Exactly, quick action, and how are you supposed to have quick action without quick loot? If you want quick action, play a different game. DayZ is good because of its tempo changes. It goes from being a slow and deliberate game to being explosive in seconds. That's what gives the DayZ rush. Not going to some ubiquitous location close to spawns where you already know everyone else on the server is. Then you might as well play Battlefield.

Glove suggestion: Nomex flight gloves. Ubiquitous in the American military and used by everyone, not just pilots. It might as well be a helicopter crash spawn, though, since we're apparently going the road of Western gear being helicopter stuff and Russian gear being the standard stuff. An ultra-rare gimmick item. -
My thoughts? This post is everything wrong with today's DayZ. The point of the huge map is to move around on it, not for the devs to move spawns close to military spawns so you can have some sort of ez-mode DayZ with an effective world area the size of a Battlefield map.

You can't call them crawlers, eventually there will be actual crawling zombies and then you'll look pretty dumb. I'm calling them hoppers regardless of the amount of actual hopping compared to the mod. -
Both rifles and melee weapons should require slings to be slung on the back.

Belts with holsters, pouches, knife sheats etc should absolutely be a thing. They will probably refuse to do it, though, because it would clip. Sigh.

Since he didn't kill you and he was too lagged out to get his gun out, he was probably just desynced. People move in glitchy, annoying ways when they are desynced.

The problem is the new generation of players that want instant gratification and don't feel like walking inland. They really only want a tiny map the size of a Battlefield map. Berezino or NEAF is perfect for them and they never leave. Balota and Elektro were the same before they changed the spawns. Many of the rest of the players that want to stay inland eventually give up and go to these meat grinder places because you literally never see anyone elsewhere, so it's an endless loop of terribleness. I've been guilty of going to both the NEAF, Berezino and Elektro myself despite disliking Berezino and NEAF to the extreme. Look at this reddit post as a textbook example of why the map isn't populated the way it was in the mod: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/29u6wn/questions_about_046_spawn_points_military_loot/ Helicopter crashes will help now that they have some interesting loot (grenades), maybe down the line they will have good weapons as well. Not much point seeking them out now since no one wants an M4 any more. In the good old days, there was more to the inland part of the map than the NWAF.. People would do the 'triangle' of NWAF, Stary Sobor and Vybor, much like the triangle of NEAF, Svetloyarsk and Berezino. There's no point in going to Stary any more since they removed the tents. Personally I literally never went to the NWAF in the mod, and I rarely go there in the standalone, because I prefer areas with hills, valleys and rocks, not flat areas, but thanks to the multitudes of interesting places the entire middle of the map saw lots of activity regardless. I'm hopeful the next town or area they add is in the northwest rather than the northeast.

Really? Before they removed it everyone I saw, ever, had the ballistic helmet/gas mask combo. Literally everyone. It got to the point where my group would deliberately throw away our helmets and masks so we could easily tell ourselves from everyone else in the game. -
In addition, if someone has heavy desync and they shoot someone, the person getting shot at will die before the actual gunshot is propagated to the rest of the network bubble, leaving us wondering what the hell is happening until the shot sounds 5-10 seconds later.

So? This is not a problem. It's additional interesting content. It makes people think. Oh, yeah, he's dressed up as a supposed friendly player.. but what does that mean? Personally I would never go around wearing a UN armband, but some unscrupulous players might despite their intentions to shoot everyone in the face. I think that just adds flavor to the game. -

Reading the list I am shocked the FAL is not up there, while the M14 is. The FN FAL is a much more plausible addition to the game than the M14. The long arm of the free world, this rifle was the service rifle of countless European and other nations, which means it makes sense for it to be either a local 'UN' spawn, helicopter spawn, or all of the above. Meanwhile, the M14 was only ever an American service weapon, and it was taken out of service years ago, its DMR role replaced with 7.62x51 AR platforms and the SCAR-H. Let us put the long range scope on it and paint it green, like so: I'd never play another game again. -

1 bandage. So in other words, four fireplaces later you're stuck scrambling for kindling. You should loot books if you're going to do this playstyle. They're plentiful and give four fires each. (three pages of paper, then the book itself)

It really does not. Besides, it doesn't matter how many M4s are out there, what matters is magazines and ammo. The reason everyone ran the M4 pre-0.45 is because the ammo was easily the most plentiful in the game. Loot one tent city, be set for a week. That is no longer anywhere near the case.

Cooking steak + food poisoning help

Uh, dude. They change to a completely different item. They say 'cooked' and they get a new icon that actually looks like a cooked steak. One would think it would be obvious, but don't try to eat something which still says 'raw steak' in the item name. -
That's a farce, though, because there is no 'struggle' to find food and water. The game is overflowing with food and water. Perhaps that fantasy might become reality when they lower food spawns and require us to purify the water we harvest.

Hardcore hive character: It really does take effort to loot these days. Finding a drum mag is like cocaine. Now I just need to wait patiently for the Gorka jackets to release.. I really want one of those.

The ATC tower has attachments, ammunition, very often pistol magazines and pistols, and valuable military gear items like TTsKO jackets and hunting backpacks. None of these will appear in a civilian ATC tower. And, obviously, the new tower will be a fancy new design which actually looks civilian and might actually be nice to visit, instead of just the old Arma 2 military ATC. -

Military ATC will be replaced with a new civilian ATC. It's going to be a completely different area. -
remove magazine selection from Action UI, implement smart reloading

This really needs to happen. The way I have solved this up until now is to only carry one type of magazine, but since ammo and mags has become rare, this is no longer a viable option. You never want to change the magazine in your gun for some other smaller magazine using the function key. If I ever want to reload, it is because my magazine is (partially) depleted, in which case I will press the reload key. No other key, ever. Just remove reloading from the function key, for the love of all that is holy. Agree on this count as well. Even the mod made us access our backpack separately and deliberately to get items from it to our person, and only allowed us quick access to items on our actual person. In this case the new inventory system has actually made a step back compared to the mod.
