Cooking pot not attaching to stone fireplace?

What makes you think it hasn't been reported? Some of the worst bugs in the game have been there since it released and just ignored. Far easier for the developers to introduce new shiny things every update than fix longstanding issues. Just go visit dayz twitter to see how vacuous people gush over a new gun and cream their pants over kitchen timers or fireworks lol.

    Community Spotlight - June 2022

Silly things like needing to peel a potato to bake it, overheating with dehydration and health loss while cooking or driving, needing to remove a hook from a rod to put a worm on it, chop a tree down and it falls completely intact roots and all instead of just leaving a stump and the harvested logs, vehicles strain to climb the same hills player characters traverse with ease, running down steps launching/floating players into the air, inability to clear small obstacles like a 2ft fence or high step with low stamina or a broken leg, no option to open doors slowly/quietly, can't throw a bag over a wall if there are items in it, can't place full bags/clothing in a barrel or boot of a car, Backpacks and shoulder weapons remaining visible and clipping through vehicle roof/seats, banging nails in with hatchet blade first, no choice of wall/gate size when building, no option to build a watchtower without a hole for steps, watchtower design that doesn't actually allow you to fire down from it, stepped platforms on walls that don't allow you to actually fire over them, dodgy infected ai and pathfinding (how do they instantly know all the other entrances to the building you just shut them out of? Why do they aggro on you 30m away motionless in a bush because someone else fired a gun 30m behind them?) All silly things really, liveable with obviously, but which the game would benefit far more from by being addressed than adding new weapons/loot that are all just variations on the same theme as existing and thus change nothing in terms of immersion or gameplay. 😐

    Community Spotlight - June 2022

Wow, you mean to say you're finally gonna focus on fixing all the longstanding gamebreaking bugs and those introduced over the past couple of updates instead of adding cheap, shiny trinkets and poorly considered mechanics that only break it more? Yes please!
  4. yep, that's usually how vision works, unless you have telescopic eyes
  5. Try playing on console controller if you find aiming too easy
  6. Sounds like the server owner had fun ;)

    Console Update 1.18

But why release the update from experimental, essentially forcing it upon the player base, with the bugs not fixed? Who is crying out for the early release of any update that is full of game breaking bugs? No one. Ever.

    About contaminated areas

^^ The NBC zombies shouldn't even be there considering the gas was designed to kill the infected. There's no game mechanic that turns humans into zombies so we have to assume all survivors are immune. We then have to assume the NBC suited zombies became infected prior to the gas and their attached filters expired long ago (the infected being notorious for their lack of personal care) thus they should all die when the gas hit. Filters and suit parts could still be looted from the dead. Would be much better if a small percentage of the existing zombies (and the local wildlife?) are immune to the gas but it makes them mutate into something far more terrifying to deal with...

    Console Update 1.18

I've been thinking the exact same thing the past few updates. But then it occurred to me that they get informed of all these issues during experimental testing but then just go ahead and release the updates without fixes for them anyway. Merely a pinky promise that a fix is coming in a future update.

Respawn button timer (to prevent pvp reset)

You really that desperate to get that last close range headshot in eh? 😜 Just assume they died instead of going uncon, because logging while uncon kills them anyway. The only thing i can see it affecting is a killfeed, and if that's all important why not just play COD or any other game that does PVP far better?

    Console Update 1.18

What do you mean? The trees are the best thing about this game. Apart from the fact that when you chop them down they don't fall so much as come out of the ground, roots and all. Oh ,and when you log them the tree remains completely intact. Oh and the fact that a single leaf can tank a mosin round when firing out of the cover of one. All that aside the trees are still the best thing about the game, but that could just be down to the rest of the game currently sucking due to the increasingly worse and compounding bugs they keep introducing each update ;)

    Ability to cook rice

i reckon you're right DefectiveWater... but if you can switch classes via an action why not class it as food and planting it makes it a seed. That way we could also eat seeds 😉

    WATER BOTTLE SUPPRESSOR IS CHEESE

I really like the idea of crafting things, it gives players multiple options to deal with different scenarios... the game would be far less interesting if you could only chance upon by luck items you might later find useful. Craftable range weapons are still sadly lacking (bows, catapults) as is the ability to throw missiles such as stones and tins and even the spears to injure or KO someone or something. The improvised clothing mechanic is not very well applied (outside of foot/hand/face wraps)... having to rip up perfectly good clothes (with their better stat properties of insulation and carrying capacity) into rags to then wrap around your body is a joke. Birds should be more than random ambient sounds too. I understand the limitations of having them as real interactive physical entities but imagine them taking to the air due to gunfire or wheeling above corpses in a field (a bit like helicopter/chimney smoke)... that would be a really atmospheric gameplay mechanic IMO. Even just the calls alone of carrion feeders (crows/buzzards) in the vicinity of dead bodies would be great, with the sound carrying far further than flies.

    WATER BOTTLE SUPPRESSOR IS CHEESE

Realism? There is none, only gameplay mechanics... and there's very little point having a gameplay mechanic as useless as a one time use silencer lol
  17. I've played a pure PVE server that was pretty hardcore on PS4. No kill zones at all. I was basically the only person in it at the time but it was a real struggle to stay alive until about 2 hrs in when i found my first gun so i could actually get out of town, escape the zombies and hunt a large animal. There was so little loot, especially anything you'd count as a weapon, and maybe one in 10 of the zombies would drop a food item when killed. It was quite intense and would have been nigh on impossible if i was following another player through the same loot route. If that was the case though the thrill of maybe catching up to them, taking them on and nicking their loot would have been missing. A fine balance between PVE and PVP is definitely something the game should be aiming for IMO 🙂
  18. ^ yeah. Imagine being able to store or carry 'grab bags' that contain specific items for specific missions. Base building? A grab bag with hatchet, saw, nails, wire, codelock. Base raiding? Grenades, gun, rounds, IV bloodbag. Doing some recon? Ghillie suit, food/water, radio and hunting scope. Hitting a toxic zone? Well you know the score. Grab bags would be a great gameplay addition.
  19. I have struggled with the pouches/holster issue, plain annoying. No matter what item in the pouches i highlight it pulls out the gun from the holster.
  20. In real life if i have a backpack full of stuff i'm able to put it in a car or some kind of storage area like a tent without removing all the contents first. I could also leave it well hidden in a bush in the middle of nowhere and expect to come back to it a week later and find it still there. It certainly wouldn't just strangely disappear after a set amount of time. That kind of realism would no doubt make the game more entertaining... but you'd rather the tedious realism of putting a bag down and pulling everything out to find anything? Maybe all the loot you pick up should have to pass through your hands before it can be stored too? That'd be fun. Don't forget to set your bag on the floor before you try and put that dried apple inside it, and put your gun down too before you pick up the apple. Imagine the excitement of doing the entire thing in reverse when you get peckish! Unfortunately in real life, my bag when full, doesn't tell me what is in it at a glance. Unlike in Dayz i have to dig through it to find what i'm looking for. Although if it did by some magic keep me instantly informed of its contents i'm pretty sure it could work that same magic so i could quickly access them too 😉
  21. Don't forget it's supposed to be a game, not a grind. The only mechanics that should aim for realism are those that improve the enjoyment of the game, anything that is tedious and repetitive albeit realistic should be sent packing. To be honest the only thing that is even bordering realism in this game is the scenery anyway.
