Hear me out people as I may have a good idea here but it would require people to accept a dumbing down of Arma2's accuracy in weapons. To start,I modded my own Stalker game yrs back where I made the weapons to the stats I could find online.But Stalker sucked due to small maps and just a point and click feel to the gameplay since the weapons felt like lasers.What I then did was do an across the board change so that snipers were as accurate as assault rifles,assault rifles went to as accurate as sub machine guns etc etc.This worked perfectly and was enhanced even more when I added in a little extra bullet drop.Its a game set in a fictional world with monsters so I felt I could err a bit in realism and voila,it was perfect. Now I am not saying to do something so drastic in Dayz as it is based on a realistic military simulator with huge maps,but remember peeps,it also has monsters.And also remember that the rest of the game has huge errs in realism to keep the mod,as Rocket points out,authentic.Maybe a little err in its realism would open up the mod for much better gameplay.And that err in realism could be a reduction in each weapons accuracy and also maybe a bit of extra bullet drop added in.I am talking about a way to force players a little bit closer and to compensate just a touch more for bullet drop.

Rocket said he would love to make a bow for the mod but its a job since it needs animations and a 3D model etc.

Sorry if its been suggested already....I checked doortags,door tags,door tag and doortag and nuthin. Would be very kool if each of us had a dogtag in inventory that had all the info that the debug menu contains,just in better more graphical presentation.This way you could walk over to who you just killed and loot their dog tag for bragging rights.Think about it.....you find a dogtag that shows player has 77 murders. :D You brag about it in the forums. :thumbsup: Could be like a pop up when you click on the dogtag icon that then shows players name,zombies killed,time survived and murders.

Better would be to make it you can last a few hours dehydrated and a day while starving.The problem is that the death by blood loss in one hour from hunger /thirst is too severe.

Third person vs First person view

Make it an option that to befriend a person you both must choose with mouse wheel to be friends which then prevents PVP between the two of you.This would make it so that maybe some people could start teaming up without being friends in real ife. -

But I am right and you know it......the game is geared towards sniper rifles and camping hotspots as end game.There is no inner city fighting will assault rifles etc.There is camping onhills taking out people trying to survive.And again its easier to evade in cities then the NWAF and heli crashes and that was my point,as a way to make snipers less OP.Just remove these as hot spots maybe?Maybe randomly spawn heli crashes all over the map instead of certain places?There are downed soldiers all over the map that have no gear on them.Would be excellent to have rare gear spawn on them all over the map. But alas thats the way this mod is geared.Just my opinion on to why snipers are so OP.if they were so OP then why wouldn't armies just have sniper squads? EDIT...maybe when underground bases come into play then the game will change for the better.Imagine....sniper rifles would get you killed down there.;)

Arggghh I will just post as that was stupid idea.LOL Sniper weapons are OP because Dayz forces players to hit the NWAF for military gear.Its a freaking huge open world and we ahev to go to a huge open field and huge hangars with huge doors...meaning no where to get in and out under some sort of cover.I have been sniped in cities but find its easy to spot them and easy to avoid snipers there.But the airfields are ridiculous. That said,I think dayz is just geared to allow snipers to camp and the good gear loving hordes to take their chances sadly.I posted in past that the very best weapons should only spawn randonly and all over map to get away from this chicken shoot NWAF thing.Even the heli crashes are geared towards being a chicken shoot for snipers.Its as if Dayz said ok lets put best gear in places where snipers can camp and noobs can "try" to get something good and just call it a day.LOL

I was talking about how hard it is to fire at range in real life.maybe a "slight" increase in sway at all stances will make it "slightly" harder for the snipers to get hits.If you hear a gun shot and are not hit with first shot then run for cover and get out of that area.

Shooting a weapon takes alot of concentration and skill when at range.just look at all the videos on you tube of guys missing at freaking 100 yards.You watch the videos and see the barrel moving from breathing.But in A2 it seems easy.No knock on dayz as it uses A2.Would love to see a system added where the weapon sway is erratic but in a small circle and when you hold Rmouse it stabilizes over say 3 seconds to where it is now....then just stays there for a second and back to erratic.Something to simulate the concentrating right before trigger pull.

But the military are also players so it would be same lag as it is now.I am all for this idea.I want reason to kill other players and by having military trying to wipe out us survivors....well then war has been declared.

Pretty sure its client side as this means just infected in your specific area are being calculated.And for people saying that it would be boring to have zombies like these instead of infected.If stamina is ever added in then remember that eventually you need to turn around and fight....and these undead peeps take alot of high caliber munitions to take down.

LOL,I agree and when I start anew I drop my backpack right away.Sometimes I empty all my possessions down to a bandage,pain killers and a makarov in the woods and then run away from it.Sadly I am kitted out again way soon enough when one of those wonderful SUPERmarkets appears in the distance.In regards to getting kitted out in under an hour,gaming the game is the name of the game now.Maybe its best to just go with the Dayz flow and get into NWAF camping?

A way to make the game scarier,or rather creepier is a better word for it,is to add more placeables all over the map.I just started Dayz from last night and was in the village called Krasnostov.Sun was just coming up and I realized that this is the most immersive town I have been to yet(can anyone point out a more detailed town?).Its like a war went on with barricades everywhere.I then see an enterable house in distance and when I get close I see that the grass has started to enter into the entranceway.It just looked like its been a year or so since anyone other than the infected has been in that house.And overall the grass everywhere was out of control it seemed. This got me thinking how enterable houses could tell a story in a way.Little kids bodies strewn all around,people hanging from rafters in barns,molding plates on tables as if the family as eating then got eaten themselves etc tc.Abandoned cars in strategic places,like down in a valley after person lost control driving off the cliff right next to it.And the military men you see strewn all over.When your crawling in grass thru a village and come upon a military dead person,this should be a military spawn point.Military weapons and equipment but of course at very low rates.I understand that spots like the NWAF are a necessary evil to allow the PVP players a battlefield but that sucks since I do not wanna be sniped.;)If instead I could walk up dirt roads deep in forests and stumble upon military vehicles with chance to spawn something good then I would be happy. -

You guys that are afraid of the more rare food item spawns are right....that would suck bigtime.This can be cured by making starving and dehydration more realistic though.By making it so that blood ticks away at a very slow rate you can balance(dare I say it)this with the very rare food/drink drops.Now you will not camp around and think of ways to grief and murder but be constantly scavenging.And of course you have hunting and lakes to supply you with still in game. I would also change the way you can reheal so fast in game.Gorge on a few steaks and voila you are instantly at full health.Make even steaks take a long time and you will be struggling to survive.And that is where the magic of this game is....or doesn't Rocket remember this?? But alas these suggestions fall on deaf ears. -
Wait what ^^^^ This is the worst part of A2 for me.I was watching a guy running around 300m from me and everytime I turned my mouse the screen would get so dark I would lose sight of him.Its also giving me headaches as my eyes are adjusting to varying light levels constantly.But sadly I tried these tweaks weeks ago and still no good.;(
