  1. Its been stated already the zombies are nowhere near finished and are place holder, why the hell do people buy a game that's not finished and then complain and criticize that its not finished. I'm not sure if I am a fanboy or what as it just seems to get thrown around on these forums, but if fanboy means not an impatient moron who's always posting complete BS on the forums than I guess I am. After a little research I managed to find that a separate team have been hired to work on the zombie and animal ai so its pretty clear to me they plan on sorting the zombies out and its just a case of time. Yes your right criticism is require but do you honestly think that moaning about obvious problems that the devs are well aware of and are planning on fixing helps anything? Fuck, everybody and there mum knows the zombies atm are completely fucked, there wasnt even going to be any zombies at all in the initial release of alpha but they added place holders. You seem to be under the impression that the people who create the content such as hats and items, are the same people who work on zombie ai and path finding. Seriously the hats are not delaying the zombies from being improved. Its obvious to me that the zombies can be fixed because they are much better in the mod so maybe we just need to be patient. Yep, there's nothing wrong with development or priorities imo but this is by far one of the worst communities full of cry babies and asshats. This isn't particularly targeted at the OP btw.

    Zombies still exactly the same?

Lol this is to true I was so excited when the machete was added and had visions of walking dead style zombie executions. Finally found one in some garages and rushed to test it out, about 15 swings and 3 bandages later I managed to kill a zombie. Disappointed :(

    RAIN!

I love this feature, this game is a survival game (or should be) and in a survival situation the weather can be your greatest enemy. I definitely agree there needs to be more ways to protect and keep yourself warm and dry though, and I'm sure they will come. Also it would be cool if you could easily find plastic bags to store more precious items in that are more common than the protective cases. I've played project zomboid where rain also effects you and you end up holding up in a house surrounded by zombies because of it, and I think it works pretty well in that and there's no protection whatsoever other than shelter. I agree, there should definitely be differing types of rain too, and maybe if go's all cloudy before so you can prepare yourself.

Standalone Priorities - The Big One

I see where you're coming from I really do, in a perfect world that is probably the best way but when working to a deadline some things have to be fixed later because there is more important things to be doing such as adding the core features of the game. This doesn't mean by the way that no bugs will be fixed at all, but only priority bugs such as game breakers and serious performance issues. But some of the issues the OP talks about are not game breaking such as buggy sounds and hot key delay even if they are annoying, and can be put on hold while the developers work on getting all the features in before beta. Then when beta arrives the team can dedicate more time and more manpower on bug fixing rather than either splitting man power between bug fixing and features or concentrating on bug squashing alone in alpha and having zero game features/mechanics to show for your time (not a good way to impress the boss). This also ties in with dean wanting to leave after alpha stage because his job will be done, and almost all the features will be implemented and all that will be left to do is bug fixing and performance stabilizing which is not his job. This also goes for the content creators who are making the items and weapons there job is not to fix bugs but to create content, so new hats and weapons will come regardless of bug fixing. I don't know alot about software development to be honest but I'm sure bohemia, a very successful development company who have released 18 products do. Oh and I don't think zombie related bugs are really bugs because they are technically a work in progress feature. Alpha is the stage after which all the foundations of the design are layed down and the key features are completed. At this stage the game should look like a basic form of it's finished product. Alpha is used as a base to work and implement improvements to during the next stage. Beta is the second major milestone in development. During the Beta testing bugs/glitches are corrected and the code should be completed. There should be no more changes at Beta stage to the key elements of the game, as the game should be near finalisation at this point. Gold Master stage is the complete game, and should contain no bugs, and the game should ideally be ready for manufacturing.

Standalone Priorities - The Big One

Because when the new content is added after fixing the fundamentals, there's a high chance that the content they add could just mess them up again making twice the work.

Standalone Priorities - The Big One

Soo whats the point of fixing something that could just be broken again when the next features added, so they can fix it again?, its not bullshit that's the way games are made. Lol Aviza I was just about to hit Paste on that exact definition.

AKM Sneak peak close to being implemented

Ahh fair enough lol, I read it as overall weapon ballistics. I'm not very technical when it comes to this sort of thing but I do know that the accuracy is pretty terrible and that the attachments alter some daft things. I hate the dispersion how it is, i wouldn't mind if there was more weapon drift while aiming to simulate that your character isn't the steadiest aim, the randomness is just bad.

AKM Sneak peak close to being implemented

Not played in awhile due to no updates (not complaining just got bored and waiting) but the flawed weapon accuracy and ridiculous attachment feature were a must fix for me, and its quite annoying that it hasn't been fixed yet. I mean its mostly just numbers that need tweaking isn't it? I find it really annoying coming from the mod where weapons and tactics were deadly, I used to love aiming my rifle at a player who isn't aware I'm there at about 400m with an M4 and waiting for that clear, clean shot. But now I need to fire a full clip just to get a hit. Why? because my character isnt trained? So for some reason his shot completely miss even though my sights are dead on. Stupid shit. And what happened to this? - Weapons: Ballistic parameters of all projectiles tweaked for more realism (special thanks to Gews for his great analysis on weapon characteristics)

Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**

Godamn ill agree ive been a little disappointed with the speed of the updates and lack of communication, but after seeing whats coming I am very excited and cant wait to play the game again (thats right I got bored and decided to play other games instead of bitching about it on the forums). I really dont think you understand how much work it takes to add the features that you think are worthless, but really arent and are the stepping stones for a real survival game. -Flashlights working in day is due to the new hdr lighting I believe which effects much more such as the overall quality of lighting such as fires and lamps. -physics were not present in the arma 2 engine or the dayz mod, and people complained when they said ragdoll and such wasnt a priority. But hey look there doing it, which is great. -hunting? Thats a MAJOR feature and is 100% necessary, its basic survival. -the perma backpacks are for testing, for later things such as tents. -dysync yea they should be ashamed IF this was a finished game and sold as one. -oh but bicycles you like? Im guessing your one of these vehicle people, sounds like you just dont want this game but the mod so why not just play the mod.

