The Road look will not fit in Dayz as there would be no reason for it looking so gloomy.In the Road it is always overcast because of a dust cloud covering the whole sky which is what made the world die.More fitting is garbage strewn everywhere.The streets are too clean and the piles of cars and washing machines blocking the roads doesn't convey anything IMO. -
Third person vs First person view

3rd person is most comfortable to use,no doubt,but the cheats ruin its benefits.The ultimate solution would be for the game to only show what the character can see in 1st person when in 3rd person.Would also love to hear if thats possible from a dev.Another solution would be to allow people to cheat except when they go prone.... Yeah,its very kool how we can go into A2 and choose from the many faces there to give some customization and I would feel very sad if SA shipped without that.

Gotta say I love the infected look of the new woman.Much better than the blood everywhere on face of old.She looks sick from something and I can't wait to gut her open. One thing though is you guys forget that the world is not just full of dark black,Asian and blonde haired blue eyed white men.Please make ALOT of faces to choose from and remember that the world is not just these 3 sterotypes.;)

A little tweak I found that some of you may like.S is normally move backwards and you can put S(x2) as go prone.Works well and frees up key. :)

I am really hopeful that the TOH engine upgrades will fix all the light issues that A2 has.I suffer greatly from the look down/excessive bloom and look up/excessive darkening issue.Its very jarring and reduces immersion for me greatly.Then the cone flashlights is another one that is horrid.I have hopes for this though not high hopes.;(

Standalone - Guns as melee weapons once you run out of ammo

There will be a ton of melee weapons.I say if you need to melee due to lack of ammo or stealth that a semi slow animation of switching to your melee weapon would be great....and to offset this all rifles in game can have bayonets rigged onto them for faster melee attacks without the changing weapons animation.Should be weaker and require headshots!!! -
We complain of the fact that once you find the essentials(matches/knife) there is no more feel of survival,boredom then sets in and players switch over to PVP.I say make blood bags very rare and allow lone wolves to give themselves IV.Then drop food way down to make searching for next meal an always present part of the experience.Trying to give a need to always scavenge with hatchets and knives that quickly dull doesn't feel authentic while food being scarce does.And if bloodbags are rare its another item to always be on the hunt for making hospitals a hotspot for PVP.Supermarkets should spawn bloodbags at even lower rate than hospitals to allow PVE players to avoid the deathmatch that will be hospitals. And please for SA make matchboxes be loadable and you find matches rarely thru out the map.To counter the possiblity of never finding matches make raw meat edible with the chance of infections.

I always felt that hold Rmouse is perfect for "holding" up the weapon to sights as it feels like your actually holding it up. :rolleyes: plus so many times in a fight I click too fast and can't get the dam iron sights up!!! Plus another irk of A2 controls is how they have Z,X,C as the prone/crouch/stand keys when X for prone and C to toggle between crouch and stand would be worlds better.

You can get way more accurate than that with practice.

Crosshair that gets bigger and smaller dependent on the amount of dispersion is ugly though and breaks immersion.A small dot though will disappear unless the player looks for it.And A2 already changes the sway dependent on stamina/movement etc so no need to add any more.Small amount of aiming deadzone though and you make the hipshooting slightly harder even when people mark their LCD's

The bear trap we have now could be used?Was thinking that you can lay them down all over certain areas of map that you mark off on your map.Then you can make a run to see if anything has spawned in the trap. -
I just remembered something....Rocket once said that he is not making this game to be easy.Don't cater to anyone,remove the crosshairs,be done with it and move on.;)

This was what I am speaking about in my post.By using the in-game aiming dead zone you can have the floating barrel which evens the playing field of people who will mark their LCD's. ;) Drop compasses?You must have never done circles in Dayz for a few hours to start getting dejavu and feelings of depression.Trust me in real life you have a better sense of heading in a certain direction but in A2 you make a slight turn and everything looks the same.Plus the more necessary loot the player can find the better the experience as its what drives you to look further. Try it in game but add only one click than adjust it to half of that.Its enough to give the floating barrel effect without being annoying.Put a small dot on screen as crosshair and your bullets will hit around that circle and it gets wider and wider with distance.You can learn to put dot a bit past the target and then nudge weapon back though so I am ok with no crosshairs also.

