  1. This is a server setting typical to [Recruit] servers. It "can" be on other difficulty levels, or absent from Recruit servers but it is most often found on them.

    US 884 - BattleEye 55

884 is one of my favorite servers also. The admin is very nice and considerate, always checking to make sure the server is running properly (he has private messaged me on multiple occasions to check on this). I have never seen another server admin be as conscientious about this as Necio is. And at one time it was a fairly underpopulated server (which frankly I liked), but has become much more populated recently. To answer your question, no this is not a case of the admin kicking you for any reason. It is a battleye issues. I had the same thing happen on the same server. You just need to go manually download battleye file at http://www.battleye.com/download.html (get the client and server file for 1.62). This should clear the problem up for you, it did for my buddy and I.

    Stream

tried to, but all I could see was a green screen.
  4. ^ Did this also and it fixed it for me
  5. My buddy and I are getting this as well. We were playing on Server A, took a break and logged off. Jumped on Server B because it was night time and we had a long cross country run to make, so nighttime was our friend. Once we got to where our tents were we tried logging back into Server A and we both got kicked for this before we could load in. No vehicles, hadn't even picked up any new gear (not even a can of food). When we try to "re-install battleye" we get a missing string error.

    Legit or Hacked

Thank you for finding this. I was also under the impression that having a hacked weapon in your inventory could get you flagged and banned from the Hive (not battleeye). This puts to rest a concern we ran across tonight. My buddy and I had just respawned and were outside Cherno when we heard gunshots and went toward them. Figured all I had was a Lee Enfield, taking on a guy with an automatic is worth the risk. When we found him there was a guy leaning over a body in ghilie suit on the ground. I shot him a few times and killed him. We rushed out looting because we were in a high traffic area and didnt want someone to come up on us like we had him. When we checked out inventory my friend had picked up a M4 silenced and about 10 mags of SD ammo for it, and I had a regular m16 and a silenced pdw (plus other misc gear), however my friend also had a G36 SD clip on him. As far as I'm aware there is no G36 in the game so I was worried all of this gear was hacked in and we might get in trouble for it.
  7. Same thing. Ive only placed 1 tent so far myself and I put a Bizon with 1 clip in it, some food and water. I didnt have much on me but needed to make room for deerstand runs, so I saved it and ran off. We came back later and put more into the tent, saved and logged off. The next day the tent (and out car) was missing so we figured someone had found it and moved on. The day after we came back by the area and both the tent and car were back. The tent only had the Bizon 1 clip and food/water in it. Now no matter what I put in the tent, upon server restart it only has those initial items in it. The tent respawns these same items each server restart, even after I take everything out and save it. We have migrated to using atvs as storage because they are much more reliable (though also more prone to being stolen).

    CZ 550 or AKS74 Kobra?

Honestly I would have taken the Bizon. I love that gun, it was much better pre-nerf/bug but is still very good. Sure it takes several shots to down a Zed, but it have an impressive 64 round mag and is very quiet. And this piece of fail is why you should never play on a server with Nametags on.

    CZ 550 or AKS74 Kobra?

This completely depends on your playstyle. It's like asking "which is better a Porsche or a Yacht?" If you want to drive then the Porche is better, but if you are out on a lake then it will do you no good. The CZ is the entry level sniper rifle. It's not amazing but it does the job. However if you are playing as a solo non-bandit then it won't be all that useful. Yes yes I know non-bandits can use sniper rifles to take out bandit snipers also, but that requires constant weapon switching (which I hate), and even then it is only useful if you know ahead of time someone is in a hide. But if you have plenty of ammo for your MP5 and want to camp people from range then the CZ will obviously be better than the Kobra for that. Figure out what you want to do and pick the tool that fits that role.

Yea ive done this also. Normally you fire in just short bursts, but when you know you hit them and they dont call it I open up on them and start arcing the bbs to their face. This works nicely.

Every legit field has FPS limits and weapon specific rules. The standard for Oklahoma are: -Standard Guns must be under 400fps using .20 gram plastic bbs. No shots may be fired within a 20 foot safety distance except pistols (that register under 350 fps), safety kills must be used instead -Support Weapons have a 450fps limit, and a minimum engagement distance of 40 feet. These must be weapons that are specifically support weapons (rpk, m60, m249 ect. You can not take a M4 that is 450fps and call it a support weapon). -Sniper weapons must register under 550fps and may only use simi-auto fire (can not have the ability to use full auto or burst fire at all), and has a minimum engagement distance of 100ft. You must carry a backup standard weapon or pistol for engagments under 100 feet range. Airsoft tends to be played outdoors in the woods as opposed to on pre-built courses. Though I have run in several airsoft ops that used a local military MOUT facilities. This makes it much more fun IMO than what you see on paintball courses.
  12. I have spawned here twice so far, both times after being killed at NW Airfields. Both times I spawned partway through the house and in the ground. The first time I was able to get out of the walls and continue my character, the second time I was killed trying to get free. Both times zombies spawned in the air and fell to their deaths either inside or outside of the house. I like the idea of this being a rare spawn area. If you are killed up north your killer will think themselves safe from your reprisal for at least an hour or so. But if you spawn in here you can grab a starter weapon and surprise them, adding to the "you are never safe" feel of the game.

Some airsoft guns (once you factor in the various upgrades) cost more than a real gun would even new. I was always told that you shouldn't even bother picking up a sniper type weapon for airsoft unless you are willing to spend in the thousands of dollars to upgrade it. As for realism.... it's a fake gun. Of course it's not going to hit like or sound like a real gun. The point is to go out and have fun and shoot your friends "without the added complications of death, dismemberment, and formal criminal charges". If you want realism join the armed forces, it's really your only option.

