TRUTH^^....people get critical over the strangest things on the net.But I will be honest with you and say that my mind did a 360 yesterday when a commercial for Guiness BLACK lager came on the tube and the motto was "once you go black you never go back".I wonder if some people started sending emails over that one... -

Hell Yeah! Could be a way to put money into BI's pocket by making you buy TOH to learn to fly them first.But that might piss some people off.Then again you could just watch this video.... -
From what I have read about the Arma2 engine,its extremely hard to do animations.This is why the reload animations are so terrible compared to other games.But since this is full standalone and I think it will be a big seller than I am all for these animations.Another area that I hope the standalone really puts good effort into is the bolt action rifle animations.And of course killer shotguns w/reloads and pump action!!

I actually hate the skins aspect for reasons that it never works to convey if the person is good or bad.I get killed by heroes all the time and not by peeps wearing headwraps.I sometimes KOS and just wonder what type of player I just killed was.To me I would rather see a choice when you start the game like when your asked male or female. Male/Female Good\Evil Then make two sets of skins you can find with them being for either good or evil players only.Another idea I think would be kool is to make say 5 skins that get more and more badass as you kill more of the opposing type of players.Be honest and agree with me that if you had a level 5 bandit skin(10 kills per level) that was a ghillie suit with a hockey mask and then get killed you would feel much pain! :) -

This has been stirring in my head ever since I found Dayz....The infected are too predictable.When I stumble up to a town,deer stand etc,I see infected start roaming away from their spawn points and just wait.Its the same pattern and its so predictable that at times I wonder if its better to do away with them altogether to elicit a feeling of abandonment.But I am thinking that maybe infected should spawn in super low numbers and spawn around the player.This means they can spawn anywhere on the map but with higher chances of spawning in city centers compared to out in the wilderness.Hear me out though as this could add more fear while at same time be less taxing to the systems. 2 types can spawn and if your sneaking around and see a crawler,consider yourself lucky as they NEVER get up but instead crawl due to being near death.But if you spot a monkey walker,which signals its well fed,then they will get up at super human speeds and try to git ya.When crawlers spawn they crawl all the time BUT the more dangerous types just stop and wait.Ever turn a corner and an infected is just standing there?Its super creepy shit!!You want it so that players are very very quiet while in towns sneaking as best as they can with the purpose of listening for anything out of the ordinary.If they hear the familiar moans infected make then they will know one is close by.In wilderness the infected behave differently though.In this case they spawn a certain distance away from you and start moving towards your direction of travel.These two type of behavior kinda make sense as the city dwellers are stopped as they are where they want to be just listening for any sounds while the wilderness infected are looking for a new area to hunt in. Some other things that can add to immersion are They spawn at times inside of buildings. Much harder to kill with with body shots with head shots still being instant death. If a player gets killed by an infected then that infected stays by the body the whole time the dead players body stays on the server.This is a fear and immersion addition so that new players stumbling upon this grizzly scene will see a person being eaten slowly. If a player gets killed in PVP then after a certain time an infected spawns to eat this dead player till they are removed from the server. If you do set one off,either crawler or stander,then they start screaming and alerting other infected at which point the spawn rate doubles and they start headed towards the direction of the screamer. As for the mood this sets,you can try it yourself.Start up normal Arma2 and go into Chenarus with weapon of your choice.Then set the immersion by going into options/sound and then moving the "effects" setting to be right under neath the T in the word "sound opTions".This sets the wind very low,the footsteps etc very low and just makes you try to hear whatever else is out there hiding behind a bush or whatever.Then use your imagination to "imagine" searching a city and suddenly hearing something. REspond even if just to say NO.....- 1 reply

This made me laugh so hard!!!!!! Just make survival hard and force the care bears to murder for beans and see what happens next!! AKA make everyone a bandit or force them to truly look into their own soulds LOL. -

Make the items small so you can carry them.Carburetors,radiator hoses,tire repair kits,helicopter hydraulic fluids.Ecverytime I see that heli rotor I say DAM!!!!! -

Since they have ability to watch everyone then maybe a player can get warned after repeated offenses if they kill a person who spawns with no weapon? -

