for immersion and that all important feeling of WOW look what I just found after a day of scavenging.Just make them extremely rare and that when you find one,the ammo u find with it is basically it.Do not make it so that its a....lets head to NWAF as I need .50cal ammo but rather SHIT no more ammo for my sniper,drop it for whatever weapon you find in next town because after all your survival is most important.;) I hope I am getting my point across.Make survival the end game and the game will make itself.Or maybe I am way wrong here.The way to test this is to make a test update that has these ideas in mind and see what happens.I really think that two survivors making a choice like...I'll take the Enfield,you take the Makarov so that the little ammo we find we can split easily....is where this game should head.Make it so that when you see other players you feel more like wow survivors then wow better loot. Also,one more thing.When your in a group and scavenging for loot to survive they should add in a mechanism that increases your visibility and audibility by one line.So if your alone and crawling you have one line each but if in a group it should be two lines.Reason is that its easier to spot large groups of people. -

I think some here are missing the point of what DayZ really is.I have been a big proponent of realism in games even modding my on Stalker game so where I had to eat and then sleep to regain health points(medkits gave no health increase).Felt great to be limping like crazy searching for a safe spot to curl up to regenerate some health back.I had to hunt mutants to eat and counter their radiation with vodka or anti-rads.The vodka was ridiculous because I felt if you drank a liter of vodka to reduce your radiation,that you would be very buzzed.Stalker had a great drunk animation with blurry vision and when you pressed W you would veer left and right and I bumped it up a large amount.It was really fun but the very small maps and mutants/bandits at known locations ruined it.It needed a huge world to explore and survive in and the Stalker world becomes to crazy at end game to play since your attacked by too many creatures at once.I dreamed of someone doing it in A2 but it never was fullfilled even with the Stalker mods of which I tried to hint at them to do.I never even tried any of the Stalker mods for A2 since I knew what I was looking for was not there.And then DayZ appeared where you had to eat and survive with the one life you were given.;) DayZ itself is what brings the masses.I purchased A2 and then OA and was bored with both in a weeks time.Yes,if your in a group then A2 can be a blast but solo plays it just had no pull at all.So what does DayZ bring....its simply realism.Realism means one life,having to eat,having to drink,having to pack your bag,having to make choices on what to carry,having to avoid bad weather,having to hunt,having to navigate etc etc.For me,the more real Rocket makes the experience the more real it becomes.Go for as much realism as you can cram in and the world becomes more and more believable. Then you feel connected.I can tell you that I dread playing DayZ after I die.I just do not wanna restart for the 20th time and deal with A2 bugs.Died just now when I switched to throwing cans while surrounded by zeds.But every time I force myself and soon start to get dehydrated and my hunger is rising,I just connect right back in to the game.I gotta get my priorities straight here...ok find some food and hopefully a weapon.:) -
Rocket is sadistic though so do not expect no broken legs anymore. ;)

For example during the ice age the gulf of mexico didn't exist because it was land, the Mediterranean sea didn't exist because it was the worlds largest natural salt plain three times the size of the American salt lake in Utha (if not more), the barrier broke and let in the sea after the ice melted, this is what created the rock of Gibraltar, it used to be a land pass until it gave way. This is probably the reason the Great Flood fable is in the Bible. LMAO, nah mate the English invented the sandwich before, what is a hamburger apart from a sandwich with fried meat inside. Yeah its a very long time ago and in a sense it is wrong to say that they descended from Spain but more correct to say they descended from primitive men that came "thru" what is today called Spain.But even today the north of Spain is very closely linked to the Isles genetically speaking. And Hamburger....I swear I read that it was invented in Hamburg Germany.;) LOL You do make a good point that its a chooped meat sandwich.I guess they invented the name then.

WOW that was excellent!!! :) Was expecting to turn it on and then off and leave it alone but you made some really creepy tunes there.And the fact that its just ambiance in background and keeps same terrifying sound instead of changing tempo etc is also excellent.