    Battle Royale: Survival Program Mod

I have never read BR, but it is on my list of things to read. As for Hunger Games.... the movies are eh The book was pretty good however since they dealt more with the social/political aspects of the world. Those were the most interesting parts of the story to me.
  15. I have to make a couple of points on this. Crosshairs are not at all accurate, not at close range and certainly not at long range. I am referring to while you are in 3rd person view, I don't honestly know how accurate they are in 1st person. I prefer 3rd person for playing, but always switch to ironsights to fire my weapon because of the accuracy issues. The times that I have tried using the crosshairs I have wasted half a clip missing the zed I was aimed at before pulling up ironsights only to accurately put the zed down with a single shot. As for realism, I would argue that point also. IRL when you are holding a weapon but not actively aiming through it you are still generally aware of where it is pointed. This is because you have a high degree of familiarity with your own body and spatial awareness. No you can not pinpoint aim with a gun at your side, but you know "generally" where it is pointed and you know this in more specific terms than "somewhere in front of me". Where as in games like this without crosshairs all you know is that your weapon is pointed "somewhere in front of me" with no degree of certainty. So in this way crosshairs are more realistic than not having them. I like corsshairs being turned on, though not for aiming (as I already said). The reason I like them is that they make it much so easier to target things on the ground. Without them I tend to feel like I am blind and just waving my hands over the ground hoping to stumble across the loot pile that I know is right in front of me. Combine with how tricky it can sometimes be to interact with tents, or vehicles (having to be in exactly the right spot to refill or open the gear menu), and crosshairs become much more important in gear/inventory management than they are for combat.

Airsoft can be a ton of fun, but it all depends on the people you play with. I used to play nearly every weekend for several years, plus multiple regional and national events (such as Oklahoma Invasion, check it out if you are into Airsoft. Its a ton of fun, they use military vehicles as transports and even overflight runs by helicopters armed with airsoft LGMs). The sport depends on honesty 100%. Everyone is expected to call their hits and be aboveboard, as well as calling for safety skills when you get too up close and personal. 99% of the people I played with were honest, but as with any group you will have people who try to cheat. Those people don't last long and tend to get banned from any local fields or events run by or with local people. That being said it can be an expensive hobby to get into, costing several hundred dollars worth of gear before you can even try it out (unless you are lucky enough to be able to get rentals or loaners from someone), and the temperment of the other players can ruin Airsoft also. The local group I always played with started getting overrun by a group of elitists pricks who changed the whole feeling of the game imo, and I havent been out to play in over a year because of it. Which is too bad because it really can be a TON of fun.
  17. I doubt the game has muzzle velocity incorporated also, just like it doesnt really include the effects of ammo types. Otherwise the M16 would be a 1 shot kill, its ammo is specifically designed to "tumble" once it hits a body creating a corridor of trauma a mile wide that takes you out of the fight pretty much wherever it hits you.
  18. Ok so it is getting pretty annoying coming across a bunch of servers that are locked or passworded. It is clearly against the rules, and clearly a server admin who is just farming loot (especially when you see them locked with only 1 person in it). So what about we all compile a list of every locked server that we come across as a reference list for the devs to then shut them down? US #500 Multiplay :: Training Grounds (Locked) US 1447 Hosted by Utah Warriors (password) US 309 Hosted by Inversion (password) GB #500 Multiplay Nemesis Rising (password) DE567 MeLLer Berge (password) US1101 Fear Gaming | Vilayer.com (admin TibzFox continuously kicked for no reason even with ping under 50)

    Run Speed Variance?

For a while I thought run speed was tied to your weapon. I had always noticed that running with a primary was faster than with a pistol, and crawling with a pistol was faster than with a primary. I no longer think this is true. I run with a group of two other people and someone is always lagging behind, even when we all have the same weapons out. And it changes from server to server. On one I will be the fastest in the group, on another I will be the slow one (no other changes beside the server). So your connection/fps determining run speed makes sense.

If your infected you will begin to cough. This can spread it to your friends if they are near you I believe.

    "Player Killed by Player" msg

Every once in a while I will see a message "X has killed Y (Friendly Fire)". But it is rare, and every other death message on the same server is just "X has died". Any ideas what that is about?

    List of Locked Servers?

*shrug* Then they can ignore the thread and not be hurt by it if they want to. Worst case scenario I (and anyone else who wants to add to the list) get an illusory feeling of doing something to help make the game better. Best case scenario they pay attention to the thread and it makes their jobs a bit easier, and the game gets better with our help. Either way the only people who possibly can be hurt by it are the people who are cheating by locking their servers. As for "they would have already done something about it" I have read multiple threads where they do in fact ban servers for these types of infractions. So until I am told otherwise by the Devs I choose to proceed under the assumption that they are continuing to do something about the problem and may welcome support and help in that effort.
  23. Very nice job. Helpful until the weapon damage bugs get fixed, which wil hopefully be soon.
  24. Is this only for being changed into animals and such, or does it include things like changing into the "Delta Glasses" ala http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/44224-players-wearing-ski-mask/ ?
  25. Good job :) It must have sucked for your friend whom I ran over, but I found that encounter to be very fun even though you shot me out of the car and then killed my buddy on the ground. Hope you enjoy the gear, you earned it.
