Yes, because 100% of the current user base things that it's fair to start with M1911, blood packs, and being able to teleport.

I think people are missing the point of this thread. The Yogscast incorrectly portrayed how DayZ plays. As such, it's going to bring possibly thousands of complainers, saying the game is broken, even though this is how the game is meant to be played. I have no quarrels with a larger fan base. But when that fan base likes to think they run the internet, it's a problem.

During the day, I might leave one burning here or there. Especially if I'm not too worried about my position. But at night, they're on, meat is cooked/I'm warmed, and then they're off. Can't risk even a hint of a tracking. Either way, though, they go out over time, so I'm never too worried that someone would be able to track me for miles.

Sure there is. Run around singing 'DIGGY DIGGY HOLE'. If someone responds and sings along, kill them. Though, I don't really advise killing them. There are some nice members in the community. We'll eventually weed out those who won't take the effort to play.

Bumping this back up to see if we can't get more requests.

Here's a tip: Lots of charity in Cherno. People love to give out free stuff there. Like bullets and stuff. -

Posting again for an 8 hour bump this time. Would like feedback. -
Heh' date=' funny. Older members of the forum felt the same way when IGN, Roosterteeth, and other news organizations started publishing articles that catered to the console/COD/FPS crowd. Other than an increase of bitchery from new players who "don't like being killed", or who think "this is too hard", not much else has changed here, or on the servers. [/quote'] At the very least, Burnie (of Roosterteeth) had the decency to showcase the mod on an actual server, with realistic gameplay footage. Not on a private server, with a server admin giving them items, and covering them with sniper fire, when they're still wet from the ocean.

Not going to deal with reading 12 other pages. I can probably ad lib it and be half right. All I know is that I've dealt with the Yogscast in the past. This can be either a good or a bad thing. With how much of a casual audience this will draw, though, I predict the latter. And no, I'm not trying to draw hate on Yognaughts. I used to be one of you. But I remember the Technic Pack. I remember how rudely their community dealt with the complaint from the mod creators. I also remember the cries and screams for every mod in existence to be added to their packs. I just honestly hope that the Yognaught community realizes those types of things won't fly here. That all said, I do hope that this does evolve the community more than it harms it, and I wish everybody good luck. You'll need it in the harsh world that is DayZ.

Well, to be honest, that's not necessarily true. When I'm yelling into my mic, "HEY, THAT'S ME" and they aren't paying attention, I don't think I'm the one at fault there. Unless I'm now accounted for making sure all their settings on TeamSpeak are perfect to hear what is 95% rambling and shooting the shit as we walk through Chernarus, and 5% tactical response and confirmation. Unless, of course, you take it in the form that it's my fault for being in a group. Then, I'm playing lone wolf. But then, I don't have anybody to watch all of my quarters while moving. So then I can die that way. And it's my fault for being alone. All it all, I might be looking too deep into it, but it seems like no matter what you do, you're always in the wrong.

Nah. You don't have to be incompetent to die. It's one of the leading causes of deaths, though but you can be just unlucky. If you can see someone through your scope, they can see you just as well. It just matters who sees who first.

Nukes. I want nukes. (No, I don't. But this could be fairly interesting. They could become small 'homes' for survivors, I suppose, if not for the loot.)

No patch this week (and next week prolly)
KWilt replied to species5021's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, I'd second that update to the announcement topic. I've stopped looking there, because it hasn't been touched in over a week. -
Unless we get flags/effects for murder, this game will just be Deathmatch.

You must not've played too many shooters a decade ago. -

Bumping this one back up. Not my usual 12+ hour bump, but I'll be on the road most of today. -
I'm in a bit of a sticky situation, help?

Get to walking. Sorry. As far as I know, that's the only way outta the debug plains. -

It's a decade old franchise that was highly coveted for its realism when it first launched, as well as the complex mods that caused it to continue to thrive, even into its older years. But that's a non-issue. -
Y'know, this topic really sparks a big debate: When does combat actually start? Is it when a round is fired? Is it when someone has their sights on you? Is it when someone's in your area? As far as I can tell, OP was in all his right to disconnect if combat starts when a round is fired. From what I've read, he killed his assailants, then D/C'd before he was shot at again. Were there guns trailed on him? Well, I nor he can answer that. We'd just have to ask those who were there, if there were any there. Were there people in the area? Well, according to the OP, he thought there were people there. If thought can initiate combat, then I suppose I haven't left combat since I became a bandit. Unless those who were there come forward, we'll never know the truth. It could've just been those two guys, it could've been a whole fucking armada. As it stands, though, OP did not disconnect during combat, according to all evidence collected.

I don't even know what the fuck is going on in this thread anymore. But I'm now listening to Rehab again, and I don't even know how the fuck that happened.
-
Seems legit. Oh wait, it totally is! Karma's a bitch, it seems. Good work on that clean-up. Fuckers like that are assholes.

"What's the plan?" *BANG* "Well, I just got shot." Well, funny to see that. Unfortunate, but funny.
