  1. I've launched the game through Lingor using that Youtube tutorial but there is only like a handful of servers and none of them are populated by more than 10 people. Thanx.
  2. I have 970 (six core version) 16gb ram and 670SLI and I get 40FPS......... The engine is poorly optimized, the developers know it and their marketing for Arma 3 constantly reminds us that the new engine runs better than Arma 2.
  3. -mod=@dayz_lingor_island;@dayz_lingor -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -nopause I downloaded 1.4 but it's not letting me join any servers, is this still valid to launch the game via Steam?

    Underground settlements?

It's a bad idea and it'll kill what I love about Dayz, with it being a seamless world with no where to hide. As soon as loading screens are introduced and everyone being in these underground places instead of the actual world then I'm out. Just hopefully other people agree and there will be server versions before this crap gets put in.
  5. I hear the world instance and I panic, is it going to become like EQ2 where you have so many different instances that you barely see players in the world? The world is big enough as it is so why can't we make bases in the actual world? Barbwire is a really bad example because it becomes a griefing mechanic but surely it's not hard to say you cannot build in this area. From every thing Dean is saying with these structures it sounds like the game is going the wrong way to where I want it to go. I for one hate Capital ships in EVE Online, I feel like they ruined 0.0 and I quit the game since it became Capital ships online. The game has so many issues atm why focus on something like this? For one focus your efforts on fixing the zombies, animating them properly and stop them from what looks like they're warping around. Why not add more content into the game world, more tools and have basic building mechanics like putting up wall segments to create little player villages which can be destroyed or you can fight for them. Why increase the game world into instances? It's just a bad idea, now it's open and seamless and it means everyone is out in the world, why not give us content there. Otherwise it just becomes EQ2 where everyone is building in their instance and not spending time in the world. I would just like to see so many things fixed before thinking about this, I mean since the last patch I cannot even play....
  6. I'm laying in a pine tree and see a guy running across the field and shoot him. He goes down and a kill message comes up and I think he's dead naturally. So I crouch run through trees so I have the least open route to his body and all of a sudden a guy in a Ghilie stands up to loot him. I shoot him and he goes down and then get another kill message but he logs out and his body vanishes. Turns out that was my friend, I told him to call out if that was him and he didn't and like a cunt he logged off. So I don't kill many people in this game, I generally tried to steer away from that and just Bear Grylls it. I'm not used to the whole looting dead bodies thing and I see check pulse, I just see strong and all of a sudden he got up and then went prone quickly lol. It ended up me and him shooting each other prone and all that happens is the bullet falls to the ground short every time no matter how high up you aim. It's really weird and annoying and all that happened was another guy ran up and axed us two lol. Turned out my mate didn't die and nor did he, just happened to be two perfectly timed kill messages making me believe I got the kills lol.
  7. It's been down for days now, just wondering if there is a new IP you get the files at? Thanx.
  8. Was so funny though a massive 220 odd KM2 map and I end up shooting my own friend :D
  9. I love Dayz because it's 100% seamless and you all share the same world. As soon as you start instancing people will be taken out of the world and it'll become harder to find people as they stay in there building for ages. It isn't a good idea, instancing has ruined the MMO genre for me and now it looks set to do the same to Dayz. Why can't you just have building in the current world but just ban it from a set area around current towns? It would be so much better if people could built their own forts and fight over them, instead of dumb instancing. It's not like it would be hard to add to the current game world for more space to do this in. If instancing comes to Dayz then it's killed why I like it and I'm out.

    Instanced building will ruin Dayz...

