    Yeh I mean opinions are opinions and this game is not made by me, I wouldn't know how anyways. I'm just speaking as someone using my own personal experiences and as a fan of the game... I just think releasing the game wouldn't cause complaints, people are not stupid and know what they're buying. If you try to fool people like Warz, then you get that result, if you try to put some bullshit DRM on the game like Sim City, then you get that result. If you say the game is Alpha, buy it at this knocked down price, be honest about it and continue to support it, then you get the result of Minecraft or ARMA 3. Dayz is really in that category too, I don't know a single person who bought ARMA 2 and it's obvious that most people bought the game for Dayz than they did originally. People basically bought Dayz, they didn't buy ARMA 2 and no one has complained, there hasn't been a big outcry. We all knew what we were buying... Personally I feel like Dayz SA should be released now, there is a good window now, not much coming out for quite awhile that will compete. You don't wanna release towards the end of the year or anywhere near COD, BF or GTA etc etc. I just wanna play Dayz again before I get tired of waiting lol. Edit: What I have found though is the private servers and custom maps have tended to go towards a different direction and people have gone that way too. I'm just hoping on release of SA that you don't prevent that because it's my personal preferred way of playing. I'm a purist and any form of instancing or making stuff easier would just be the end for me, it has to be seamless, it has to be hard and I want maximum customization, no matter what the cost to the smoothness of the game. To the point I play Project 1999, SWGEmu and Feenix server for WoW Vanilla, for me these emus are better than what the developers have tried to make. It is important to allow mods, history has shown that games with mods do better than without, Dayz has proven this. BF1942 with DC Mod, BF2 with PR mod, HL2 probably sold more on the millions of Source based mods, that it ever did for the SP game. The original HL wouldn't be as big as it is now without CS, TFC, DoD NS etc etc. Edit: My complaint isn't about the video being unprofessional or anything like that, I just don't think it was good. As someone who will watch anything on a game I cannot wait for and who will watch every episode of a TV show like Breaking bad in a weekend because someone recommended it to me.... I just don't think it was worth watching. There was no real content and it wasn't presented in a way where I knew what the hell was going on. I don't get why you're so reserved on showing certain things other than they're not really in the game yet. If the new inventory is really in there, then show us so we can give feedback, people wont hate you for it. I dunno though, you're way smarter than me, people who make these games are and it is your game. Btw.     Not impressed, I don't understand the format of it but ok........... just didn't really show anything and everyone was awkward on it. Please for the love of god, turn off motion blur and post processing, it just makes everything look like crap. ARMA 3 does it too be default and I don't understand why, I'm not liking HDR though, I wish I could turn it off in ARMA 3 because it gives everything this haze to it. I don't want zombies to move faster or follow you faster either, the problem with them right now is they aren't fun to fight. Like they glitch out all over the place, their animations suck and all the time I go "fuck sake I aggro'd" and I often wonder why. Like the way they spot or hear you seems rather random right now. I'd rather a more gamey system like MGS guards or something, that was it would be predictable. It isn't fun to aggro either, you have to drag them into a building to slow them down otherwise they're impossible to hit. I'd rather Slower zombies but just having more of them and more ways to kill them with fun items like Dead Rising or something. I just dunno what is taking so long to release it, I feel like the hype is going down and you've missed the window a bit. I'm fine with buying what you have now and getting updates released like how Dayz used to be. If you're up front and honest that people are buying an alpha then there can be no complaints. If it ends up being released at the end of the year or something, I'll just find it hard to care. I got bored of Dayz like Oct last year and have been waiting ever since. However for some reason waiting turns into bitterness and lots of my friends feel the same where they're bored of waiting and they ain't interested any more. I mean I'm still interested, however if I'm not gonna have any friends playing, I'll find it hard to stick around. Similar thing happened with Planetside 2 where it's like, we're waiting for too long for something to be implemented, my friends quit, so I did because it isn't fun and no one cares enough to go back to it anymore. So I think the Dayz hype train is only declining and you need to release it sooner rather than later. It's fun to by an alpha game and get updates for it often anyways, that is why I loved Dayz so much back in the day because there was always something new. As soon as there stopped being new stuff, I got bored of it and haven't had any desire to go back to it since. I don't want the UI to be streamlined either, I love how it takes ages to use it. If it's gonna become quick then suddenly the risk of looting is gone and suddenly the time is taken out too, so there is no risk in switching between items. In real life you don't have everything on a hot bar, you'll have to go through a bag to get stuff... Really though all I wanted form Dayz SA is a Dayz game I didn't have to go round and install on peoples PCs because they found to to complicated to do so. Then a new map or a Chernarus that was actually fun to play on, you know maybe a big city in the middle so people travel instead of staying in the same locations. Maybe some NPCs and base building that was seamless and not instanced because that would suck. Obviously the zombies fixed or taken out because right now they add nothing to the game, just serve to annoy. I'm not impressed by the video though, I think it was poorly done, and I dunno you came off like too protective over your own work. Really I'd like to see a more natural video where you're just having a play session.... Just give it that Frankie1080p guy and that 5hizzle twitch TV guy and watch them play on the same server with other people like TB and Yogscast, it would be more fun having a video series like that, where they stumble upon new features instead of having them forced.
  4. I don't mind these mods if they're done right, I'm sick of the server browser being full of Wasteland servers, which just sucks right now. It's too hard to find a good game, pretty much all the stuff people are creating are such crap. I'm going to wait for the main island before I play though, I'd love Dayz for that island, I wouldn't want it for this small island, it's not a fun or well designed island, it's just crap and for some reason people are putting the spawns so close.

