Found an AK101 in a deer stand on EXP 0.55 today. It was a nice flashback to the mod since the first gun I found in the mod was an AK74 Kobra in a deerstand. It's a shame the rest of the loot spawning is buggered to hell..

Seriously? The loot is all fucked up. Many areas and entire buildings do not spawn loot at all, while you can find things like high capacity vests in civilian houses. Another problem is that tents disappear as soon as you plop them down, I'm gonna be very displeased if that happens on stable when i redeploy my military tent.

The new zombies are awful. They appear to have gained telekinetic powers, being able to hit you with invisible forces several meters ahead of their arms. I am hoping this is a bug, but part of me is fearing that this is your idea of a 'solution' to players circle-strafing them. Single zombies *should* be easy to kill. Hordes of zombies should be dangerous.

And for christ's sake, fix your aspect ratio. This is the best kit I have ever had in this game:

Functioning persistence.

I'm curious to see how this will work.

Eating and drinking system - Please, just give it up.

What kind of a giant manbaby are you if you think the current system is too hard? Even in the mod food was more of a focus. -
This is why playing with others is a lot better than lone wolfing

I try playing with my friends, but listening to them whine about bugs, whine about walking for so long and whining about how we should go to Berezino because they're too impatient for anything else.. kinda makes me give up. -
Unfortunately the loot mechanic still works the same - the entire server is a complete bonanza after server restart, and after restart a tiny trickle of respawning loot might appear if you're lucky, but for the most part not because people cherry-pick. Mechanic needs a lot of work for it to work like in the mod.

I think you would have a lot better time if you played a medic the way a real person would actually act - carefully. The way the RRF does. Being a naive dogooder who runs into people's faces in the apocalypse is only gonna go down one road, and I don't imagine it's any fun.

I would love to be able to do this, not to disarm survivors but to disable guns I find that I have no use for. Take out the bolt, throw it into the woods.

Which are the official servers? The ones with official-sounding, local names? Like NL 1-111 etc, and so forth? From what I have seen, those are all hosted by third parties as well. I've never seen one that says it is hosted by Bohemia.

It's the Berezino cancer, along with the duping cancer. Most people in Berezino are newbies, or hackers and dupers trying to kill them. The rest are people who have given up on the rest of the map and go to Berezino to see other players.

No, I mean, you hit him! Or you should have, but the game decided 'nope'.

This is the worst thing about this game. We see your guy aiming the SKS straight at the idiot with the Mosin and just unloading into him, but he isn't even hit once.

It took me half a year to realize that the coolest hat in the game has been in the game since release;

Concur. My very favorite thing is when the two are combined. One part scavenged high-end shit, and two parts improvised junk. I love the contrast that occurs when things like that are done. I would enjoy something like having a really nice military vest, but the clothing being home-sewn from animal pelts.

The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
wartzilla replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
Revolvers are more popular than you might think in Europe. Some countries have specific competition classes for wheelguns, which means there's more than a few of them. Granted, not as wide-spread as they are in the game, but details schmetails. I'll grant you the longhorn, because pistol hunting is banned in many countries, but I'm sure it's allowed in several European countries and would definitely be possible to find in those. I don't know about the Czech Republic but it's got one of the best gun law regimes in Europe. As for the Blaze, double rifles are some of the most popular hunting weapons on the continent, along with combination guns. You can't use that as an example, in an apocalypse they would be everywhere. The Striker is an extreme niche firearm which was never adopted anywhere and has only ever been a civilian weapon in America (before it was banned there too). It's an extremely unlikely firearm to find, and seeing it in-game would be jarring. Like suddenly finding a pilotable Apollo moon lander or some shit. -
Never mind all that, what's the new boomsticks like
wartzilla replied to theirongiant's topic in General Discussion
The shotgun is back to its good old ways, so don't fret. I've managed to find two shotguns thus far, but never a hacksaw at the same time, so I'm unfortunately not carrying one yet. Hopefully next time I play I'll be able to find a shotgun now that I have a hacksaw. It's hardly the most useful weapon in the game, but it's damn cool. -
What exactly changed about the melee combat in .47 stable?
wartzilla replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I'm pretty sure it's just the hitbox of the zombies being laggy and out of place, most likely due to the ragdoll system since this is the only thing that has changed. I've found that if you hit them head-on they're as easy to hit as before, but if you let them run past you and try to circle-strafe them, it's a complete crapshoot. To me that indicates hitbox fuckery. -
Uh, no, this would ruin the game.
-
No. Why would you want to regress? Even the mod has implemented blood types now.
-
Any chance you could post all the datamining stuff?
-
According to Peter Nespesny this patch includes the first weapon balance pass, so feedback on weapons is critical at this point.

Anyone like the idea of a more complicated reloading system?
wartzilla replied to MONKAYPOO0's topic in General Discussion
The frantic, panicky gameplay that comes from trying to kill zombies when you don't have a magazine for your gun but only loose ammo is actually what inspired me to write that post to begin with. It makes the game harder in a way that makes sense. You'd have done just fine if you realized how reloading without a magazine worked to begin with!
