What I don't understand though is how you can go backwards, that is my worry is they're making these changes in an effort to appeal to more people, when really it isn't the step in the right direction. -

Yes but you can still see he can feel the power of the gun, my point is you need to convey the gun is powerful otherwise it just isn't satisfying and atm it feels like a pea shooter in the game. Like I said they need to exaggerate certain things as we cannot feel the gun like you can in real life. -

I agree that Dayz (the Mod) is glitchy and the movement isn't perfect like how you get stuck on door frames and in general moving around in buildings isn't very fun. However I feel like the SA has gone too far the other way, the very fact you can now run and shoot bothers me, it just promotes the whole COD style of gameplay. I like the inventory system the way it is, it just adds to the game because it takes time to loot which is also time you could die. So many times I've killed someone and waited to see if a friend comes, gone to loot them and died like 30 seconds into looting them. If all of a sudden I can walk up to their body, quickly drag everything into my inventory, then that ruins the experience. I feel like in real life it would take time to go through their pockets and their bags and then find space in your own. I dunno I just feel like Dayz is turning into a game based on say the Frostbite engine, rather than one made on the ARMA engine. The fun of Dayz for me is all the little things, if you got rid of these subtle mechanics then it just becomes another bland shooter. I mean the zombies running and jumping........ like why? What does that add other than having to make movement speed faster so you can dodge them? Zombies need to be slower if anything, maybe then the game could cope with not making them look so ridiculous. -

I'm no gun expert but I'm pretty sure it doesn't feel like a pea shooter either and in games to make guns feel powerful you have to exaggerate certain things. -
They've made melee weapons rather useless in this patch, it isn't worth risking infection, head shots only are very very hard with melee weapons because they've always been broken mechanically, they're obviously just hacked in. Fucking no antibiotics anywhere, even if there were is infection a great feature? It's just annoying. Frigging every time you run past a zombie now you get hit from 10ft away........ I wanted a patch but I didn't want a broken mess lol.

Yeh I've always felt like there is no consistency in how zombies spot you, would rather have a mini map and a cone coming from them like MGS.

Zombies spawn inside buildings and stay in there now, it's really annoying. Also where are vehicles? I haven't seen one on a public server in months.

Yeh Zombies need to be slowed down, they need their animations fixed as well. I frigging hate it when I run past one and it hits me from 5ft away...... like wtf? It didn't even animate and even if it does it still its air. The most annoying thing is you'll often just be knocked to the ground, like if it actually hit me I wouldn't feel cheated, however they can hit you from so far away. I saw the same thing in the SA, the zombies just kept hitting him even though they were facing the other way and were like 10ft away. Personally I'd just rather have thousands of slow zombies, would fix all the issues.

It just looks like the went backwards from the mod IMO and they really need an art guy to design a proper UI. I can tell the game wont be releasing any time soon though, if that is how the zombies and animations are going to be, I'd rather stick to the Mod. -

The zombies pathing and animations need to be fixed before making them harder. All the time I run past one and it's like 5ft away and it doesn't animate and suddenly I'm hit or it does the quick animation, hits the air but I'm still hit. They knock you on the floor but they ignore you until you get up....... I don't see the point? I don't get why the loot rates have been dropped, it's impossible to find food and drink now. I also don't get why vehicles still don't exist, I haven't seen one in months on public servers.

The problem is they don't animate properly so you cannot tell when you're going to be hit.

Hmm been on two servers now and cannot find any food or drink what so ever, most places seem really empty and low on loot.... is it broken again? Baseball bats as well have no ammo, cannot even reload them. Also zombies just hit you as you run past them and knock you over, it's really annoying because they don't animate half the time and hit you from like 10ft away.

I never knew how important UI designers are until now lol. My biggest complaint with mods is usually animations and character models, for some reason they're the two things that always get ignored. Dayz has been quite good with that however because the animations in ARMA 2 are really nice and character models with the DLC are really nice. Obviously not with the zombies though, they need a lot of work, even in the Dayz leaked video they look really bad, though obviously they aren't complete. However what I mean is the animations that were working looked really stupid. -
Two sounds I really hate that I wish I could tone down are zombies and flies, they're just so annoying.

Why even bother going to E3? You're just going to show a buggy unfinished game to a load of press who will not care. Your fans are waiting for patches so I don't get why you'd prioritize the press over the fans? -
I went through the private hive phase and I'm back to public...... it's just boring having vehicles everywhere and loads of military loot. That said the stock game needs to up the vehicles just a little bit because I haven't seen one in a month, I swear they're broken and not spawning any more. I also haven't seen ghilie suits or sniper rifles or anything, I dunno what is going on with loot atm but it seems to be not spawning right.

It has been released.... or leaked lol, my mate downloaded it while I was round yesterday and I can safely say (depending on when that build was) it needs more time, the thing runs like crap lol.
