So? Underdeveloped countries that don't recognize free speech will keep banning controversial media. Meanwhile, the controversy will generate a lot of guerrilla marketing for the game and probably sell more copies. Just like it did for GTA back in the 90s.

Make loot respawn little by little like in the mod instead of spewing tons of it out after server restart and then leaving it barren.

The FNX45 is damn near useless. No accuracy, no range. It feels like throwing rocks.

I caught myself with my hand on the escape button today, but realized I wanted to try to fight it out rather than quit like an idiot. Was a good move too, 3 dudes with Mosins sneaking up on me and I killed every single one by myself. That ain't happened before..

I've had really good luck with Vilayer servers, I've never been reset or otherwise fucked over by them. I've gone so far as to filter my server list using that word. Oddly enough they're in your signature.. you work there?

I think it's great. I always found it nonsensical that unarmed players were incapable of doing anything in the mod. -
I agree with you. Survival should be hard. But it should be sensible game mechanics like loot being rare, but actually available, making it hard. Not the current flawed loot system where it's gone just because the locust swarm has already picked the server clean. Loot amount needs to be lowered drastically, *and* made to respawn like in the mod. Not either/or.

As a primary rifle-size weapon, it's probably not going to be used by anyone for longer than needed. However, as a sawn-off shotgun, it can be an excellent close-up side arm. I envision people picking up the shotgun as a primary weapon when they're freshly spawned, and later sawing off the barrel and stock once they find something more appropriate for their rifle slot.

Mosin or M4? Consider upcoming changes to game

The M4 would be better for living off the land because it's quieter and you can carry more ammo for it. The Mosin is the superior player killing weapon, despite this whole idea that bandits only carry M4s and 'friendlies' only carry Mosins. As the game changes and weapons are added, I don't want either weapon. I miss the AK variants and the M14/FAL. Once those things are added I'll drop the M4 in the forest and never look back. -
Sure, and sometimes you find nothing even in houses that haven't been looted. The feeling I get when I don't find anything in a house where there could have been loot is completely different to the one I get when all I find are houses that have been looted dry. To put it this way.. the former is preferable. And if every house respawned loot, you never know if it's bone dry or a treasure trove. Whereas if the doors were randomized now, you'd look through a bunch of houses and realize after too long everything is gone, not because the game made it hard for you, but because someone hoovered it all up already and the loot respawn system doesn't work/exist.

I support this, but only once the loot respawning has been implemented. Today, seeing an open door means going into that building for loot is pointless. Having to check every house on a server that has already been looted would be extremely boring and frustrating with the way the loot system works in its current, amputated state.

Turning on a weapon flashlight should not be an action that requires you to open the inventory, find the light, right-click on it for a drop down menu, and then click 'turn on'. It should be a mappable key/mouse button, and it should be possible to set as a toggle or momentary switch. In reality, the light is operated by the thumb very easily and very fast, allowing for momentary bursts of light. This is the only purpose of a weapon light. The way it is currently implemented, you have the option to turn yourself into a beacon for other people to fire at, and not much else. The bipod should similarly be able to have a key mapped to deploy it. That, or make it deploy by itself when you go prone, since that's the only time it is useful. DayZ is not Microsoft Excel.

Sure. I just wanted to post this now since there is a 'suggestions' forum. Not much point in having one if every suggestion is going to be 'don't do any changes to the game, just optimize and fix bugs'.

Used to be the other way around.. the happy-go-lucky people would hang on the coast with Lee Enfields and shotguns, while bloodthirsty people traveled north immediately and looted Stary and the NWAF.. then camped either one of them or hunted other groups. I blame the very unfortunate Balota loot. They should take that entire airfield and move it elsewhere, then turn Balota into a civilian airport with moderate but desirable civilian loot. -
Bipod attaches to handguard but not light? (Please change this)

I agree that the dedicated weapon light should only fit the RIS, but it should be possible to 'craft' a weapon light by using the light you spawn with and a roll of duct tape. -
I'm really disappointed this hasn't been fixed, but at the same time loot is so commonplace there isn't any use in duping either. They better fix it before the game reaches beta status.

No, those servers should not exist, and it's up to the dev team to make sure it doesn't happen.

Not much else to say except I agree completely. Don't split the community. Approach mods and private servers like MMOs do. (ie 'not even once').

The first few times really pissed me off, made me have to go take a break. Now I no longer care much. It's mostly because loot is way too easy to come by. Hopefully gearing up will become as hard as in the mod eventually (and duping will be fixed).

Unnecessary, people die all the time. Maybe it's just because my playstyle has changed, but I've died twenty times more than I ever did in the mod, already. On the other hand I wouldn't mind it because, hey, I die all the time anyway! -
Because inland there are literally no people. The best thing is to run across other geared people, but I'm not going to pretend I didn't see you because you're not geared.
