I never said the devs should disable all damage, nor did i say they should introduce modern performance cars or rocket powered shopping trolleys... I was merely posting an example of hobbyist modded vehicles that don't bug out, break and kill the occupants at any given opportunity, while also having the horsepower to climb any of the multitude of hills found in the region in which the cars found in the dayz world were apparently marketed for. Just imagine the trouble the school run or weekly shop would have been pre apocalypse with such useless vehicles 😉 If the devs can't fix the bugging cars, which they obviously can't, then making them just a little less fragile is the easy and obvious path forward. Something it seems you're in total agreement with. Also a simple fix to make shouldered items disappear when entering a car so they don't stick through the roof. They already do it on ladders for items carried in your hand. And while they are at it they could put a stop to dropping the item in your hand when entering a car as well. All stupid immersion/game breaking bugs with incredibly easy fixes. I struggle to comprehend why you or anyone else would even try to defend these bugs and issues in a game you've paid good money for? A game where you can't bake a potato without removing its skin but happily eat bananas peel and all, can die of thirst in a rainstorm while being unable to remove blood from your hands in same rainstorm, can't mix milk powder with water to make milk, can't shoot out of a vehicle, can't carry passengers in the back of truck, bike helmets in nigh on every house but not a bike to be seen, can't don a raincoat over a t shirt, have to strip down to wear NBC 'coveralls' and wearing gloves when skinning an animal somehow stops blood from getting on the same gloves is already one that ignores the meaning of the word 'realism'. That word should never be raised when trying to defend this game and definitely not its weird inconsistencies and game breaking bugs.

Really? Note crashing the vehicles neither kills occupant or damages car beyond repair; not a broken radiator, dead sparkplug and ruined tyres to be seen. Obviously a bit OP but dayz devs would do well to make their vehicles more OP so that when the game inevitably hangs while driving them it isn't instant game over. AT least until they can guarantee that all vehicle crashes are down to player fault and not game bugs. Vehicles can even hill start and show the semblance of proper driving physics. And so on...

Yep, that just about covers the driving experience. Utterly ridiculous. If only the Dayz developers had half the skills of the bedroom modding community we might actually have a fully realised and playable game...

Even the sound effects of the car are different for driver and passengers... the latter hearing what sounds like a nasty clapped out fanbelt and seized discs everywhere they are driven

The consoles are constantly recording gameplay so issues of who was in the wrong can be solved by sharing the relevant bit of video. Not sure if this is possible without external software on pc?

It seems to me that fresh food becomes more abundant the less you need it. I don't think it's coded that way but as you progress through the game and are better stocked you're more likely to hang around around in one place as opposed to frantically running around as a freshie. When you do this you notice shrooms and fruit spawn constantly in large numbers all around you.

Well one of the things i've noticed with cars is they tend to bug out less with fewer occupants. I'd imagine bikes would be less buggy as they would just be an extension of the single player riding them, a player model moving faster essentially. My simple solution to the buggy vehicles, assuming they are as unfixable as they appear to be, would be to increase both the vehicle and the occupant armour so when the inevitable lag bug happens you haven't instantly lost the toon, the car and the loot you've spent ages collecting to a 15km/h collision with a picket fence. Trucks already provide this extra protection and are thus much safer to drive in dayz, that and the fact they can actually climb the hills 😉

I sometimes play on PVE servers with various KOS zones incorporated into the map, usually military areas and now the new contaminated zones. They can be fun but do tend to get boring over time. There's nothing quite like the thrill of knowing you can be killed at any time for any reason and without a discord server telling you who did it, with what and from where. Although having a discord server does have its own benefits. Case in the point the other day a few of us were banded together collecting NBC gear to enter RIFY on a loot. One person dressed for the gas with three others holding overwatch in case other players arrived as it was a KOS zone. Sure enough a couple of geared players arrived to do the same just before our man was going in so the shooting started. We killed one and the other managed to hightail it away in their car to tend to their wounds. Moments later in the discord we found out they were members of a RP medic crew looking for loot to sell to buy medical supplies. Yeah we felt a little bad but it was also nice to flesh out the story behind the engagement. The most likely reason someone will try to kill you rather than engage in conversation is you appear to have or are about to have what your killer needs and you look too dangerous to approach and ask. Definitely agree with above. Start friendships early when you have little to lose and everything to gain.

Vehicles are broken, buggy deathtraps and i can't understand anyone defending this. Also can't understand why in a world where bike helmets are so prevalent there's not a single bike (motored or pedal powered) to be found.

... and when you do you're lucky to have 30 minutes before it crashes again, rinse and repeat. Pathetic. No idea why there can't be a couple of community servers set up by BI just to run as experimental servers so these playstation specific issues can be fixed before updates (or rather downgrades!) go live.

Useable cans would be good, also they could be discarded just like paper is already, giving a hint that someone else has recently been there. More different guns are kinda pointless as they don't add to gameplay in any way.

Aha, that would explain it. Legacy item. I've only been playing year and was under the impression stoves in houses were always useable😉

i use the character builder on ps4 and i still spawn in as a random character... it's broken

yeah the only times i've died of starvation is when starting as a freshie, at night, in the rain and trying to sprint half the map to my dead body and its loot... that and through sickness of course 😉

funnily enough i've never once used or needed to use a campfire tripod... always looked at it like something that could be removed from the game entirely and it wouldn't be missed

snipers are rarely overburdened with full inventories so usually have full stamina... defo, stamina affected by weight shouldn't come into breath holding time when stationary, especially when prone

would certainly be great to be able to put full bags in a cars inventory
