Evening All,
I recently bought DayZ as I was told that it can be a single player game. Obviously now having played it I realise that what I was told is not exactly a lie but definitely not the truth either. I've downloaded and created my own LAN server and I'm enjoying playing it but I wanted to invite a friend of mine to explore the map with me. Whilst I'm pretty clueless when it comes to multiplayer gaming, I have done this sort of thing with games like 7 days and Conan so I do have an idea of how to set up a server on my PC and then share it for a friend to join.... Sadly I've not been able to get it to work with DayZ despite playing around with the .cfg files, confirming my external IP, adjusting ports on my router, etc. I'm wondering if anyone out there that's better at this sort of thing could offer some advice? I've found some amazing YT vids on setting up the server, adding mods, etc. but sharing is the one thing where any data seems to be quite sparse. Thanks in advance. :o)
