    2 birds with 1 stone

Yeah, this won't work. Unless we're gonna start putting up posters for the Macaroni-knights again.
  2. I guess we could, couldn't we?
  3. So... you weren't being sarcastic then? Oh. My bad. I thought you were just joking with the whole 'yeah, cause no friendlies are gonna see this!' which I can say is false. We've got a whole sub-forum that's devoted to (what I would qualify as) the friendlies. If this topic had been posted there, I'm pretty sure it would've been picked up by more survivors and spread. Maybe not as quick as things spread back in the day, but it'd spread. Slowly.
  4. Jesus. Butthurt? Pretty sure you're the one who threw out the first insult. I'm just asking for you to provide a case of the "gaping holes in his/her own ideas". Glad to know that's too much to ask from you. And what the hell are you talking about 'following people around the forums? I frequent a lot of topics, and so does Zed. Are we not allowed to chat or something? Especially when I agree with him on many topics? Or are you talking about me running into you? Because again, I frequent a lot of topics. I'm sorry that I've wronged you oh so much by bumping into you. And thanks. I couldn't give a shit if I'm on an ignore list. Doesn't hurt my feelings at all. Anyways, on the topic... what's the topic? We've pretty much solidified that zombies are back to being beast. Maybe a little too beast, but we'll leave that to the 100's of whine threads that are being made by the hour to debate. I still prefer the PvP experience over the PvE experience, mainly because the latter tends to just drag itself out. Once you kill a player, that player dies. When you kill a zed, though, another takes its spawn point, then comes running right at you most of the time, because you're too busy dealing with the other zeds you've aggro'd.
  5. I think the meaning of that post went right over your head.
  6. Been wanting to use this tactic for a while. Too bad nobody would know the code I use. Unless you were a WWII history buff, that is.
  7. And? You think we're still gonna open up on a group of six or so survivors, especially if we're going lone wolf? That's fucking suicide. At least getting groups together will give spawnees a better chance of survival. Better than they've got now, at least.
  8. To clarify to anybody in this thread who's been easily persuaded by people like LumberBack, not all of us just kill randoms. If I can see you don't have a weapon, I'm not gonna open up on you. But if you even have a Makarov, it only takes one bullet to put me out of commission. So if you don't want me to kill you, just carry your flashlight. I can't vouch for anybody in game, but if you'd like to be indefinitely safer against one guy, versus potentially safer against nobody, that's your option. Or, you could just gang up with an LFG on the Survivor's HQ. I can't speak for my group, but if there are more than three or four of you, I'm not going to just open fire. That's just too much crossfire for my liking personally. There are tons of ways to improve your likelihood of living in this game. You just gotta think outside the box to figure them out.

    I was a bird?

I don't think anybody's really had any serious repercussions after this has happened to them. You should be fine. It happens to some people, doesn't to others. If you have a legit copy, you'll be fine. Hell, if it's on Steam, it's pretty much impossible to say you didn't buy the game.

    DayZ Problems

Or, you could've moved from your position after it was compromised. Granted, the server-hopping is a problem, but if he knows where you are, he will go there and kill you if he can. Don't sit around once you've been exposed.
  11. Look, any and all respect for your ideas went out the window when you pretty much suggested spontaneous bleeding when you kill someone who isn't labeled a bandit, even if it was in self defense. But no, we need ways to penalize bandits. Because there's no other way to solve this "bandit epidemic" we have. Nothing at all we can do in game to break the shoot-on-sight mentality like, say, introducing cooperation mechanics that would incentivize people to work together instead of causing a bloodbath. Nope, nothing at all that I can think of.

    Telepathic groups of survivors

Step 1: Set up mic for DayZ. Step 2: Set up mic for TeamSpeak. Step 3: Mute mic from [step 1] Step 4: Don't mute mic from [step 2] Step 5: ??? Step 6: Profit!
  13. And I really am appalled with these guys that feel like my way of playing is the wrong way. I suppose we're at an impasse here. Agree to disagree and never speak of it again?

