Can we make the gunplay more skillbased and smoother>
Sean_87__ replied to GameComplainer's topic in Suggestions
Simply put, make the game more realistic. The player movement and the way guns work needs to be addressed. Make it realistic. -
The movement speed is still too fast, especially lateral movement. People actually move side to side to draw fire, that’s how ridiculous it is. The damage drop off from rifles is also a major problem. A 400 meter shot from a high powered rifle should put someone down no problem. Get rid of all these unrealistic calculations and make the guns realistic and a players response to getting hit realistic. Don’t forget who your audience is or you will lose them in pursuit of a different audience. Not everyone likes the same types of games, that’s fine. You cant make a game for everyone so don’t try. Make the game more realistic because that’s what your audience wants. I only listed 2 things that I have a problem with, but those two are pretty glaring to me.

Sometimes I have to go into my inventory and combine a mag with my gun because it will not reload by holding triangle button. I have not figured out what exactly triggers this to happen, but it’s going to get me killed one of these dayz.

When using binoculars laying down you are forced to look up into the sky to start. This is similar to the issue you already fixed with looking through the scope on guns.

Please remove the ability to see through map assets while logging in. A simple solution is to blackout the screen until all the map assets load first. Or, you could increase the time it takes to load in until the map assets have loaded first. This is a huge exploit/cheat people use on console to see players through map assets that haven’t loaded.

Player character dies when logging off under effect of pox granade/vial

The only way to fix the issue is to have only specific spots you can log off at. Such as, the entire edge of the map and a few hotels inland. -
Unfortunately PlayStation is the problem.

I’m still waiting on them to change the lean buttons. I don’t even use them because I don’t play with my middle fingers. Lean should be R3 and L3 while ADS with a toggle option. You know, like every other game on console. It’s a shame this hasn’t been addressed yet.

I said absolutely nothing about rust. My suggestion has nothing to do with rust nor does it work like rust.
-
The game plays great on a controller. The problem is, we don’t have the ability to change button binds. I don’t even use the lean buttons because I hate where they are assigned. I just need the ability to customize the controls to get it right.

The ability to zoom in with your naked eye is absolutely retarded. It definitely needs to be removed. If you want to see better, get binoculars or a scope, period.
-
I have been saying this is an issue anywhere on the map, not just the bunker. The only way to fix the problem is to have designated log off spots such as the entire edge of the map and a few hotels towards the middle to log off at. The ability to log off anywhere on the map at anytime ruins the game. So many people log off and on just to see where people are at because the assets don’t load in right away. People also combat log when they get in trouble. This is one of the biggest issues in the game that needs to be addressed.

Absolutely not. This is not call of duty or any of those garbage character games like rainbow six.

I couldn’t disagree more. I originally bought the game because it’s made by arma devs. I expect a somewhat realistic experience. I do not want balance, like many others, I want realism. I understand that this game has fantasy zombies, but I expect the game to have accurate gun ballistics and player movement. You, as a company, should not be looking to satisfy everyone, only the people who got you this far, the arma crowd. You became a success with a realistic game, continue on the path. If you deviate, you will become like all the other games, which will eventually lead to you losing your original customers. There are not too many companies that make sim shooters or anything representing reality. You should want to stay in that market and have goals of owning it. If you jump into the arcade market, you have a good chance of drowning because there is more competition in said market. Don’t forget who you are and why you became successful!

The games movement needs to be fixed as well, but the thread was originally about ballistics. The movement is too fast and the gear we can carry is too much. The side to side movement is too fast as well. Looking through scopes while moving is too easy. Running up hill at the same rate as a level field is insane. Running down hill is also ridiculously fast without the consequences of possibly tripping and getting seriously injured. You are both in the same camp of making the game behave more realistically. Not sure why you guys are arguing with each other. Plenty of guys to argue with on here that would prefer the game to get even more un realistic than it already is.
