[CE][LootRespawner] (PRIDummy) :: Item [1742] causing search overtime: "Chestplate"
ChicagoFaucet posted a topic in Troubleshooting
My hosting service is Host Havoc. Great service. I sometimes just let the live log viewer run on one of my monitors throughout the day. It refreshes with what's going on on the server every few seconds. This issue that I'm about to talk about has been going on for a while now. It's just been low-priority for me to look into. But, it seems that mostly the "historical" types on my server are having issues spawning. These lines appear frequently in the log viewer report: [CE][LootRespawner] (PRIDummy) :: Item [1742] causing search overtime: "Chestplate" And it will also go through, like, norsehelm, sword, mace, chainmail, etc. Also, those item numbers change, but are always sequential. Like, the chestplate entry will next show a number like 2078, with all the other historical types in sequence around it. I actually do not know if they are spawning or not. I haven't had any players go to any castles recently and report any issues. But, then again, going to the castles is really not that popular on my server. So, I really don't know either way. I'll attach a screenshot snippet of what I am seeing. Any help deciphering what this error message means, and how to fix it, would be very much appreciated. -
Does anyone know of a mod that uses alternate ways to open a key card door?
ChicagoFaucet posted a topic in General Discussion
I kinda don't like key cards and key card doors. But, I think it would really excite the players on my server to have them. But, I cannot suspend disbelief in knowing that there would be no electricity in an apocalypse to power the key card door. I think a way to satisfy both camps is to have alternate ways to open key card doors. Like, use the electrical repair kit. Or a generator. Metal wire. Truck and car battery. Something like that. Does anyone know of an existing mod that does that? -
Eh. I just removed the hunting backpack from my server altogether. It's better without them.

Yeah, very familiar with the various XML and JSON validators and beautifiers. I use them constantly to check my work (was too scarred in the past by simple typo errors). When I make an upgrade to my server, I always try to do it in the data of the server, before I resort to installing mods. So, very familiar with the bits. I have most items that have good storage space spawn in with a chance of something. It's a way I use to deliver items to the server. Zombies, backpacks, vehicles, crates and boxes etc. Not sure what's going on.

Whenever I make a large change to my server, I can expect for the economy to choose a random object, and spawn it out of control. I recently switched around some mods. When I started my server back up, I now have hunting backpacks all over the place. Like, at least one per building. Some buildings have two or three. So, we're talking a potential of a thousand or so hunting backpacks on my server right now. Aside from containers and base-building-related items, I have all items set up with the same lifetime of 28800, and respawn of 0. For the hunting backpack specifically, the nominal and min are 5 and 3, respectively. I also have a few mundane items that spawn with a random chance inside the hunting backpack. Any idea why this happens?

Due to popular demand from my players, I started a Namalsk server. I added a crashed helicopter event to it, just like my other server. The helicopter spawns, but no loot spawns. I checked and double-checked. I have a lot of different loot with the dynamic event flag turned on in the types.xml file, and the event seems to be spawning - just not loot. I know that Namalsk is a special type of server, different from the rest. Does anyone know if there is something about Namalsk servers that do not allow dynamic loot to spawn in?

No Loot or Zombies Spawning on my Server.
ChicagoFaucet replied to ChicagoFaucet's topic in Troubleshooting
Here is a symptom of the problem, I suppose. To troubleshoot, I am running the new files through the local DayZ Server on my PC, and this pops up. The list is much longer than this screenshot, and it includes pretty much every single event on the server. I have double and triple checked, and both the events.xml and cfgeventspawns.xml files are intact and in place. Any ideas why using the DayZ Editor might cause this? -
I built, own, and run a vanilla server that has a small but dedicated fan base. I have about 2,000 hours on DayZ, and I probably got 1,000 of those hours while working on the server alone. Absolutely no mods. I built it up, (literally) bit by bit. I used no external tools. Everything was trial and error and manual. I'm used to going through thousands of lines of code to look for an errant comma or missing bracket somewhere. I decided to step up the server a bit by using the DayZ Editor mod to add objects to the server - just to create the code for me to use. I did not install that mod. I did a bunch of work on the server with the DayZ Editor. Added the extracted code to both the mapgrouppos.xml file, and created a new JSON file for the "custom" folder on the server. I also have other JSONs that I created manually for the server there, so I compared this new JSON to the old ones to make sure that the formatting was correct. I also made sure to reference the new JSON file in the cfggameplay.xml file. The only objects that I used the DayZ Editor to add were buildings and inanimate environmental objects. I stopped my server. Uploaded all of the files, and restarted it. I then waited a couple hours for everything to sort itself out, and then I went back in as a player. I ran through three cities, but did not see a single zombie, nor a single piece of loot. During this above process, I never touched the types.xml file, or anything having to do with the zombies. The usage of the DayZ Editor was simply to get the object names and coordinates that I needed. I backed-up my server before I started all this, so I simply reverted back to that back-up from a few hours before, and everything is good now, but I still would like to try and fix this issue. I use XML and JSON validators all the time, and have run several of the files through them. No errors. I have scanned through manually, too. All formatting is correct. I have no idea. Any one have any ideas of what I could try?

Anyone else getting wet for no reason whatsoever?

Looks like it's progressively getting worse. My character, just standing there on dry land, clear blue sky, when from damp, to wet, now to drenched. -

I own a server. It's a vanilla server. No mods. Just today, players have been stating that when they spawn a new character, within a few minutes, the character gets wet. I spawned into the server and confirmed that it is happening. Anyone else having this problem, or heard of it before? Looking for an explanation. I made two changes today, but they were just to add new weapons to the character random loadout. This is something that I do regularly, though, to keep the server interesting. -
Where can I find the raw files of the update, so that I can manually update my server?

When I ran the update on my server (the platform is Host Havoc), my original files were carried forward. So, I have no idea where to find the new content files. Was the Github updated?