  8. The problem isn't the distance it saw you, the problem I have is Zombies aren't fun to fight. There are games that make them fun and you want more zombies, sadly however zombies move too fast and erratically and they animate so poorly that it appears they're hitting you out of nowhere. They need to make Zombies smooth and slower in Stand alone and just put more in.
  9. The cans in the inventory pisses me off, in real life I do not decided to carry the empty can I've just taken the contents out of.
  10. Seriously, you spend half the time on the map running for 10 mins around a wall. Even in the cities, you just get rows of buildings that might as well just be tall walls. Everything just feels fake and so poorly put together. Even when you spawn the map is annoying, for some reason every bit of the coast has a long trek up a mountain through a forest :\
  11. It is because at this point Chernarus is so boring I cannot play standard Dayz, what makes me so disappointed about the SA, I was hoping for it to be on ArmA 3 using the new island they've made.

    I just want the game to be released in its current form so I can get excited to play Dayz again by getting new patches each week. It is so boring playing Dayz mod because it is pretty much dead in terms of development.

    For me it looks too fake, everything places perfectly but also poor design like how there are never any holes in walls and you have to sometimes run right round a big city to get where you want.... in real like you can just jump over a wall, which is what the holes in Chernarus serve as. Just a bad map IMO. That said Chernarus needs a big city in the middle.
  14. http://s14.postimage...01_13_00001.jpg Everything is turned up but AA is off as for some reason my FPS goes to like 20 in towns with 670SLI and a Core I7 980 and AA makes it even worse, so I keep that off. However I've turned FXAA sharp on as it gives the best alternative results and I've turned Post Processing off because it makes the game even more uglier. I just don't get how to make the game look good, when you disconnect and you get shown that moving render of where you are without all the Dayz stuff, the game suddenly looks great, there is no fog and the colours are much more vibrant and there is more detail. I don't understand while in Dayz or the multiplayer it looks so bad. Edit: Is there a way to turn off fog?

    How do you make this game look good?

    I'm not turning off Hyperthreading for a game, means I then have to keep going in the BIOS to enable it all the time when I want to do something that isn't running on a shit engine. Seriously why don't they stop making their own engines and just work on Cry Engine 3, Crytek have made an engine that uses modern features... when I say modern like 64bit and HT are well over 6 years old now.

    Selfish bastards though ain't they, breaking the law and getting put in Prison while on holiday ( an espionage mission) when they should have been working on Dayz. I mean they've been in Prison for like 4 months? So what? What about my pain? I've been dealing with Dayz Standalone hype disorder, that is only cured by its release... Hopefully this trial will not take place until they've had time to work on getting the standalone out, they have a duty to us gamers, not to go on selfish missions to bring down the Greeks well known military prowess.

    Does sidechat ruin anyone elses game?

    I like side chat because it encourages people to work together, you can chat to the whole server and organise meet ups which I do a lot. Without side chat you cannot announce you're friendly without bumping in to them, by which point it is too late, though you do need name tags on, that makes the game better too. Hopefully when you can have lots of different clothing you can tell people what you're wearing so they know it is you instead of relying on servers with name tags.
  19. They aren't fun to fight, they glitch out all over the place it is so hard to predict what they're going to do as they seem to be missing fluid animations. They always stop as they get near you but seem to hit you from like 5ft away without animating a lot of the time. I hate how every time you're a new character they always make you bleed the first or second time they hit you. I hate how the run super humanly fast and always catch you but they can never hit you, it ruins any tension and makes them just annoying. The only way Zombies are manageable right now is to run inside a building to slow them, run up a hill, in a bush or on the docks. We do this because they just seem so unpredictable in the way they animate that it makes them so impossible to hit unless you're at distance. The most annoying thing about them is you cannot turn off their sound effects which give me a headache, I want them to be on their own slider so I don't have to hear them. I also don't like the whole system in place for how they spot you, I find it to be rather random. It's really annoying to the point people don't bother to sneak around anymore, it isn't worth the effort because you know one will sport you randomly from the other side of the field. There needs to be better systems in place to make zombies fun. Like you should make stamina play an actual role in the game to if zombies catch up to you, zombies need to be made a little slower, animate more smoothly, stop glitching about all other the place and need to be able to hit on the move. You can balance the less erratic zombies in other ways like having more, making them go a faster pace in buildings and fix stuff like losing them in bushes so easily. I'd also love to see a mini map with rings that go out from your character to show you how far the noise you're making is going out. I'd also love a similar MGS system of their sight, it would make it far more satisfying to sneak around. I'm not saying be as obvious as MGS or have their sight be like 2m infront of them, just there needs to be more gamey features to give you feedback. But omg most importantly let me turn down their moans and groans as its own separate slider lol.

    Will the custom maps work in the SA?

    It's pretty much a death sentence not to support them, people will stick with the mod for that reason, I don't know any one who plays public servers, we're all on private hives because we're bored of Chernarus. I have no idea why they're sticking to Chernarus, they aren't changing much, only fleshing out building interiors and what not, the map will be the same.
  23. Will there be TF2 hats with the pre-purchase of the Standalone on Steam? I think that could be the most important thing to come from the standalone.
  24. I'm hoping the stand alone will fix them and they get ported over some how to the mod. Not looking forward to the standalone since it wont support Private Hives, I also thing instancing is lame and doing that for player structures sucks, they should expand upon it with the existing land, just don't allow building in towns.
