To be honest, if you don't farm, you're never going to see any of the rare equipment in the game. Hell, I used to ride with a group who loot piled (as we call it) the barracks at NW for about three days straight. They never once saw NVGs. So if you're against farming, then really, there's nothing to do in this game. Unless you're hella lucky, you're not going to find anything worthwhile. Though it might be a little cheesy, I would say it definitely takes skill to hold down something like a barracks or a grocery store or any other lootable place. They're high-traffic areas, and anybody could roll up on you. If you can successfully defend, you're definitely doing something right.

I believe there actually are some units out there that can keep track of other units. Essentially, it's pretty much the same as intercepting signals, but because you need a certain key to read the encryption for each unit, you can't just pick up random signals. I'd be all for this. Would be a helluva lot easier to keep track of each other, especially when we're walking around at night. I'm not quite sure what you'd be learning. Seriously. All I can think you're saying here is that you don't want to be able to track your companions on the map/GPS. Nothing to learn from that.

I do hope you realize that with a 2km radius' date=' the griefing would be outrageous. As an example, someone standing at the Cherno hospital can block the D/C of everyone from Balota, up to the southern part of Nadezhdino, and out to just the edge of Prigorodki. That just screams 'grief-potential' for people who want to simply inconvenience players for the 'lulz'. Ah, but you are wrong here. It does punish bandits more than any other survivors. Bandits are far more likely to use this system, as they are the people actively attempting to kill players who can D/C. And those 15 seconds eventually add up, so eventually, it does outweigh the costs. Also, the current system favors neither survivors nor bandits. In the same way that a survivor can D/C to get away from a bandit, a bandit can D/C to not be found by a persistent survivor, out for revenge. It is just much more likely that a survivor will D/C, yes, but that is only because a survivor won't be the one firing the first shot.

If we do wipe, I'd like to see leaderboards wiped as well. (Which I'm sure they would be. But just in case...) I'd probably be pretty pissed, to be honest, but I'd have the choice of either playing and getting all my stuff back again, or I can leave. And since I actually enjoy DayZ, it'd probably be the former over the latter. Either way, I'm not exactly in support of this, but you won't hear me bitching about it. I'll leave it up to the rest of the community to complain when the hackers get all the good loot from the start while the rest of us are still 'growing up' again.

I don't even give a fuck if I'm late. I'm gonna say it right now. I cast Magic Missile! In all seriousness, though, I'd love to see some fighter jets. Maybe paratroopers dropped from passing planes. Wait! It gets better! The paratroopers? They're clowns. Now, who's realistically looking for a clown in the zombie apocalypse? I know I wouldn't be. So these clowns can carry ultra rare loot. But like I said, they'd be hard to find, because you're not looking for clowns. You're looking for downed choppers and-- Fuck. Okay. I just can't. That's just... fuck me. -
This is a viable option, though I don't think you realize how big of a radius 2km is, so the numbers could use some tweaking. However, I see no reason why someone should be legitimately punished for keeping a player in game. You outline how it is unfair to bandits trying to get their rightful kills, but give no incentive to actually follow through with this idea. To be honest, I'd rather give up loot and murders for potentially having to wait 5 minutes just to log out of DayZ. EDIT: Also, a thought comes to mind. How do you know that the person you're stalling is the same person you're shooting at? I can definitely see a lot of confusion sprouting from it.

With this system, you're pretty much forced out of groups. Can't D/C if you're in a group, because your allies would be too close. Also, it's been mentioned before in this thread, but if you enter a high density area, you're pretty much screwed if you have to leave ASAP. Hell, by your numbers, you're not really safe anywhere. 1km is a pretty far distance, and it's not hard to get within that distance to someone and not even know it. -

Good luck with this idea. Because in the end, if you do get that partner, there's no realistic reason why you shouldn't shoot him and take all the supplies that you no longer have to share. Shit being scarce is an even bigger reason to indulge PvP. That guy 100m off to your north could have two cans of beans that you could eat, rather than a can of beans each for the both of you. And this idea of having more multi-person activities is nice, but as was said above, forcing cooperation isn't going to work very well. I've been shot in the back one too many times after having helped someone out, and given the chance, I'd probably do the same to someone if I felt they could threaten my life. I have yet to find a single possible way to communicate with someone out in the open when even one of the parties has a gun. You're just 95% safer in shooting on site than trusting people. -

I'd like a toggle-able scope. I've thrown away a few ANPV S4s in my time because they're entirely worthless to me in the day. And since I didn't start playing night servers until very recently, it was pretty much just an FAL I couldn't shoot. The ammo idea, though, I'm not too sure. It's a nice thought, but with as common as DMR mags are, I think the FAL might get a little OP. Then we'd have to nerf DMR mag spawns, and blahblahblah, in the end, it might not be that good of an idea.

Yes, I did. You want to turn people who stick to the hills with Enfields into giant trolls for whatever reason, and you want to make the ghillie suit the only piece of clothing with a negative effect. If those aren't your suggestions, and I have to weed through the topic to find your 'real' suggestions, it's not my job. Update the OP. -
I don't exactly understand what you're looking for here. Adding more loot piles in the towns won't add more reason to explore. Unless you just mean 'more of a reason to go into towns', because there's a helluva lot more to this map than towns to explore.

I'm with weedmasta on this one. If NVGs are removed, then the game will pretty much become a game of 'sit here and wait for somebody stupid enough to use a light source to walk by'. The only safe way to travel would be via chemlight, as the range of visibility is only about 50m. But then you only get 5m of view distance, and by the time you see anything within those 5 meters, you're probably already aggro'd, being shot at, or dead.