Instancing doesn't fix the problem, it just ruins what the game is about and will ruin my interest in it. I mean before too long we'll be playing on private unofficial old Dayz builds like I do with MMOs such as WoW or SWG because I hate how the developers changed the game. Personally I've never had any problems with server people logging out and then logging back in behind me because I don't camp a hill like a noob, I constantly move. If someone decides to log out to try and save themselves then so be it, I'm not bothered what so ever. If someone wants to server hop to find good loot in the same building, again I don't care. If someone wants to keep killing themselves to find a spawn point near their friends... I don't see what is wrong with that. Like I said I've had no problems with these things, they don't bother me and the only thing that would of players spawning behind me or something... my play style isn't to camp. The only problem I have had is with hackers but that could be easily dealt with by using Steamworks and tying the game to your Steam account. There are far less hackers when there is a risk of getting an account banned, also Steam would make it far easier to trace IPs to ban via IP. However These are tiny inconveniences I hardly ever experience and they're over shadowed by having an amazing seamless wide open game with no rules. Soon as you start making it gamey with instances and adding gamey mechanics then you ruin the raw experience of Dayz. All I wanted him to do was put it on the Arma 3 engine, tidy up the horrible server browse, the poor UI and inventory system. I wanted him to fix the bugs, make the zombies animate and move smoothly and keep adding items and buildings you can enter etc. Don't change how the core game works. In Star Wars Galaxies fighting over seamless player cities where you had to destroy each others bunkers was far more fun because you were fighting over world space in a city or fort you created. As soon as you start putting that in an instance, it becomes worthless, it's not retail and it takes too many people out of the world. Why do people hate player building in the world? I've never come across any problem with sandbags or wire fencing, If people want to use it to block paths off and funnel you through to kill you then so what? That is what it's designed for lol...... However if people want to cry so much just have building outside towns in the wilderness.

  18. I cannot imagine the bolts taking up much room in real life, surely you can just carry them around in a Quiver or something like when using a bow. Even if this is not true having a single bolt take up one item slot is crazy, it makes the crossbow pretty useless and especially when the zombie falls over on the bolt and you cannot get it back. Please let the bolts stack at least because it's my favorite weapon to use but right now the amount of room bolts take up means I have to use a silenced weapon instead. Thanx.

    Player bounties?

Bandits right now have it easy, there is no down side to being one but you instead have all the up sides which means everyone kills on sight now. With player bounties though would mean you'd have to think twice about killing everyone you see, the more murders you have means the more chance you'll have a bounty on you. Just make it something like you have to be killed by that player to put a bounty on them, you cannot just place bounties left, right and center. To do so you'll have to loot posters which let you select a players name and reward of your choice. So this will become an ideal way to get guarantied rare loot and a well deserved way. This instantly makes them a bandit so they know they're being hunted but also you know they have a bounty on them. If you accept the bounty then you see their last seen location on the map to any survivor who see's them, but it doesn't update their position until someone see's them next, so it doesn't auto track. Once you've killed them, you loot their head and take it back to a poster to which every poster for that person is removed for the person who placed the bounty in the first place. Just have the down side for placing a bounty is you need to place posters manually around the world and when carrying them you cannot carry anything else in your back pack. I'd really love a system like this so we can take it to the bandits!
  20. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does it's like what you see when a cards over heating or something. I know it's not my PC and it used to happen with barb wire but it seems like it is back again and the only thing that fixes it is changing the in game video memory setting from default to normal and back again. Please fix it as it always seems to happen just before I see players, thanx.

    Make Barbed Wire Permanently Vaultable

It doesn't bother me, I think people should be able to build their own forts, it would be really fun. Only thing I hate is how it doesn't impact on zombies and you cannot get through it. In real life you can go through barb wire, you'll just be cut up badly so I think having a bleed would be enough of a disadvantage and a deterrent to stop people from going through willy nilly.

Please, DONT add a bandit-indicator in this patch

I want to be able to tell who is a bandit or not so this game can become more social rather than shooting on site. In real life you have a conscience that stops you from flat out killing other people, however this is only a game so it doesn't apply. So Dayz needs a mechanic to do this for us so we can actually make friends in the game rather than having to shoot on site because we cannot tell of their intentions.
  23. Just make it so your body doesn't despawn for 30 seconds and neither do zombies. Sorted.
  24. In real life what stops you is because you have a conscience but that doesn't exist in a game as it is only as a game. So there needs to be a mechanic in game that puts a down side to just killing every player you see. One where bandits can carry on killing but it alienates them from a society being rebuilt. The problem with the whole names not popping up thing is you don't know who killed you, people don't get a reputation for killing other players. So they'll just continue without a care and other players cannot tell if they're out to get them. In the end the good players suffer because we cannot take a risk on making friends so we have to shoot on site and it's developed this really bad community within Dayz where it's all gank. There really needs to be mechanics put in place where we can judge other players on sight and know we're safe to not shoot them. I would like this to be a social game but right now it isn't and it retracts from the fun.
  25. I want the ability to launch the beta through the standard Steam way so it counts up hours and so I can chat to friends easily. Currently I'm using a shortcut on my start bar but want to launch via Steam. Thanx.
