Feels more like a dam Apocalypse now to me and I feel paranoid now where before I felt it was a gamey system that I just had to overcome.Playing at dusk and getting stuck in weeds with zed all around me and popping up and dropping right down LOL.Yes I am aggroing here and there but I am finding I can lose them easier by disrupting their LOS.IMO if I am crawling up and then a zed appears out of nowhere and instantly aggros me then I feel even more immersed as its real.Just looted that castle in almost pure darkness using whiskey bottles and flares.I swear I feel more paranoid now and if Rocket were to add in a rare forest spawn here and there I would be scared playing DayZ. One issue I have is when a Zed makes a sound.Right now its not 3D and so it sounds like its right next to you while the zed is far away and that is too hard with the new aggro model.

    Keep out of their sight.They have less hearing now so just watch where they look and their path of travel.If or when they turn around to backtrack,do not be there LOL.

    Anyone else notice the amount of zeds now.Before it was always around 200 to 300 I noticed.Just now it was 980 zeds.

Am loving the new zeds.Much harder but with more realism feel to them.To you guys saying that they can hear you from far away,that is not what is happening.It seems they toned down their audibility while increasing the visibility and adding in probability to it also.I am now running behind them or crouch running and not being noticed.Just keep an eagle eye out for where they are looking now.And if feels that I am losing them realistically now. Ran around a house a few times and when the zed started to walk I went into crouch and fast crouched away. Be warned though they run up hill fast now so that exploit of running at a certain angle uphill will not work because they will slam you down hard now. :) And yes I still got a broken leg just now but this was after 4 zeds beating me senseless.

    Zombie sounds - Aggro - Passive

    And remove the non3D sound files that make it sound like a zed is right next to you when they are far away.The way this new update has made it harder to move around without getting spotted I think its better to have realistic sounds instead of the non 3D trying to make you paranoid.

    Yet another low fps post

    Nvidia driver 301.42 keeps making FPS drop down to 10fps.I reload the driver and its back to 35 to 40 and slowly drops again.Its not Dayz mod since it drops in normal OA also.Just putting this out there in case it helps anyone. Right now I am reverting to 295.73

  10. The problem is that its just a small map...though largest map for a game.In real world you have endless land to scavenge.

I gathered a group of ten zeds just now and ran around and into a barn.They stop at doorway and some run inside.What I think was changed to counter this is they seem to have stamina now and just slow down and walk crawl after a good while.Seems great to me but it was only one chance so far to try it out.And yes they seem to run up steep hills now.

    The most annoying thing ever.

    Happened to me last night.I went for 1/2 hour only to find myself on the coast at same spot.I tired again and it happened 2 more times.at that point I thought I was losing my mind and was laughing at how a game was causing what happened to me in real life.So I decided to run along the coast to next town and when I got there I headed straight north.....a 1/2 hour later I come out of this clearing and the 3 houses looked so familiar.5 minutes later I was back where I started on the coast at the first town.:-/ It drove me bat shit I just went to bed.

    Did rocket forget to leave us a way out when you spawn with no weapon?Zeds running in buildings and running up hills removes the two only ways to lose them.
  15. What are your observations? I noticed Zombies are way more sensitive to sounds. I fired my gun and ran back into the woods. I looked over and noticed that the zombies were walking towards where the sounds had happened which was pretty cool (like half the entire town lol). Performance wise I felt like it just ran alot better. Last thing I noticed was that the loading screens weren't as messed up and the game just loaded smoother than normal. I only had a quick glimpse before I timed out. Ahh that sounds great.Only connected once so I will hold off on spurting about shit. :)

    OMG this posts shows in full what we are trying to achieve with the harsher world idea post.Its all about the struggle.If they made it so that its super rare to find any military weapon and when found you usually drop it somewhere after expending its ammo,then having to find a new weapon,would you still respawn?Same with limited use matches etc.

    Ok I was crawling past a monkey zed and I agroed a walker a good deal away from me while I was in grass crawling.Something else I noticed is that he seemed to be able to run up the hill I was forced to walk speed on.Is this new?I mean that was my only way to escape but now they can run up steep banks.Could all be on my side so I'll retest.

    I think squeaking gates are in the music and so if you turn music down you stop hearing them.

    Something flashes acorss my screen when in a 1.72 server.I think it reads that I am not running the right version so I ask....are we supposed to manually update to 1.72?

    My idea is different than the OP but did not wanna start a new thread. The sounds needs an overhaul and I am not speaking about weapons.Back in past I complained on A2 forums that the dam birds were so dam loud it was like being in a bird sanctuary with them 5ft from your head and that foot sounds when crouched were way tool loud.In dayz this issue still persists and since I never got anyone backing with me in past,I hope its not the same way for this mod.Here is why they should lower birds,footsteps and also wind. By lowering bird volume you make the forest seem larger since it sounds like they are up in the canopy and not by your head.That is just one reason but the real reasons are that it ruins your chances to really study your surrounding to survive better.When your sneaking around you should be listening for infected sounds and other footsteps but instead you hear this loud cacophony of birds,wind sound that is louder than the trees and shrubs suggest and finally foot sounds that are so annoying and mask the real sounds your trying to listen for. The crouch sounds are the same volume as the standing sound and if they ever get rid of the hud you will never know that your more silent when crouching.