    Is streamsniping considered cheating?

Man, you must not get on the internet much. It's pretty much a series of tubes, filled with lulz. Some people actually come on here to fuck with people anonymously, because they've got free time. Schadenfreude is a wonderful thing.
  15. Yes. He hopes to have something out by September. The article never once makes mention as to what he referred to as that 'something'. That could be the beta testing period he wants out, that could be the next big patch. Hell, it could be an early preview of DayZ in the ARMA III engine for all we know. Unless I'm mistaken. Then again, this I rocket. For all I know, he's already readied the Real Virtuality 3 license, and he's half way done with coding a stand-alone version of DayZ. We have no clue what's coming. Nowhere in that article is rocket precisely quoted saying that DayZ is going standalone in September. All that's mentioned is possible pricing points, and for all we know, he could be planning to partner with BIS to release DayZ as ARMA II/ARMA III DLC. Of course, I could be entirely wrong in all this. Why they couldn't include the quotation regarding the standalone release, though, is beyond me.

    Question about prone.

I'm... not quite sure what you're talking about. I'm talking about going prone. Not pulling up the weapon.
  17. Shut up and go catch another bullet between your eyes. I care very much about the game and have argued points that at least make both parties happy multiple times. So quit putting words in my mouth and stop trying to hinder my gaming experience because you don't want me to shoot you without accruing penalties for my 'heinous crimes'.
  18. Ah. Deceiving titles strike again. Stupid fucking journalists. You're only going to keep pissing off people when they actually read your articles and see your titles are blatant lies.
  19. Good. Let the hate consume you. Soon, you will be one of us. You might fight it at first, but you'll soon be reminded of that asshole every time you go to help a survivor. How he betrayed you. How he belittled you. How you softly pulled that trigger, with those iron sights lined right up with his skull cap. How the Enfield round slowly passed through his skull, and exited the other side, a useless hunk. And that soft thud he made as he collapsed, dead, on the ground. You'll remember that for the rest of your life. And you'll want to feel it again.

    Question about prone.

I always assumed it had something to do with movement when you go to prone. To be safe, just crouch, then prone from now on. I don't think you get the dive if you're crouch running.
  21. Like most people in this topic said, more bullets to shoot survivors with. Hell, it's not like I actually shoot my guns anyways. Can't remember the last time I even shot a zombie. I've gotten well enough to just crawl around them. (Granted, this was in 1.7.1.5. Doubt crawling works as well in 1.7.2.) I already save those 120 STANAG rounds for living, breathing, shooting targets. Never know when you're gonna hit a dry rut and need the ammo.

Don't move DayZ to Arma 3

£50 can be a bank breaker for some people. And trust me, it ain't starting at £30. Not sure what ARMA II's opening price was, but I'm pretty sure it was a AAA release, with a AAA price tag at the time. I know OFP: Dragon Rising was $60 on release, so I don't see why ARMA III won't be any different.

    Is streamsniping considered cheating?

If Blizzard thinks it's fine, then I don't see why it wouldn't be fine for DayZ. You're the one broadcasting your gamescreen freely (or hosting a password-less TS) and it's your job to moderate who can and can't interact with it.
  24. KWilt

    WTF is this!!!

Bah... I thought we were moving away from DayZ: The Premiere Crawling Simulator... There's no reason to make a tedious game any more tedious that it already was. I can understand making the zombies more ferocious for the high-tier players is a must (well, no I don't, but that's a whole 'nother topic) but when you've gotta crawl from the beach all the way to a house, then stand up and aggro anything that remotely glances at you, it's pretty annoying. But hey. It's rocket's mod. We'll adapt... I guess.

Don't move DayZ to Arma 3

Not really. To my knowledge, rocket hasn't made a nickel directly from the sales of ARMA II. So, as of right now, he's doing this all as a freebie. And technically, you didn't have to alpha and beta the project. You put that money in on your own. You could've waited for the final release.
