Oh, I'm sorry. The time and effort I put into the vehicles I find isn't enough for you? I'll be sure to make a heartfelt apology in this very topic every time my group finds parts, fixes up the vehicles we find, and take them back to our camp. (Which isn't even off the map, so don't even try pulling that bullshit.) If you want a damn vehicle, get off your ass and find it. Sure, there are the fuckers who park a mile off the map, but then there's people like my group who don't. -

If loneliness is an issue, and people complain about it on the forums, they have way to remedy the problem. Met the group I play with in an LFG thread on the forums. Don't see why that's too much of a hassle for people if they don't want to be shot at. Being in a group is always a detractor for assault in my opinion. We've never been shot at once, even on 40+ man servers. Granted, there are six of us, but even getting a partner or two can really increase your enjoyment tenfold. -

Please, oh intelligent sir, tell me what what games the engine runs on have the use of melee weapons in frequency. Please, oh please, name one. (And I'll give you a hint: The engine was built for ARMA II. So if ARMA II isn't built for melee...)

As long as they're player created, player controlled, player maintained, guns can still be used, and they could still be raided, I'm cool with this idea.

What part of 'the engine wasn't built for melee' don't you understand? It's all fine and dandy if DayZ was based off of Madden 2012. But there aren't any football mechanics in ARMA II. So it won't work until it's ironed out.

Ain't got any problem, as long as we're notified that these things are going to happen before they happen. Testing doesn't have to happen on the fly. For as much as 'throw it at the wall' ideas come around, I'm sure there are just as many 'let me plan this down to a T to break the game' ideas. -

I'd like to see some form of maintenance, but for the server to keep track of that much data, I'm not sure it's worth it. You figure, it'd have to keep track of every single weapon on the map, as well as the 'decay' it's endured. The in-inventory weapons could be system-tracked, but the servers would have to handle everything else. (Again, not sure how much work that would put on the servers. But if it would hamper them severely, it's a 'no' for me.)

Yes sir, you can update. As long as you're on-patch or newer, you can play. (For example, if your server is on 94209 and you're on 94700, you'll be fine.) -
Respawns under 5 minutes aren't part of the statistics. I really don't mind, but if you do get a shit spawn, it does suck. I've had plenty of lives where I traveled from Kamenka to Cherno and found nothing but cans. It's pretty much just a waste of time for the player. And for as tedious and time-sink-y this game already is, it's not worth the uproar it'll cause.

Fix the melee mechanics, then we'll talk. As of now, the engine isn't really even supposed to work with them.
