    two-tier game...quick launch and full

    it would be good to have the chance to let loose every now and then, be it PvP, full on zombie slaying or testing ideas.. though really, i think that would detract from what the game is about my suggestion would be that you use the same character from the RPG, but stats aren't saved for that session

    i wanted to post this myself. i think it's a great idea. i think the backpack should have its own hitbox though, and obviously if NVGS/whatever were being used at the time, they are destroyed with headshots only blah blah
  3. what about this; a sleeping bag is provided as an item on spawn. when DCing, a (insert time here) animation plays, of your character rolling out, entering, and zipping up the sleeping bag. any players in close proximity will hear that animation ie. zipper being drawn, and can pinpoint your location. you can cancel this animation to defend yourself, cancelling the DC. when the animation completes, DC is successful

    Ambulance Spawns and/or 2-3 More Hospitals.

    being an arma2 map, i'm sure we're are going to see dayz specific maps released eventually. once the game is made, and other maps are made, it would take like.. a couple hours at most to merge them together. i don't mean to stop the flow of suggestions though, ambulances would be wicked. EDIT: as would a bike with a sidecar =D

    people can't teleport yet hishnik. plus that opens other loopholes which can be exploited
  6. robert, the current shaking, for sometimes extended periods of time, is highly unrealistic. fuck, i'm sure my vision has only ever gotten smoother when in intense pain, though this is where shaking of the hipfire/ads comes in. it would be cool if they implemented tunnel vision and blurriness in regards to the severity of the pain too.. cosmic, given the current buffs zombies have, where they can make you bleed, break your legs, and knock you out all from a single punch, stop trying to sound badass:blush:

    @OP, great solution but i think for some people 1 hour might be a bit too long, though i think it should be at least 20 minutes. on top of that there should be at least a 60 second log out period or something, so players are forced to find a safe spot to "sleep". if you choose to watch the timer, you can stop it to defend yourself, or you can straight quit and be at anyone's mercy for say, 90 seconds? eh, just throwing values out there. as systemik said i'm pretty sure there would already be a solution for this being mulled over, community suggestions can always make things better though!

    Way to stop quick respawning

    uglyboy just nailed it... that's literally all it takes, remove/break the respawn button. it's easy enough to get yourself killed if you're that keen. and yeah, it does feel nice finally reaching a mate after a trek. i do agree with tyrog aswell.. perhaps they could add a suicide mechanic, with varying bleed out times based on the 'intensity' of the weapon but i think that would ultimately detract from the game. if you want to die, aggro 10 zombies, stand still, done.
  9. makes sense.. when you're in pain, you would be trembling, but not shaking your head around like you are being electrocuted whilst having an epileptic fit. as you said, perhaps a minute of shaking would be good, after which you still tremble pretty hard. maybe the shaking can start again (for short periods of time) when you take further hits, or run/sprint too long

    FEEDBACK: Humanity - heartbeart.

    i think it should be removed completely. there should be no definition between survivors and bandits at all.. if this game ever gets to the point that you can customize your appearance, then bandits will probably make themselves look like bandits. other than that, any system like this removes the human element from the game, and is, in short; lame...
  12. one question, how do you expect to take someones gun right out of their hands? (unless they're afk)..
  13. 2xctrl lowers all weapons (doesn't work for pistols). 2xctrl again or primary mouse click raises the weapon

    if you can swim fully clothed with a 60+ litre backpack and not drown, kudos to you...

    Inpacicate Down time ruins this game.

    the only problem i see here is zombies warping through walls, which is obviously just part of the game being alpha state, and will be fixed. other than that, i really don't think this thread is going anywhere

    gotta remember that right now, killing someone only counts as self defense if they inflict bullet damage first, regardless of whether or not they shot at you beforehand

    i really don't see the need to differentiate between bandits and survivors. this is the kind of game that gets your heart going and sometimes your actions can have a pretty big effect on emotion. say a guy was a bandit, but then something happened that caused him to reconsider his playing style, he should be able to make that decision there and then. if we have have some kind of imbalance like this then that simple beauty is lost.

    A few ideas that might be good for this game.

    these are cool, especially using shells to cauterize the wound :P badass.. when you fire a shot, i don't think zombies know exactly where you. they will go to the exact spot the sound came from, but if you've effectively hidden, i'm pretty sure they lose interest

    Crawling into buildings

    i get what you're saying but at the same time i like the disappointed feeling i get when i realize there are zombies inside a building. to counter this i usually pull the zombies inside away from the area, lose them/cap them, then head back inside (if i really have to be there). having zombies spawn inside is awesome; if this happened for real, there will be zombies inside houses, and we would have to work out how to tackle the situation, if at all

    Player Tags/Player Models

    i understand what you're saying grimes. other than perhaps the weapon/clothes a player is holding/wearing, it can get tricky knowing who is who. if i could count the number of times i haven't shot a bandit who had been taking shots at us, because i thought it was a mate, then i will have learned to count. i'm sure something can be implemented to pull this off effectively. let's hope this thread gets some people talking :)

    +1. it would be great to see players forming alliances etc. with this physical kind of reward. i think rocket has plans of introducing factions, so perhaps something like this could already be in the pipeline.. kling, wouldn't it be great to see dayz released as a game unto itself though? :P such a move could really be the edge bohemia interactive need to take a huge step forward in the gaming industry

    +1 on all these ideas. i think the sleeping bag idea is great. an animation that takes say 10 seconds to set up your bed, then you can safely quit. on that note i think there needs to be a cancel action button, incase you get ambushed while doing anything basically (is there already? i've never had the need.. i know you can with bandaging and stuff..)