Yep....you know there will be a Stalker edition that will rule.Head out searching for artifacts.When back at cordon you trade for better outfits that allow you to go further into the zone. This video could be you joing a faction and having to take out rival gang for territory rights.

This is why the respawn option should be deleted.Imagine spending a week as a gangs slave and not being able to restart. LOL

Awesome video.I Had a smile watching thru the whole thing.That part where the car jumps in air while turning onto the field showed how much anger they had.I could just imagine what they were screaming.Oh and seeing you laugh and broadcast your laughter was great too. :) -

Well i come from the most Germanic part of England, the north east. We have kept our accent and still mostly speak anglo-saxon words in our slang and everyday talk, so what is that, 640ad and onwards? We say Zed and we're right. The very first idea of being English was first written on the banks of the river tyne in newcastle upon tyne, before then we were jutes,angles,saxons and an assortment of brythonic tribes. The saxon invasion was in 640ad BUT the romans hired saxon and angle mercs in 43ad to act as auxillary troops to guard hadrians wall and in return were given land in newcastle upon tyne as reward for over 400yrs until the fall of the Roman empire. So you could say the people from newcastle were English BEFORE the English even existed! Didn't all the new studies point out that English people are actually descendants of Northern Spain?The DNA studies seem to link that there was very little Nordic blood but instead the "Original English" were people that traveled to the Isles from northern Spain about 5000 years ago when the ice melted and allowed migration further north.Same with Scottish and Irish people and Ireland was even thought of as an extension of Spain.Not trying to start anything just posting what I found a few weeks ago.Just google "are english people descended from spain" "spain and ireland connection"

I like these ideas but they need to be more annoying and then they need something to counter it.;)There also needs to be a way to curb the amount of banditry that is going on.Since we have no God/morals in a video game,Rocket needs to play god in a way.Here is my idea tell me what you think.You need to make it annoying to be a bandit with extra steps having to be done to counter it as the base.First is make them shake like when your in bad pain and second is put their game colors to the lowest amount as when your near death.The only cure for this is to find a bottle of whiskey or maybe new items like zanax,weed etc. What this will do is cause players to wonder if they wanna live with a very dull world and the shakes since they do not have anything to take the edge off after murdering innocents.Drugs and booze can be spawned slowly as a way to artificially control the amounts of bandits.In a way it lets the sadistic masochist have their pie and eat it too.

Ahhh bandit tears.That makes me smile just thinking of it.Would LOVE to see bandits on here whining and crying delicious tears themselves for once.;) As for Stalker....imagine the possibilities in future if this game concept takes hold.Stalker world in this engine would be amazing!! -
Actually it might be kool. LOL Everyone has them nowadays.Would,as you point out work like a compass and a map and a clock etc.Batteries would be on your list of things to scavenge for.

Game is about survival and devs should make it a little harder but only for high tier characters so that endgame is not achievable.What I mean is remove the high gear supremacy and the HG players will suffer/die more and voila...start over to survive while having fun at it.Examples of making it less easy for HG players are... Make matches a 10 use loot so that players can't just live in the woods indefinitely. Make water have a small chance to give infection so that players need to look for antibiotics and not just camp at lakes. Make high gear spawn only at heli drops...and same with high end ammo.This forces HG players to run around alot of the time with Enfields and Winchesters leveling the playing fields and making their lives harder. Make it so that batteries are needed for NVG's The big one for me is the HG ammo at heli spawns only.This really makes the game hard since banditos can't camp 1000meters away and just take potshots. -
Would be very realistic but Rocket is after authentic and realistic is a pain to simulate.

Ammo Scarcity, Military Gear, and more

Some one has been leaving ammo in front of locked houses at their door steps.I say someone since I know its not implemented.This is amazingly good IMO.I am crawling all over towns going from house to house to find that the last house I look in is actually enterable.With a chance for something in each doorway at least the search of a whole freaking town was not done in vain.