DayZ should have an inventory similiar to CoP

Ahhh stalker, its a good inventory system but I like the one we have already although it needs some tweaking and jazzing up a bit. One thing I cant stand and annoys me every time is when you try to drag something into your backpack but you need to scroll down to get there, only you cant do this while you have the item ready to place in. So you TAB drag item from vicinity but.. ahh shit need to scroll, place item back in vicinity scroll to backpack and drag item from vicinity again <_<
  11. rickyspanish

    The UI

I'm all for the less shit on my screen the better just because that's what I prefer, I think checking your inventory screen could be kind of like checking for wounds and such. Its not difficult to just check on your statuses by pressing TAB and it doesn't clutter up the screen, and if you are hungry well your already in your inventory for quick food access. I think no matter what UI we have it wont be realistic though, for that you would need to be able to feel and think like a human being but in game.
  12. How was it a fail from the moment they announced it? Just curious
  13. Nope that's a statement is it not and I guess the deal with it was counter to the other guys crying, like when a child is crying after his toy breaks maybe a parent would teach him to deal with it or maybe in some cases it seems they will just buy him a new one to shut him up.

    WTF are with the Books?

Wow hilarious visions of this guy searching the internet for what books are for, I mean wtf really?Fair enough you don't want to read in a video game me either, but I don't see any harm in them at all. In fact im all for more useless junk items that would serve you no purpose but you might find in a house, makes more sense than the house being full of usefull stuff and makes good loot much harder to find. And maybe one day when I have my camp set up, ill have a little read while my friend cooks up meat we gained out hunting. And think about when the weather has an effect on your character, and you have to seek shelter till the rain stops so why not pull out a book and read a few pages. This is a game where people can do whatever they want, and im guessing theres a few roleplayers playing that like to carry things that make the character more human. When I kill someone I check there gear and if I open there bag and find books, a pen and a journal (notes) Id actually feel a little more sympathetic and guilty of my actions as this guy planned to live and write his stories, compared to someone with a bag full of ammo and guns who just wants to be another so called bandit.

2 years on and nothing has changed

Speak for yourself I don't feel I've been duped into anything I've already got my moneys worth out of the alpha alone. Go play a finished game and comeback when DayZ is finished, if it still hasn't progressed to your liking then you can moan all you want. I care because this is a survival game, not a war game.
  16. rickyspanish

    Being killed,with no explanation ?

Maybe play the game properly and stop being a wuss and it wont be so boring... I also believe you got sniped as I have about 250 hours played and witnessed no random deaths but I have witnessed my friends firing there weapons and being completely silent. And why did you even buy the game in the first place?, doesn't sound like your cup of tea mate!

    Why is hardcore so underpopulated?

That's strange I found the exact opposite, I've had way more positive interaction on hardcore servers. And I prefer hardcore just because I get much more immersed in the game, I know a lot of people don't like it because its "clunky" but I kinda like how it feels personally. Maybe it something I've gotten used to being an arma player.
  18. rickyspanish

DayZ SA is already becoming too damn easy

I agree with most of your points 100% but it's in alpha so hopefully things will change once there's more items (less likely to find the items you need and much more crap) more guns would also mean more ammo types making it harder to find the ammo you want, basically I agree but theres alot more time for improvement.

New ballistic parameters in upcoming patch!

Yea good work, and thanks have some beans.

    Pro combat loggers

Bumped into a guy today in Berinzino lumber mill 2nd floor office building, I had nothing he had a mosin, I threw him a friendly wave and he.. vanished. Swear that guy had it macro'd to his left mouse button.

    Give us a Duckin Map

Absolutely nothing wrong with the in game map, it works just fine for me. Maybe its not the map that's fucking useless??, and to the OP the game is supposed to be authentic how many maps do you pick up in real life that tell you your exact location. Jeez some people choose the strangest things to moan about.

    Cant start game after updating

The only things I altered was enabling windowed mode while attempting to get shadowplay working, but I've deleted my configs and done a fresh install. Thanks for reply

    Rolling Changelog: Stable Branch: 0.32.114557

You payed for the finished game and got to alpha test the alpha while you wait, I didnt have any difficulty understanding that when I clicked purchase why do you? 1)As far as I'm aware the build was run on experimental servers first, so it was tested and deemed stable enough to release on all servers most alphas don't even do this as we are supposed to be testing and finding the bugs. 2)This is alpha there's going to be more CRITICAL issues to come which take time to fix. Alphas rarely rollback the idea is to cram in features and content and work out the problems later (Beta). 3) Hiring more staff for the team takes time, they've only had our money for what just over a month? Its not a case of throwing money at people and telling them to code, they have to be trained with how the engine works and briefed on the project. I'm not content with mediocrity I just have patience and maybe think the devs know more about making a game then I do, I understand the game is alpha and I could lose my character at any moment without notice, but I won't come whining to the forums thinking I have the direct line to BI headquarters complaining about an issue I'm sure they are well aware of, as this is an unfinished game. If these problems pesist in Beta then I would be much more concerned.