The way I see it every town should have spawns more abundant the closer to its center you get and then have infected running in buildings and being drawn to the screams of other infected like they do to a weapon being fired.This way running thru towns becomes a very bad move but one that must be done at times if you really want to survive.This gives the feeling that its safeR to search the outskirts then to go deeper into the towns as it should be.And if you do get spotted inside towns you better have alot of ammo on you.This would make snipers waiting deep in the woods not shoot the poor sod who is trying to get something from deep in towns as they would then have to risk their own hides to go in and retrieve the loot.Better to wait for the poor sods to escape and then put a bullet in their heads!! Hospitals should always be dead center of town. Get rid of all farm animals and keep rabbits and add in deer as main food sources that you can hunt to force a gameplay of do or die.This will remove the get geared up and just live in the woods thing.Can't seem to catch a rabbit then its time to enter some towns sucka,Good Luck!! Maybe set traps that you can mark on your map to keep a supply of food going?And remove the bloodloss from hunger as this is allows this idea to work. Great that the lakes and wells are being placed everywhere on map.But IMO Canteens should be very rare with players allowed to drink straight from water sources.My last character I was carrying around 5 canteens and never felt worried.I force myself to only carry one now and its better but I am constantly looking for water.Great to hear that canteens will be three swigs to empty as that makes a nice balance. Forgot to add..... We need more tools and not just a tool box.The game is sweet when you find that super important compass right?Its like FUCK YEAH just what I need.So make a wrench for engine repairs,a wire cutter to jump start vehicles and get thru barbwire,crowbars to crack open locks,tire irons to change tires etc etc.And no carrying on belt all the bull crap(axes,tool boxes etc) as the game needs the feel of decisions decisions of what to take or leave behind. -
For now only concentrate on rabbits as they have run animations and will run if you get in a certain radius.I have let loose whole clips of my pistols trying to catch some of them only to then die of starvation.Stay away from the M1911 as I still haven't figured how to shoot that thing.

I don't think upping the hit damage is good.Its to computerish looking of an effect to get hit twice and your instantly at low blood.You want to add in fear and panic to the mix and timed stuff adds tension by forcing the player to make the choice "drop down now and bandage or wait". I feel that increasing the bleeding rate from infected bites and each bite causes you to need painkillers to stop the shakes would be better.Maybe if you get knocked down and are being eaten alive you have to waste a precious morphine to function again. TD:LR Getting bitten causes harsher bleeding and pain(pain killers) and if you get dropped and a few start gnawing on you you will need some morphine. -

I do not pickup any canned foods I find and with sodas I only pickup what I find in those small cabins with the lights on.I only hunt and drink from wells/lakes most of the time.I only eat one steak from each animal I kill and only eat when I am blinking red in hunger.I have died a few times from lack of food/drink but feel this only adds to survival feel. For weapons I only pick up guns that have ammo with them and then I use them till they are empty at which point I then scavenge for a new weapon.This part has me running around with 4 or 5 bullets at times and adds to that save your ammo feel I crave. And lastly for past two days I have been forcing myself to not run into buildings and instead I will use the outside of buildings to trick the infected or trees etc.So now I have some sense of fear of infected and have had some really close calls losing like 10 of them by diving into sheds or ditches before they turn the corner. Yes I am weird but I like this style of playing the game. -

Just need to give it a backbone.Make it something like post nuclear war and the dust clouds that lifted into atmosphere are rumored to stay that way for 100 yrs.Crops started dying and mass mayhem happened with some people wanting to thin out the herd.;) LOL just something is better than COD KOS gameplay.

Just do what most games nowadyas do and spell the brands slightly different.Heinzz,Mountain Dewy etc.Then a modder can just release the real names and make it client side.DONE! :) -
Just need to vent.....yrs back I told these peeps that you need to make food and drink and survival and your world would be complete and NOTHING!!!! Then comes along Rocket with the idea and the brains to pull it off......just saying.;) Namalsk is super creepy fellas.:)

Why not reduce food severely and then remove the bloodloss from hunger icon flashing red?This will make it so that your able to run around for hours and hours while starving like you can in real life.In real life you can go weeks without food all dependent on your fat reserves.Makes killing more meaningful if your low in health as you might not be finding any canned foods and animals at times are hard to find. Fluids can remain the same but I would reduce drink spawns just to make it feel like an apocalypse where your scavenging all the time to survive and water spots will have to be marked on your map yourself. -

DAM thats some military shit right there!!! They have a mod that removes these restrictions and I hope its added into the standalone but with a twist.Only pistols,sub machine guns,sawed off shotguns and the shortened assault rifles like AK74u should get this fixed but leave the annoying restriction to assault rifles and snipers.