DayZ 2017 first impression.

For me I love it and its gonna get even less loot in future updates. :o Its not for everyone for sure but if you like the survival/scavenging style more then it will be your type of game.I just died to hunger on 2017 and was super immersed.My blood was slowly dwindling away from hunger due to me spending too long trying to get this moto bike up and running.For some reason no animals were spawning except for a rabbit I spotted off in woods.I snuck up on it and took my shot killing it but when I ran to it I couldn't find it in the grass. :( Made my way to Stary supermarket finally and was hoping to find a can of food as I was fainting from malnutrition but alas.So with blood icon blinking and me fainting here and there I did the disgusting deed.....I killed an infected and gutted it.Funny thing is that before I could even cook it up I died a few feet away as I fainted and was finally eaten myself. :thumbsup: I feel that infection should be severe to discourage eating of infected as has been pointed out it kinda removes the survival feel with so much food roaming around.Dropping blood down to the fainting level should work well to deter eating infected peeps.It should be a last resort that your gonna be screwed if you go down that road until u find antibiotics.Eating other players though shouldn't cause infections. I really hope that SA allows modding soon after release as many other players as well as myself like this style of gameplay.I doubt it will attract a huge portion of the players away from the SA so I don't think its a bad thing. -
I think having a very small dot centered on screen is best as it allows you to do a few things with it while being very unobtrusive.First is that you really need a reference point when you go to use binoculars,make a melee attack,use a grenade,open doors,pick up objects etc.I do not think the dot should move though but instead be stationary as the crazy erratic crosshair when stamina depleted adds to the clunky feel of Arma2. This very small dot can also be used as a humanity indicator that can range from green to dark red when placed over another player.Another thing is it can maybe flash to signal a "use default action" option is enabled,like when passing over a door or a ladder. The dot will also improve the weapons feel of Dayz.Play with no crosshairs on and when you try to bring your weapon sights up your usually way off of the target which just feels off?The dot gives you a reference point so that you can do quick raises of weapon and be spot on target.One thing that can improve this aspect while at same time making hipfiring less accurate is to use the "aiming deadzone" feature.By locking it at a certain level the weapon moves in a small diameter around the stationary crosshair dot that causes accuracy to get worse with distance.Just one click to the right and back it up by half is perfect as too much aiming deadzone is annoying and most people play with none at all.This causes it to be harder to aim when hip firing but the bullets will fall in general direction.Up close though and this slight deadzone is hardly noticeable as it would be in real life.

Running zombies are awesome.What I hope the SA brings though is spotting infected chasing animals around or getting drinks from water sources.

There is a problem where people make things super realistic then others authentic etc etc.Go into a server that has a full moon at night and put gamma all the way up.This is how dark nights should get and thats that.....IMO of course.Out in open your good and can see things well but it gets very dark in wooded areas or indoors etc.This is perfect so you can travel and only need flashlights at certain points.Again adding in authentic and other times using pure realism has no place in regards to playing a game at nighttime.,......at which in realistic terms we would all be sleeping.

Trying to make something realistic that is far from realism is not gonna be an easy task friends. I posted this many times here and I will post again. :D Medkits that take 5 minutes to complete and fully heal your ability to take full 12000 damage points irregardless of where the blood icon is at.If you medkit up your wounds then your reset to be able to take 12000 damage points again before death.The blood icon is more geared to just eating and drinking though if your bleeding it does still drop.This way you can change the eating mechanism to realistic feeling.....aka you eat only when your food icon is blinking. ;) Allows players to run around with 1000 blood and still be able to take normal damage amounts but worried about bleeding out. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: -

Yes I did.Its crazy to be able to only eat when hungry and only receive on average 400 per steak.if your down to 1K blood then it will take you 30 meals to achieve full health again. :( 15 meals is harsh enough. :rolleyes: :D
