There's no reason to go to the NWAF or the north anymore (here's why)

I agree, the mod had a kind of progression and territorial logic to it. It's gone completely from the standalone, aided by the removal of Berezino and Stary tents.. The NWAF is the only attraction in the north, and now there's no reason to even go there. In the mod, it was a severely dangerous place, but with good loot. The helicopter crashes did kinda dilute it, but still.. it was possible, and likely, to encounter people from the coast up north to the NWAF. Even between Stary and Berezino. Now no one even talks about Stary any more.. there's no longer the 'powerline corridor' where hapless survivors without navigation skills wander. -
In terms of clothes, maybe more variations of t-shirts and jeans, and the ability to keep wearing t-shirts under other clothes just for the sake of variety. I don't think we should be able to pick all sorts of jackets, sunglasses and hats and stuff, I'd rather those were things we find, still. Character customization outside of items, absolutely, that needs to happen.

Unlike in games like Dota 2 where co-op is forced on you, I'd actually be greatly entertained if I met Brazilians or Russians in DayZ.

The dev team decided that ridiculous amounts of dispersion and faulty copy/pasted Arma 2 ballistics were not bad enough, so they made the Mosin use the incorrect ammo type. It's like they think Rust has a higher PCU because of its lack of authenticity or something. Very bizarre.

I can't believe I'm giving beans to a guy unironically using pony image macros to make his points, but that does say a lot about the posts of the people trying to claim the current faulty ballistics are a-okay.

No, I don't like this. At best, add them but make the weapons nonfunctional. That way they are just gimmick vehicles with slightly better armor and atrocious fuel consumption.

You realize it does this, right? It takes up 10 slots, though, so I don't imagine many players will actually carry it. I was planning on it, but not when it takes up 10 slots..

Nothing has made me stop playing, but I'm most looking forward to loot spawn fixes, zombie fixes (noclip, movement, eyesight, amount of), weapon mechanics authenticity fixes, hunting/cooking/fireplaces, and a more involved medical system.

Uh, that's not at all what he's talking about, but okay. He's talking about saving your old character by giving it the new name. That other guide is for changing the name post-launch ingame. -
Different characters for Hardcore/Regular servers??

Well, to be fair, a Mosin can fire 7.62x51.. but I don't think that's the reason it does so in DayZ. It's disappointing that the game is so authentic in some ways and then falls on its face in others.

So what are they doing with the '7.62' ammo? Game needs separate 7.62x54R, 7.62x39 and 7.62x51 (.308) ammo types. If the SKS and Mosin end up using the same ammo I'll get a mental itch I can never scratch.

A sawn-off shotgun wouldn't have much more 'spread'. It would just have a lower muzzle velocity, so the effective range would be shorter.

No. Permadeath is DayZ.

I play third-person because it is such a gigantic advantage and I am a risk-averse idiot. I'd honestly prefer it if third person was removed, but I'd enjoy it if movement, animation and character actions were made about a thousand times more fluid before that happens.

Getting stuck in animation cycles whenever there's a bunch of people in one place. Any time 3-4 players or more converge in the same location and try to do things, some or all of them get stuck in loops trying to do things like putting things in your hand, readying weapons, all that stuff. Extremely annoying.
