  1. To the guy that just tried to kill me at the Cherno apartments about 15 minutes ago, unluckly mate, I guess I win :D I wouldn't bother going back for your body either ;) Oh and thanks for the compass, just what I was looking for.
  2. Ah, that's a shame, I was going to be all hero like and come and blow a big fucking hole in your face!
  3. I assume you're talking about the fire? If so, looks like someone crashed a heli to me, the fire effect in Arma is quite tragic tbh and very buggy.
  4. More guns would of been my last choice tbh, not very imaginative and will not change game play in away way at all. I want to see where Vent can take this mod, he has a lot of good ideas and I'd like to see him implement them and will give him the support he needs. Standalone or not, I'm not suddenly gonna ditch the modding community, that's how this all started in the first place, and tbh I think you're overestimating the initial content that Standalone is going to give you, I think a lot of these mods, by the time SA is released, will be miles away in end game content than we'll have on initial release.
  5. Submitted my vote, easy one for me as it's the one I'm looking forward to most, Chernarus Redux. This for me would breathe massive life back into the map.
  6. Amsterdam should do the job nicely, cheers Vent, looking forward to being able to see what the fuck I'm doing ;)
  7. Oh and Vent, you could have warned us you'd changed the time, logged on and it was pitch black, usually it's day break at that time :)
  8. Yeah man that was me, you near on gave me a bastard heart attack! Zombies finished me off, you bust my leg and messed me up good I couldn't do a fecking thing, I think you died first? Seriously man, my heart was beating like a fucked clock, this game...........
  9. GG f0twenty, you scared the fucking crap out of me with that grenade you bastard ;)
  10. Just do what you think's best Vent, I don't think if you had to roll it back it would be a mod breaking issue tbh, if it can't be done it can't be done. I think having the player count you want and the stability to go with it is the most important thing here and then just concentrate your time on other things to enhance everyone's experience.
  11. This is such an open ended question I fear you're not going to get the kind of help you need in this thread mate. The best thing you can do is take a trip over to the new player forum and have a read of the many great tutorial threads that have been created for people like yourself. Secondly, Youtube, pretty much your best resource for this. There are so many videos on there for DayZ and plenty of tutorial ones too, just take some time out to watch these. Lastly, just play the game, die a lot (believe me, you WILL die a lot) and learn from every mistake you make, this is a hard game but at the same time the most rewarding game you'll ever play.
  12. Cool man, sounds like I missed out your green Scoda though, got the fuck out of dodge after all that.
  13. Chill your beans man, it sounded like too much of a coincidence not to be me, and with his broken English was difficult to pin point the details, I admit I should have waited for him to explain further. All sorted now though, although would be nice to know if the guy he was talking about was infact cheating in some way.
  14. Sounds like I was that second guy, as I was on my way up to the factory I saw a green scoda pass by in that direction. Apologies mate.
  15. I thought so, I think it must have been me you are talking about. I came into the factory building to see some guy with an Enfield, I've been killed too many times now to not kill, so I fired off my AKM and ended him. He didn't shoot me once. I moved further into the building to move away from the hoard of Zeds that had been attracted by the gun shots and turned around to see his buddy come to help, I fired at him and he took cover behind an object and started to bandage himself at which point I rounded the corner and finished the job. He didn't hit me once. Infact I didn't even hear any shots fired from either of you tbh. I'm thinking there must have been three of you because I heard a vehicle drive off between killing the first and second guy. So your version of events (if we are infact talking about the same situation) are complete bollocks mate. Don't appreciate being called a cheater, never cheated in my life buddy.
  16. No, all maps save independently of each other.
  17. Yeah. I reckon we have our solution, makes so much more sense.
  18. There you go Josh, an escape route out of Vilayers pocket for you, with an offer of an even better service than you are already getting by the sounds of it. You'd be able to go back to being the independent software you were when you started, and therefore able to make you own choices on what should and shouldn't be supported. Unless of course you are benefiting in other ways from being associated with this company?
  19. Or, maybe have the choppers spawn fully fixed with random spawn locations so as anyone has a chance of finding one and flying it. The main problem stopping most people being able to get one is fixing it on your own or as a group of 2/3 is nigh on impossible compared to a larger squad, so the same group of people are always in possession of them and have an unfair advantage over everyone else. Obviously I'm looking at this from a non squad perspective as that is what I am. Introducing the bi plane instead could make a difference as you say, trying to find a good place to land is not so easy, but again all you'll have is air support giving instructions to ground crews as to where everything is. I don't know, it's hard work pleasing everyone.
  20. I'm undecided on this. They are basically just easy mode for squads really. The new difficulty created in this mod as far as gearing up is not even relevant to anyone in possession of a helicopter as all they have to do is fly around and steal everyone elses hard earned loot, which lets be honest isn't hard with the inability to be able to hide anything from the air properly. As a lone wolf it's basically impossible to own a vehicle for any prolonged period of time, or keep a tent supplied for your own benefit and use. Not sure what the answer is really as you'd have a lot of very pissed off people if you took them out. As a lone wolf I would be happy to see them go as I have no ability to compete with squads to acquire one, but I can see it from the other side to that without much end game content, if you take them out you're not left with a lot to do as a squad. My suggestion would be, when the construction system is implemented, that they should be removed and that ground warfare should be the way to proceed, So people have to hunt for bases and camps and not have an easy mode way of finding everything on the map.
  21. So you're basically only worried about the potential legal issues here and none of the moral issues raised?
  22. So we should all just accept it as the status quo and move on? Sorry, I've got a voice and an opinion, and I'm prepared to use it, whether it makes a difference or not, I can at least say I tried.
